76: Zhuang Xian arrived in Beijiang City

The night was as dark as ink, and an ambiguous atmosphere filled the carriage.

Situ Jun propped himself up. At some point, a Moon-Glow Stone had been hung from the carriage roof, its soft light casting a silver edge around his silhouette.

His fingertips gently brushed through Chen Yufei's messy hair at her temples. His movements were as light as if he were touching a rare treasure, tucking the strands stuck to her sweat-dampened forehead behind her ear.

Then he leaned down, a pitying kiss falling on the corner of her eye, as if to kiss away all her grievances and exhaustion.

His palm gently rubbed against the back of her neck. As his finger pads grazed the skin he had bitten into red marks, his voice was so raspy it was almost a whisper:

"Does it hurt?"

Chen Yufei turned her face away and did not answer him, but the tips of her ears were quietly stained with a crimson blush.

Seeing this, Situ Jun let out a low laugh, his chest vibrating slightly as it pressed against her still-shuddering back.

He buried his nose in her hair, greedily inhaling the faint scent of magnolia:

"If I had known, I should have been gentler..."

Before he could finish, Situ Jun suddenly rolled over, wrapping Chen Yufei in his arms and covering them both tightly with the quilt, as if to seal away this warmth and intimacy forever.

His fingertips slowly traced along her slender waistline, giving a neither heavy nor light pinch at the soft small of her back, earning a flirtatious scolding.

Only then did Situ Jun rest his chin on her shoulder with satisfaction, his voice full of doting:

"In a few days, I'll have the Old Physician prepare more nourishing herbs to raise my Madam until she's as plump and radiant as a pearl..."

He intentionally emphasized the words "my Madam." Seeing Chen Yufei's ear tips burning again, he couldn't resist taking that crimson patch into his mouth and suckling it gently:

"Such a delicate appearance, I must hide you well, lest you be coveted by others."

His warm breath, wrapped in lingering sweet words, fell upon her hair, condensing into a gentle cage in this cozy carriage, tightly surrounding the two of them.

Chen Yufei's heart also gradually sank into these sweet words... Meanwhile, atop the border city wall.

The sky had just brightened, and a thin mist still hung on the distant mountain peaks.

Bei Batian was dressed in a black robe, its corners snapping loudly in the wind.

He stood on the city wall with his hands behind his back, looking at the leaden clouds rolling on the distant horizon, his brow furrowed and his heart full of worry.

By his calculations, that Zhuang Xian should have arrived at his base, "Northern Border City."

Although that kid Zhuang Xian's Cultivation wasn't top-tier, relying on his status as the grandson of the Xihua Sect's outer court Grand Elder, he was practically lawless within a thousand-mile radius.

He had invited Zhuang Xian to Northern Border City under the guise of an excursion, but Bei Batian knew clearly that wherever this pampered Young Master went, trouble followed.

Bei Batian recalled Zhuang Xian's arrogant demeanor and how his words were filled with contempt for Northern Border City, and his heart couldn't help but feel a pang of bitterness.

"I don't know what kind of chaos this 'Great Buddha' will stir up in the city. If he is offended, not only will my hope of ascending to the Late Golden Core Stage be lost, but I'm afraid I won't even be able to keep my current position."

He muttered to himself, his face full of distress.

He had operated in Northern Border City for many years and finally achieved his current status, but facing a behemoth like the Xihua Sect, he had no power to resist. He could only serve Zhuang Xian cautiously, for fear of accidentally provoking this pampered Young Master.

"City Lord, Young Master Zhuang's carriage has entered the city."

A Guard hurried over to report.

Bei Batian's brow furrowed. He nodded slightly, turned to walk down from the city tower, and secretly calculated how to clean up the mess for this difficult-to-serve master.

Zhuang Xian was naturally eccentric and violent, fond of snatching civilian women, and would resort to violence at the slightest dissatisfaction.

The troubles he caused in other cities were settled by the Xihua Sect, but this was his own jurisdiction, Northern Border City. Once something happened, his own reputation and prestige would be affected.

On the other side, Zhuang Xian sat in a magnificent carriage, slowly arriving outside the gates of Northern Border City.

