348: Great fortune is coming!

"Why is there no one here?"

George sensed something was wrong as soon as he landed; how could the entire city be devoid of a single person?

"I thought a surprise attack by the two of us would be foolproof, but it seems that fellow isn't simple either."

"It seems He guessed we would come and moved everyone in advance. They should be underground, in the shelter I set up before."

"According to you, He must have some sort of divination method. But the fact that He didn't run is quite unusual."

George took two steps forward and used his Divine Sense to perceive the surroundings, only to detect a single life reaction on the roof of the Grace Building in the distance.

"He is there."

George pointed into the distance, realizing the opponent had long been prepared.

"Then should we still..."

Before he could finish, he felt a current of air brush past his shoulder.

"Truly crazy."

However, George didn't overthink it.

If he had come alone, he might have backed down, but they were two Soul Transformation experts.

They would win.

The two figures reached the top of the building in an instant, but they were stunned by what they saw.

Only a Room Sun Rabbit sat there, washing its face.

Looking at the rabbit washing its face, although it emitted the aura of the Nascent Soul Stage, it didn't look like an opponent at all.

Just as they were feeling puzzled, the Room Sun Rabbit suddenly looked up at them. George frowned, intending to crush it, but just as he was about to move, a Formation unfolded beneath his feet.

The massive Formation spread rapidly. By the time they reacted, they only saw the rabbit toss a Formation Plate into the air, which then vanished into thin air.

Wang Defu also realized they had been tricked. With veins bulging, he punched and exploded the Room Sun Rabbit.

Although the Room Sun Rabbit was a support creature skilled in defense and healing, it was still killed in a single punch.

But killing it served no purpose other than venting anger.

They were already trapped in a strange space that resembled a starry sky. The Laws here were severely disordered; it was clearly a trapping formation.

Neither of them was skilled in Formations, so this trapping formation could only be broken with brute force.

"Boom—!"

A bright star in the sky suddenly flickered, followed by a beam of dazzling starlight shooting toward them.

Wang Defu reached out to block it, but the starlight instantly split into eight, scattering in all directions and continuously growing in power as it reflected.

When the starlight burned them, their magical power would even evaporate.

Wang Defu quickly noticed the pattern and shouted to George, who was using Spells to defend.

"Don't use Spells! This Formation absorbs magical power!"

"Endure it with your Physical Body!"

But Wang Defu spoke too late.

George had already pressed his hands together, his magical power condensing into a thin but tough arc-shaped shield.

A beam of starlight hit the shield. There was no loud bang, only a humming vibration, before it split into even more fine points of light, rebounding toward Wang Defu at even trickier angles.

Wang Defu didn't look back.

He took a seemingly casual half-step with his left foot. A beam of starlight that happened to be rebounding grazed the corner of his fluttering robe and struck an invisible diamond-shaped barrier to his side.

The starlight split and rebounded again, and the web of light interwoven within the Formation instantly doubled in density. The space around them was filled with invisible diamond-shaped structures capable of twisting and reflecting attacks.

"Every time the starlight collides, its number doubles and its speed increases," George said, quickly withdrawing his shield. "But the positions of the diamond barriers are fixed."

"They're moving," Wang Defu finally spoke, his eyes half-squinted as his gaze followed the trajectory of a beam of starlight that had rebounded seven times. "It's slow, but all the barriers are rotating slowly in a fixed rhythm."

He had not even finished speaking when George extended his Divine Sense.

The vast will of a Nascent Soul Cultivator spread out like a fine net, instantly touching those invisible barriers.

The feedback was extremely eerie; the barriers were not physical objects but some kind of solidified, folded spatial folds.

The starlight's rebound within them wasn't perfectly straight; every tiny angular deviation accumulated due to the slow rotation of the barriers.

A beam of starlight hit the barrier beside George, and the dozens of tiny lights after splitting suddenly accelerated, covering Wang Defu like a torrential rain.

Wang Defu didn't dodge this time. He held his fingers like a sword and tapped the void in front of him nine times with extreme speed.

Nine points of faint light flashed from his fingertips, accurately meeting the nine most lethal beams of starlight.

There was no explosion; the starlight quietly annihilated like fine snow entering a furnace. However, the remaining light had already cut three scorch marks into his sleeve.

