15: Chapter 15 Free Fighting Champion

Chapter 15: Kickboxing Champion

In the afternoon, a little past one o'clock.

Fang Cheng did not appear in the training hall where he was supposed to be.

Instead, he put on a blue suit, held a stack of ad flyers, and stood in front of Gate 7 of the shopping center.

The surrounding crowd was bustling with a continuous stream of people coming to shop and hang out.

"Brother, do you want to learn martial arts? Great for physical fitness, a must-have for self-defense at home..."

From time to time, he shouted ad slogans, handed out flyers, and pitched combat classes to the men passing by.

However, before he could say more than a few words, he was flatly rejected with a wave of a hand.

On the other hand, quite a few young women chose to linger and listen patiently.

But it seemed their intention was more about striking up a conversation than buying courses.

Some bolder girls even directly asked for his personal contact information.

With a polite smile on his face, Fang Cheng broke out in a slight cold sweat on his forehead.

He felt that work in the Marketing Department was simply not something a normal person could handle.

If he had a choice, he would rather do 1,000 Push-ups to replace the awkwardness of the moment.

How awkward was it?

Like telling an unfunny joke a hundred times in public.

That was roughly what it felt like.

The day before yesterday, Fang Cheng went to his supervisor, expressing his desire to rotate through various positions to gain work experience.

Old Qiu didn't mind.

The main issue was that the department was short-handed, so any transfer would inevitably cause personnel issues.

So he told Fang Cheng to submit an application report to the manager.

As a result, before he even finished writing the report, Manager Li took the initiative to call him over for a chat at noon today.

At first, the conversation went quite harmoniously.

As usual, he offered a few words of encouragement, saying things like work hard and the company wouldn't mistreat outstanding employees.

Afterwards, Manager Li hinted that Fang Cheng could formally stay on.

As long as he performed well, he could be promoted to deputy department head next year, and in a few years, he might even become the supervisor.

Fang Cheng was noncommittal and didn't give an answer on the spot.

The supervisor's blank check was too distant, and a deputy's salary wasn't much higher anyway.

Of course, an opportunity for a promotion and pay raise was certainly a good thing.

Seeing that Manager Li seemed to be in a good mood, Fang Cheng took the opportunity to request a position rotation.

Manager Li pondered for a moment and said he could consider it.

However, Fang Cheng needed to go to a new position first to prove his abilities.

In the end, he was booted straight from the Logistics Department to the Marketing Department.

Looking at the sea of people around him, Fang Cheng let out a quiet sigh.

He couldn't help but wonder if Manager Li had bad hearing and misunderstood, or if he did this on purpose.

Wantong Shopping Center had been hosting a raffle event for the past few days.

As long as spending inside the mall met a target, customers could claim gifts and raffle tickets from the organizers.

Word had it that the prizes included refrigerators, color TVs, and even the currently trendy home computers.

Therefore, even though it wasn't a weekend or holiday, a large crowd of citizens was drawn in to join the fun.

Fang Cheng's task today was to recruit a batch of new members to boost the club's end-of-year sales.

Many industry competitors had similar ideas.

Upstairs, yoga classes, dance classes, wellness centers, and gyms all mobilized together.

Since opening over half a year ago, Wantong Shopping Center had been quite quiet, with educational and training institutions occupying half the space.

Now that the mall management was hosting an event to boost foot traffic, no one was going to miss this opportunity.

Almost every high-traffic spot saw competitors handing out flyers and advertising.

The club had also worked hard to secure this prime spot near Gate 7.

"Brother Fang Cheng, come help us out, pretty please?"

A sweet voice floated into his ears.

Fang Cheng turned around to see two young women in office attire waving at him.

A table was set up by the entrance, alongside several display stands that were not yet fully assembled.

They were his colleagues from the Marketing Department.

"Okay!"

Fang Cheng answered decisively, feeling an immediate wave of relief.

Doing anything right now felt more comfortable than standing around foolishly handing out flyers.

He secured the display stands and pasted up the promotional posters.

Dusting off his hands, Fang Cheng glanced at the images and text on them.

The first two posters mainly introduced the club's environment, facilities, faculty, courses, and promotional offers.

The last one was a photo shoot of a certain combat sports star.

On the life-sized image with well-built muscles, the sharp gaze in his eyes felt almost tangible.

On the right side, an eye-catching headline was written:

"Fighting King Zheng Haokang will visit our club on December 17th. Stay tuned!"

Below was a large section of text introducing this sports star's life experience and achievements.

Native of Wenchuan District, Dongdu City; Sanda King; Olympic Boxing Champion; and two-time National Kickboxing Champion.

Later, he transitioned to KFC, successfully winning the Lightweight Gold Belt and becoming the first Xia Country fighter to win a title in a top-tier world combat organization.

Because before he became famous, he had trained for a period at the Global Elite Combat Club.

Thus, the club's management often used his achievements as an example, serving as a golden signboard to attract members.

It was said that inviting him to teach a masterclass this time cost over a hundred thousand yuan, and many students had already paid in advance to reserve a slot.

"Thanks for the help, Brother Fang Cheng."

A female colleague blushed slightly and handed him a glass of warm water.

Not to be outdone, another female colleague quickly showed her attentiveness:

"Brother Fang Cheng, you must be tired. Sit down for a bit. There's no rush to hand out flyers."

The two women hovered around Fang Cheng, chatting incessantly.

One moment they asked caring questions, and the next they complained on his behalf, saying the manager was stingy and should give him a raise for changing positions.

Drinking the hot water, Fang Cheng casually chatted with them.

However, his attention was completely focused on that last poster.

Staring at the heroic and sharp face of the fighting champion, thoughts surged in his mind like waves.

All along, Fang Cheng had harbored a desire to witness higher and broader horizons.

Because this pertained to the power ceiling of this entire world, as well as the ultimate limit he could reach.

If... supernatural power did not exist...

Wouldn't a world-class fighting champion mean standing at the Peak of human physical potential?

Fang Cheng's eyes glinted slightly as he thought to himself.

Perhaps only by observing and learning up close, and clashing with a true top-tier expert, could he find the answer.

Glancing at the date, there was still more than half a month left.

He had to step up his training and make preparations to seize this rare opportunity.

With a thought, the panel surfaced.

Fang Cheng stared at all the skills he currently possessed.

[Speed Reading Lv1 (36/250)]

[Focus Lv1 (81/250)]

[Culinary Arts Lv0 (52/100)]

[Cleaning Lv0 (90/100)]

[Boxing Lv1 (41/250)]

[Push-up Lv1 (1/250)]

[Squat Lv0 (65/100)]

[Leg Raise Lv0 (0/100)]

Squat and Cleaning were close to a Breakthrough, at which point he should be able to allocate attribute points again to further enhance his physical stats.

Following his normal pace, he believed he could unlock all of the Prisoners Six Arts within twenty days.

Right now, the most important thing should be learning other combat skills.

After all, the opponent was a mixed martial artist and kickboxing champion...

Just as he thought of this, an inquiring voice suddenly interrupted Fang Cheng's train of thought.

"Excuse me, can learning this help build up my health and strength?"
