198: The Shi Yuan Duo (Part 2)

"Roar!"

A White Tiger over ten meters tall crouched in the wilderness, its silver fur gleaming coldly under the sunlight. Its eyes were fierce, and its thunderous roar shook the air.

Saliva splattered from its gaping maw, a fishy stench permeating the air. The Severe Qi of the Metal Law circulated around its body like blades, withering plants at its touch.

As its roar gradually subsided, it lowered its head to gnaw on the Jiaolong's corpse. The crunching of scales and the tearing of flesh sounded harsh. Its sharp teeth ripped through tough hide, and saliva dripped to the ground with soft "sizzling" sounds.

Suddenly, it lifted its head sharply, its blood-gold pupils locking onto a disturbance in the distance. The moment it sensed someone approaching, its right paw swiped through the air.

A condensed golden claw mark tore through the air, scraped the ground, and exploded with a boom. Amidst the flying dust, a deep chasm appeared.

The soil and rocks at the edge of the chasm were scorched black, permeated by a lingering Severe Qi. The White Tiger remained crouched beside the corpse, fangs bared, staring intently at the source of the movement, fully on guard.

"Only gnawed this much... It seems I underestimated that guy's perseverance."

Shi Suiyan stood in the sky, treading the Void Realm.

At this moment, her right arm was gone, and her body was covered in wounds. But that previous attack was still easily parried by her remaining left hand.

"Time is short, it's time to send you back."

With that, a golden sphere composed of countless rings emerged from Shi Suiyan's palm.

As her magic power activated it, the rings began to spin. Some of the rings gradually expanded, nesting layer upon layer to form a complete armillary sphere.

As the armillary sphere rotated once, the White Tiger, which had been standing steadily, suddenly staggered, feeling as if the world was spinning.

By the time it recovered, the once vibrant forest had turned into scorched earth.

Yuan Chenling also finally regained consciousness.

"Shi Suiyan, you madwoman!"

The moment he woke, Yuan Chenling roared.

"I am the Young Lord of the White Tiger Tribe! How dare you, a mere Loose Cultivator, try to kill me!"

The originally azure sky had now turned dim.

Although Shi Suiyan, standing in the air, was severely wounded, the recovery ability of a Nascent Soul Stage cultivator was slowly repairing her dao body.

"If I want to kill, I kill, no matter who you are."

Her Nascent Soul Domain unfolded, enveloping Yuan Chenling.

The moment he entered the Domain, various Magic Treasures continuously emerged from Yuan Chenling's body.

But within the opponent's Domain, Shi Suiyan had temporarily taken charge of the Laws of Heaven and Earth there.

Despite his many Magic Treasures, Yuan Chenling found it difficult to resist.

His only two escape Magic Treasures had already been destroyed during this madwoman's pursuit.

In other words, he had nowhere to run.

"You damned lunatic! The White Tiger Tribe will pursue you for all eternity! Even if you fall into the Nine Nether Yellow Springs, we will never let you go!"

Facing his incessant chatter, the heavily wounded Shi Suiyan, with her severed arm, seemed rather leisurely.

She picked her ear, completely unconcerned.

"There's something you'd better remember, Yuan Chenling: don't be so boastful when you speak; it only makes you seem cowardly."

"Compared to the other you, who is also a Loose Cultivator, besides this luxurious fur, you have nothing commendable."

"You hairless monkey! The Demon Venerable will be eternal! Humanity will eventually be enslaved by our race!"

Shi Suiyan politely waited for him to finish. The instant his voice fell, she shattered his last Magic Treasure, and then, leveraging the power of heaven and earth, sliced Yuan Chenling into smithereens.

Staring at the now dead Yuan Chenling, she sensed an imprint appear within her body.

It was a claw print woven with gold and red.

Through the claw print, she seemed to see an enraged White Tiger, as if issuing a final ultimatum to her.

Shi Suiyan, however, merely smiled faintly and took out the mirror shard she had used to contact Zhou Yan in the Secret Realm long ago.

Then she activated the armillary sphere floating in the air. The mirror shard glowed faintly, but no information appeared. The armillary sphere, however, as if receiving some command, rotated again.

A flash of light, Shi Suiyan disappeared from the spot.

With a flash of light, Shi Suiyan vanished from her spot.

Days later, the area was flattened by a giant claw that blotted out the sky, completely disappearing from the map.

The moon was bright, the stars sparse, and a gentle breeze rustled through the leaves.

"Damn, why does my head hurt so much... It feels like I was chopped into bits."

He first felt his entire body and found that apart from his stomach feeling a bit full, he seemed to be fine.

"Oh, you're awake?"

Yuan Chenling whipped his head around, looking towards the source of the voice.

