354: Those facing the main body must be in even worse shape, right?

“Ha!”

The strange black cat didn't give Zhou Yan much time to think. It simply swiped a claw through the air, and a burning pain flared across Zhou Yan's back.

If it were just pain, Zhou Yan wouldn't have cared too much; after long periods of tempering, he had long since become desensitized to physical pain.

But the key was how the opponent had bypassed his game state to inflict damage directly on him.

His body reacted faster than his consciousness. Zhou Yan quickly found that he couldn't maintain flight, but momentum still pushed him forward for a distance before he finally plummeted to the ground.

Zhou Yan groaned and looked in disbelief at the black cat in front of him, which was currently licking its paw.

“What kind of trick is this? How did you do it?”

At this moment, the shock brought by this cat was far greater than the damage it had caused.

Zhou Yan stared fixedly at the black cat ten zhang away. It was squatting on a rock, its tail tapping gently against the stone.

He moved.

His figure stretched into a straight line as he threw a punch with all his might at the black cat.

The black cat raised a claw and tapped his wrist.

There was no sound.

Zhou Yan only felt his vision go black.

The next second, Zhou Yan triggered the effect of Not Falling into Yellow Springs and revived on the spot. But because he hadn't sustained any real injuries, he couldn't even enter the berserk state.

Zhou Yan was completely dumbfounded, having no idea what had just happened.

But he still immediately activated his Dragon Transformation.

Unlike the male-form Dragon Transformation, the female-form Dragon Transformation only caused two horns to sprout on his head, with a few scales adorning his body.

But Zhou Yan had no time to investigate the differences between the two, as everything was happening too fast.

If he were to be insta-killed again, he would truly be done for.

Without further ado, Zhou Yan directly deployed his Nascent Soul Domain.

The surrounding space twisted into a gray color.

Unlike other Domains that had distinct features, Zhou Yan's Domain was only different in color tone.

As soon as the Domain was deployed, he fully activated his Law of the Heart, striking at the black cat.

The black cat stood up and shook its head.

A layer of black light rippled outward.

The Domain began to disintegrate, being swallowed in reverse.

“Damn it... I can only hold on for three seconds.”

Zhou Yan gritted his teeth and persisted.

Before the Domain shattered completely, he poured out all his Spells, wanting to kill it in one go.

Lightning, water, and wind mixed into a torrent of destruction, engulfing the place where the black cat was.

An explosion occurred. The shockwave sent Zhou Yan flying.

But after the dust settled, the black cat was still sitting in the same spot, and even the ground within a radius of one zhang beneath its feet remained completely intact.

Behind it, the entire mountain range had vanished, replaced by a bottomless canyon, with traces of Spell erosion still remaining on the rock walls.

Zhou Yan looked at the cat, looked at that one-zhang safety zone, and looked at the canyon he had created.

He opened his mouth.

“Are you kidding me?”

The only response he got was another claw strike coming his way.

Zhou Yan's vision went black again.

Meanwhile.

“Little brother, your escape speed isn't fast enough.”

“The female cultivator who was traveling with you—my Clone had to chase for quite a while to catch up to her.”

“But you—I only took a few steps and caught up. It really gives me no sense of accomplishment.”

“You bastard! What happened to her!”

Seeing that he had been caught and could not escape, Long Tianxing had no choice but to stop and draw his Flying Sword to prepare for battle.

Schrödinger simply pressed a finger to his lips, appearing to be in thought.

“I'm not sure.”

“However, judging by her cultivation level, she should have already gone to report to the Yellow Springs, right?”

“You guy!”

Long Tianxing stopped wasting words and slashed with his sword.

Schrödinger easily dodged to the side, but in an instant, he found himself back in his original position, and that sword strike fell again.

A trace of surprise flashed in his eyes, but he still dodged calmly.

After this sword strike, Long Tianxing was visibly withered, his face pale.

“So young, yet you have quite the temper.”

“This sword strike evaporated quite a bit of your Luck, didn't it?”

“Should I say as expected of a Child of Destiny, truly fearless. Just for this unwinnable battle, you burned eighty percent of your Luck... you'll have a long recovery ahead.”

Long Tianxing didn't speak, just kept slashing.

He had already used a secret technique to temporarily convert his Luck into a means of attack. He could no longer use more Spells or techniques and could only slash with all his might before his Luck was exhausted.

