551: Chapter 551 Inner Demon Meets True Demon

"Who are you?"

Turning his head, Zhou Yan saw a monster stranger than anything he could imagine.

Its body resembled a tiger with knotted muscles, and its fur was a dim, dark color.

That alone wasn't much, but the strange thing was that this fellow looked like a centaur; its lower half was a four-legged tiger body, but where the tiger's head should be, it was replaced by a human torso.

However, his upper human torso was still heavily tiger-like, with only the head being a proper human head. He looked like a young man with a fairly handsome face.

Looking at this weird-looking guy behind him, Zhou Yan's body began to tremble uncontrollably.

Even though his current body wasn't a physical one in the literal sense, it was still instinctively terrified.

The tiger-man in front of him stared blankly at Zhou Yan, the strange aura around him not dissipating but instead growing more intense.

"Um, who exactly are you? Could you tell me your name? Why aren't you speaking?"

The trembling of his body did not ease; instead, it became more violent as the other party released his aura.

Zhou Yan wasn't afraid of him; although this tiger-man looked a bit intimidating, he was acceptable compared to the bizarre things Zhou Yan had seen before.

But he just couldn't control himself. What was going on?

Hearing Zhou Yan ask again, the tiger-man finally looked at him once more.

"Tsk, who am I? Who am I?"

First, he lightly tapped his temple with his broad tiger claw.

Then, he continued to mutter while tapping.

At first, it seemed like his memories were distant and he was trying to recall them, but the further he went, the faster his tone became and the faster he tapped. Zhou Yan began to realize something was wrong.

"Who am I? Who am I? Who am I..."

"Wait, don't do this, seriously! Don't do this, please don't do this, I'm begging you, really don't do this!"

Zhou Yan's hands were crossed in front of him, waving so frantically they were almost a blur, desperately trying to dissuade him, but the other party didn't seem to care at all.

Until the transformation began.

"Who am I?"

*Pfft!*

"Holy crap!"

Right before Zhou Yan's eyes, the tiger-man brutally smashed his own head to pieces.

Even though he knew he was inside a Heart Demon, the sensation coming from in front of him was incredibly real.

The other party just indifferently moved his tiger claw away from his temple; the fur on the claw was still stuck with some blood and white matter, pulling out a long, thin thread.

But it wasn't over yet; granulation tissue began to grow rapidly where the head had been smashed.

Before long, a head that looked exactly like his, only a size smaller, grew out from the side of his face.

Growing the head seemed to increase his pain, and his originally calm face suddenly showed a hint of struggle.

"Who am I! Who am I! Who am I!"

The tiger-man began to swing both tiger claws, frantically beating his normal face and the side where the new head had grown.

As a person from the Blue Planet, Zhou Yan would be in big trouble if he couldn't see the problem by now.

"A monster is spawning, holy crap!"

When this guy grew his first head, Zhou Yan vaguely recalled the scene from the first time he entered Yuan Chenling's Heart Demon. Back then, with his shallow cultivation, he had seen a nine-headed monster hidden in the shadows.

Back then, he could only faintly sense its presence, but now there was no question—it was definitely this guy. If not, he'd eat Yuan Chenling on the spot!

"Crap! How could I forget about this thing!"

"I was wondering where a heartless kid like Yuan Chenling got such a huge Heart Demon. Turns out you're the one taking up the whole thing!"

Yuan Chenling had been a Loose Cultivator after all; he might not have noticed his father going easy on him due to his low cultivation.

But most of the psychological hurdles, including childhood bullying, shouldn't have been impossible to overcome.

The reason he hadn't come out of the Heart Demon for so long was probably because of this thing.

Now that the target was identified, Zhou Yan didn't hold back. Knowing it was the boss, why would he let it finish its transformation?

Before the other party could grow a third or fourth head, Zhou Yan charged in, fully activating the Law of the Heart.

With Yuan Chenling's surface Heart Demon broken, Zhou Yan naturally had far fewer restrictions.

Since the Law of the Heart was usable, it was time to show him who the Heart Demon's strictest father was!

"Still want to transform?"

"No transforming!"

Fully activating the Law of the Heart, it wrapped around the tiger-man like a giant hand and began to grind him down ruthlessly.

Seeing how easily he succeeded, Zhou Yan was about to smile when a long health bar appeared.

[Lu Wu (Fallen)]

[Race: Demon Race]

[Realm: ???]

[Affiliation: Primordial Human Race]

[Vitality: 0/0]

[Mana: 510k/500k]

Zhou Yan took a deep breath, grabbed the Lion-form Yuan Chenling, and in one fluid motion, turned, prepared, and sprinted away.

Only after running away did Zhou Yan start to think.

"Crap, crap, crap!"

"What the hell was that?"

Zhou Yan had just seen with his own eyes that the guy was tightly wrapped in his Law of the Heart, but when the attack hit, he found the damage was basically zero.

At the same time, the opponent displayed an incomprehensibly long health bar. Long was one thing, but who knew it would actually say zero? This was completely non-human.

Even the Demon Race was something Zhou Yan was hearing about for the first time.

He knew this world had a unique race called the Spirit Race and even emerging life forms like AI, but he had never heard a thing about the Demon Race.

A race that sounded like a destined arch-villain suddenly appearing inside Yuan Chenling, combined with his past experiences...

Zhou Yan was numb.

He had originally just wanted to enter Yuan Chenling's Heart Demon to help him overcome the Heart Demon Tribulation while checking his memories to see the actual attitude of his father, uncles, and elders toward him.

He planned that if something went wrong, he'd have to trouble classmate Xiao Yuan to enter his resurrection cooldown early to activate that White Tiger Tribe mark in his body.

After all, when they first met, Yuan Chenling had used that as a threat. The reason he had survived all these years was likely because of it.

Anyway, if they failed, everyone would die, so Zhou Yan might as well make use of it in advance. At worst, he'd compensate him more after he resurrected.

But now, the issues outside weren't resolved, and there was something inside Yuan Chenling. What was he supposed to do?

A massive tiger roar suddenly came from behind, accompanied by several echoes.

Fortunately, this was inside a Heart Demon; Zhou Yan didn't need to observe through his five senses or Divine Sense, he just needed to switch to a second-person perspective.

The result was a shock; the guy was already on the same level as that mountain-sized White Tiger, incredibly tall.

The original human torso had completely vanished, replaced by a massive tiger body with nine hideous and exceptionally prominent tiger heads.

This was no act; it was a pursuit filled with pure malice. If Zhou Yan hadn't flexibly utilized the superior performance of the Law of the Heart here, one slap would have finished his consciousness.

Seeing that no matter how it swiped, it couldn't hit him, the giant Lu Wu behind him let out an unwilling roar.

"The aura of the Azure Chapter!"

"Initial Flood Dragon!"

"Traitor!"

Lu Wu seemed to grow even more violent, releasing power recklessly. As soon as Zhou Yan felt that aura, he felt a wave of weakness, but he pushed through and kept running in the boundless darkness.

"I knew they were acting!"

"In a real pursuit, I'm struggling just to run, yet they could actually chat!"

He also realized that this couldn't continue. He could just disconnect and be done with it, but Yuan Chenling couldn't.

It was now confirmed that this was indeed the world of the Heart Demon, but the guy behind him seemed to be a True Demon, the kind that the Law of the Heart was useless against.

Wait.

Some information seemed to surface in Zhou Yan's mind.

Lu Wu?

Zhou Yan frowned, feeling like he had seen this name somewhere before, and in a very important place.

He remembered!