"They can't be erased without Spells, but using them only fuels the Formation's power."

George suddenly sat cross-legged in mid-air.

He pressed his hands against the void, his magical power no longer radiating outward but instead retracting inward to the extreme.

In the next instant, with him as the center, a layer of ice-blue frost halo silently spread out.

Wherever the frost halo passed, the speed of the rebounding starlight slowed down significantly, as if passing through thick honey.

Several starlight trajectories shifted due to this tiny change in speed, eventually colliding and annihilating each other.

"Although the Power of Law is restricted here, it can be simply attached to cause erosion."

"Clever," Wang Defu commented, his figure suddenly blurring. Taking advantage of George holding back the starlight, he transformed into dozens of afterimages darting through the limited space.

"Found it." All afterimages merged into one as Wang Defu's true body appeared three zhang to the left, looking up.

George also looked up.

The dome had been empty, but now, as those few out-of-control beams of starlight grazed it, a complex, slowly pulsating pattern of light emerged, looking like a giant heart composed of countless diamonds.

All the invisible barriers seemed to originate from it.

The two exchanged a glance.

Without a word, the frost halo beneath George suddenly surged, forcibly freezing all the stray starlight for an instant.

Wang Defu pointed toward the center of the light pattern on the dome, releasing a condensed, blackened finger wind that didn't leak any energy.

The finger wind passed through the frozen starlight and layers of folded spatial folds, accurately hitting the core of the light pattern.

There was no violent impact as expected.

The finger wind was like a pebble thrown into a deep pool, only stirring a ripple. Immediately after, the entire network of light patterns suddenly lit up with a blinding white light.

Then, without any warning, it completely went out.

The dense starlight, the invisible diamond barriers, and the tense sense of restraint in the space vanished completely in an instant.

But both of them simultaneously showed expressions of surprise.

Because this trapping formation hadn't been broken by them; it had been manually deactivated.

This trapping formation was indeed troublesome, but it couldn't stop them. It hadn't taken them long to find a way to break it, but its self-dissipation carried an entirely different meaning.

"This is bad! There's more—"

Before Wang Defu could finish, he heard a strange singing coming from below.

"Oh life, could you let me go just this once."

"In my next life, I only want to be a child who never grows up."

"With someone to keep me warm, someone to lean on, and not too many worries."

"Using the most innocent eraser to wipe away the conflicts of life."

He turned around and found they were no longer atop the building but in the air above a plain outside the city. Directly below, a giant ship was rapidly approaching them like a launching rocket.

Magnificent building complexes stood on the hull. The gates of the central hall swung wide, and George, who hadn't yet reacted, was swallowed directly inside.

Although Wang Defu reacted, the ship suddenly grew larger, enveloping him as well.

As the vermilion gates above closed, he suddenly felt the world spinning.

At the same time, outside Taiyi City, a ship the size of a small town shot straight into the sky, then turned sideways, floating quietly above the sea of clouds.

In the captain's room, Zhou Yan looked at the surveillance screens in front of him and smiled.

He turned to Zhang Fei behind him and said.

"It was originally quite troublesome to have an extra one, but fortunately you're here. It seems this really is your Opportunity."

"With the assistance of this dragon boat, are you confident you can deal with that Soul Transformation Middle Stage cultivator?"

Zhang Fei looked at the monitors, sighing inwardly, and felt even more approval for this operation.

He had originally thought that having an extra enemy would be his chance to sacrifice himself for a righteous cause, but he hadn't expected the other party's trump card to be so powerful.

With such an arrangement, he felt that taking on two by himself wasn't impossible.

So Zhang Fei didn't say much; he simply nodded and left the captain's room.

Watching his departing back, Zhou Yan looked at the surveillance screens again.

"I really didn't expect this Flower Boat to be used like this for its first time."

"Let them experience the joy of the Dragon Boat Festival too."

"Jie jie jie."

In the screen, George had already started smashing everything around him, even using the Power of Law, but he couldn't budge the place in the slightest.

This sense of helplessness far surpassed the trapping formation from before, and the feeling this place gave him was very unsettling, causing him to inevitably panic.

After a series of futile efforts, George finally knelt on the ground and shouted.

"What on earth is this place?!"