By the bonfire, Shi Suiyan was sitting there, smiling at him.

What was wrong with this woman? Didn't she always dislike him? Why was she greeting him with a smile now?

"Hiss~ My head hurts so much, it feels like I've forgotten a lot of things."

"If you've forgotten, don't think about it. It wasn't anything good anyway. Now that the mission is complete, forgetting the unpleasant experiences from it is just as well."

Shi Suiyan quietly watched the bonfire, seeing sparks dance among the firewood, feeling a sense of peace.

Prompted by her, Yuan Chenling remembered that they had gone on a mission.

But he only remembered infiltrating the base and seemingly stealing the Jiaolong's body; he had no other impressions.

"By the way, where is that Jiaolong's body?"

Yuan Chenling frantically looked around, seeing no trace of the Dragon's body. He immediately slumped to the ground, his face filled with despair.

"Pfft."

Hearing Shi Suiyan's laughter, Yuan Chenling instantly bristled, no longer caring about being afraid of her, and yelled.

"What are you laughing at!"

"You Disciples of large sects don't lack resources, but do you know how hard it is for Yao Race Loose Cultivators to get by!"

"I was hoping to turn this in so the boss could help me achieve Core Formation!"

"You're still gloating now, do you have any conscience!"

Looking at this bristling little lion, Shi Suiyan's mood improved significantly.

This scruffy lion, not strong in power, not smart in mind, but at least not bad in character, was much more pleasing to the eye than that slaughtering Young Lord of the White Tiger Tribe.

In any case, that was an unpleasant timeline. Fortunately, after this, she wouldn't have to go back.

Since the reason for disliking Yuan Chenling had been eliminated, he no longer seemed so annoying to her, so she kindly told him the Jiaolong's whereabouts.

Learning that the Jiaolong had already been sent away and was probably destroyed by now, Yuan Chenling, the entire Yao, became excited.

He couldn't wait to know how the boss would help him achieve Core Formation. After so many years of struggling, Yuan Chenling felt he had finally made it.

Although he often called himself a Yao Race Prodigy, it was actually just because the Yao Race had a long youth period.

If he hadn't met Zhou Yan, it would have taken him at least ten, or even several decades, to achieve Core Formation on his own. By then, he would no longer be a youth, and even if he broke through then, he would only be an ordinary Genius of the Yao Race, which wouldn't count as a Prodigy.

However, after following Zhou Yan, although he suffered some hardships, his cultivation advanced by leaps and bounds. In just a few months, it was comparable to more than a decade of arduous cultivation. Now he could even keep up with the first echelon of the younger generation of the Yao Race, truly a promising future.

Can follow Zhou Yan, Although I suffered some hardships, However, his cultivation level improved by leaps and bounds., A few months is comparable to more than ten years of arduous practice.. Now he can even keep up with the younger generation of the demon race., The first tier has taken its first step., A bright future is definitely in sight!.

As he was indulging in boundless fantasies about the future, he suddenly remembered something and asked Shi Suiyan.

"You said someone came to take the Jiaolong away earlier, so why didn't you take me back with them?"

"Also, what happened before I fainted? Why is my stomach so bloated?"

Shi Suiyan realized that this little lion was quite shameless. Give him an inch, and he'd take a mile, actually treating himself like a master.

However, she was in a good mood today, so she couldn't be bothered to argue.

Shi Suiyan casually added a log to the fire and replied.

"We finished the mission too early. If we went back now and Junior Brother Wang and the others saw us, it would only add more pressure on them."

"So I'm waiting here for you to wake up. Once you're better, we'll go straight to the venue, since it's not far from the main conference site."

"Anyway, it would be boring to go back, so why not just go to the conference and watch the excitement? Don't you agree?"

Yuan Chenling listened, then grinned and burst into laughter.

Then he stood up on two legs, paws on his hips.

"Indeed, it wouldn't be good to easily discourage those two. Let's wait until they complete their mission before we discourage them."

Since following Zhou Yan and no longer having to be a Loose Cultivator, Yuan Chenling felt his life was much more comfortable and carefree, and even his state of mind had become a bit purer.

Just as he was feeling smug, Shi Suiyan showed a mischievous smile.

"As for why your stomach is so full... it's because you ate a lot of that Jiaolong's rotten flesh while you were unconscious."

In truth, the corpse of a Nascent Soul great Yao wouldn't easily rot. Shi Suiyan said this purely to tease him.

Sure enough, as soon as he heard he had eaten rotten flesh, and then recalled the previous banquet, Yuan Chenling's smile instantly froze, his face turned pale, and he rushed to a nearby tree to retch.

Listening to the sound like a kitten coughing up a hairball, and gazing at the dancing flames before her, Shi Suiyan gripped the fragment in her hand a little tighter.