Schrödinger was also piqued by this kind of attack, only constantly dodging and occasionally reaching out a hand to block.

While this seemingly playful battle was going on, on the other side, Zhou Yan had already died twice.

Zhou Yan looked at the harmless-looking black cat in front of him and once again felt a deep sense of powerlessness.

He couldn't run, and he couldn't win.

This was yet another time he had been caught up to by the black cat.

The opponent was just like a cat toying with a mouse; after his two deaths, it started to restrain its power, with each attack only bringing pain without causing death.

But whenever he tried to escape, it would always be waiting ahead.

This was the first time Zhou Yan had experienced such powerlessness.

At this moment, Zhou Yan was just thinking: What kind of monster had Long Tianxing encountered?

Since this black cat was here, the one encountered on the other side must be that Schrödinger.

“Could Long Tianxing already be dead?”

Zhou Yan had no time to worry about others; he could only pray that if the other party died, the Sect could fish him back, and if he died, the Sect could come to fish him back too.

“Long Tianxing! I'm never teaming up with you again in this lifetime!”

After saying this, he once again deployed his Nascent Soul Domain. This was his last life; he couldn't recover in such a short time.

Zhou Yan only had one question in his mind: Is this thing really only at the Early Stage of Soul Transformation?

Then what was the Late Stage Soul Transformation he killed not long ago? A bot?

Seeing the Nascent Soul Domain deployed again, the black cat just yawned. Facing this overwhelming attack, it just waved its claw casually, interrupting everything.

Finally, it seemed to get bored, so it leaped in front of Zhou Yan and swiped a claw, completely ending its opponent.

Confirming that the opponent would not stand up again, it proudly raised its head and leaped into the distance.

Meanwhile, on Long Tianxing's side, after experiencing a short battle, he quickly collapsed to the ground, exhausted.

“Really boring.”

“I thought the Child of Destiny could provide me with more fun, but it seems that's all there is to it.”

At this moment, a small black cat ran over from the distance, meowed at Schrödinger as if asking for credit, and burrowed into his cloak.

“It seems that young girl could hold out longer than you; she actually lasted so long against my Clone.”

“If I had known, I should have gone to her; that would have been much more interesting than playing with you.”

Hearing this, Long Tianxing's eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.

Although he had just heard the other party say that Kong Xuan might have met with an accident, he still held a glimmer of hope. But now that the black cat had already returned, the outcome went without saying.

Although he had only met Kong Xuan a few times and spent less than two days together, she held no romantic feelings for him, treating him just like a friend.

She had a bad personality and a bad temper, but getting along with her was actually quite easy.

Long Tianxing had originally thought this would be a predestined relationship, where the two would travel together to the Eastern Extreme and become a pair of bickering friends. Yet he hadn't expected that just passing by a station would cause her to fall like this.

The scenes of their interactions, her decisiveness when saving him, and the expression she wore when pranking him, kept echoing in his mind.

“You guy... that was someone who could have been my friend!”

“You guy... simply unforgivable!”

Long Tianxing used his sword to support himself and forced himself up.

Blood covered his face, but he stared fixedly at Schrödinger.

He stared at those smiling eyes and said word by word.

“What's so funny!”

“What's so interesting!”

“What do you take life for!”

After saying all this, Schrödinger thought the other party might have some hidden move and looked at him with great interest.

But Long Tianxing made an unexpected move; he stabbed his sword directly into his heart, then revealed a ferocious smile at Schrödinger.

“You dead cat, we'll see each other in the Yellow Springs!”

Then he gave a thumbs-down gesture and fell down.

Schrödinger felt an inexplicable malice spread throughout his whole body, and his originally smooth hair instantly stood on end.

“Hey, hey... this is not funny.”

Half a month later.

“Pfft.”

A hand covered in dust reached out from the soil.

Dust flew everywhere.

A person wearing a sticky rice dumpling mascot suit struggled to crawl out of the dirt.

“This should be fine now...”

Zhou Yan felt the pain all over his body, looked at his panel, and confirmed that his status was good, so he decisively burned his essence blood and sped away towards the east.

At the same time, he didn't forget to look back at the place where he had nearly lost his life half a month ago.

“Schrödinger, you just wait!”

“When I make it big in the future, I will never let you off!”

“Ouch... hiss... it hurts like hell.”