He leaned against soft cushions, with two beautiful maidservants beside him kneading his shoulders and pounding his legs.

"I wonder if there are any beauties in this Northern Border City who can catch this Young Master's eye. If not, it will be too boring."

Zhuang Xian curled his lip, his eyes full of impatience.

As soon as the carriage entered the city, Zhuang Xian lifted the curtain and poked his head out to look around.

The streets were bustling with people coming and going, and various cries of street vendors rose and fell.

Zhuang Xian frowned and said with disdain:

"This Northern Border City doesn't look like much; it's far behind the prosperity of the Heavenly Dragon Dynasty."

After speaking, he casually grabbed a maidservant's hand and squeezed it hard. The maidservant felt the pain but didn't dare make a sound, only able to endure her tears as she continued to serve him.

Zhuang Xian's attendants followed behind the carriage, each one arrogant and haughty, occasionally pushing aside pedestrians on the road.

The pedestrians were angry but didn't dare speak out, only able to move out of the way one after another.

Seeing this, Zhuang Xian burst into laughter:

"This is more interesting. These Mortals should be in awe of this Young Master."

Zhuang Xian's laughter mixed with the rumbling of the carriage wheels over the bluestone road, startling the sparrows under the eaves into flight.

Just as he was pulling his head back into the carriage, a moon-white figure flashed past the corner of the street. Her posture was as light as a butterfly, and the silver bells in her hair jingled softly with her steps.

"Stop."

Zhuang Xian suddenly yanked open the curtain, and the carriage braked sharply at the mouth of the alley.

The woman was currently squatting on the ground, picking out a hairpin. Her falling hair covered half her face, but it couldn't hide the skin on her neck, as white and translucent as jade.

Greed ignited in Zhuang Xian's eyes:

"That figure has some charm. Bring her over."

As soon as he finished speaking, two attendants rushed over like vicious dogs, pushing through the passersby.

The woman was startled and tried to flee, but she was grabbed by the wrist by an attendant.

In the struggle, the woman revealed a youthful face with eyes full of spring and a pitifully moving expression.

It was precisely Hong Mei, the maidservant of Lin Suwan from the Northern City Manor.

"Let me go! I am the City Lord's person!"

Hong Mei's voice was like a warbler's, her eyes full of terror.

During the struggle, her embroidered shoes drew messy marks on the ground, and the contents of the basket in her hand scattered everywhere.

Zhuang Xian jumped off the carriage, paced around her, and reached out to tilt her chin up:

"Truly a beauty. The City Lord's Manor, is it? That's easy then. Take her to the carriage, we're going to the City Lord's Manor... Meanwhile, on the official road heading towards East Lin City, the morning light filtered through the fine gaps in the carriage curtain, softly sprinkling like crushed gold over the sleeping Situ Jun and Consort Yu who were embracing each other.

Consort Yu slowly woke up. Everything from last night surged into her heart like a tide. Her face instantly turned completely red, and she subconsciously tried to break free from Situ Jun's embrace.

Situ Jun seemed to sense it, his long arms tightening to hold her even closer. A satisfied smile still hung at the corner of his mouth, as if he were unwilling to let go even in his dreams.

"If you keep pretending to sleep, I'm going to get upset."

Consort Yu grumbled softly, reaching out to gently poke Situ Jun's cheek, her fingertips carrying a young girl's shyness and charm.

Situ Jun slowly opened his eyes, his gaze full of deep affection and attachment:

"How could I bear to make my Madam upset? I just wanted to see more of my Madam's morning appearance; it's even more moving than the first blooming Chun Hua."

As he spoke, he took her hand, gave it a gentle kiss at his lips, and his warm breath brushed over her skin, causing Consort Yu's heart to tremble.

"You're just smooth-talking. Don't you see what time it is? What would people think if they saw us like this?"

Consort Yu wanted to break free, yet she was reluctant to leave this tenderness, her tone full of flirtatious scolding.

"What does it matter? I wish I could announce to the whole world that my Madam is the person at the center of my heart."

Situ Jun said as he held her tighter, his chin gently rubbing the top of her head.

His warm breath blew against her sensitive earlobe, causing Consort Yu's body to tremble slightly.
