97: Crimson Morning Light

Morning light filtered through the madder-colored curtains like soft golden threads, casting fine golden specks onto the blue brick floor. Situ Jun lay on the embroidered couch, while the Embroiderer, Jin Xuanxiu, rested her head on his arm, her breathing soft and steady.

Situ Jun carefully withdrew his arm, fearing he might wake the person in his embrace. He slowly rose and put on his outer robe, gazing tenderly at Jin Xuanxiu on the bed.

On the bed, Jin Xuanxiu was curled into a soft arc, her eyelashes trembling slightly and a faint smile lingering on the corners of her lips; yet, tear stains from last night still clung to her cheeks like broken pearls, telling of the hardships she had endured.

Looking at her like this, Situ Jun's heart was filled with pity.

He paced to the window and pushed open the carved window lattice. The morning mist of Northern Frontier City, carrying a chill, rushed toward him, making him frown slightly.

The cries of street vendors drifted from afar; that bustle of the marketplace formed a sharp contrast with the silence of the inner chamber, as if they were two completely different worlds.

Just then, Situ Jun's mind stirred as the System's notifications rang out in his head:

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for gaining Jin Xuanxiu's favor, obtaining 1,000 heavenly luck value points.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for helping Jin Xuanxiu regain her cultivation Aptitude. Rewarding the Host with the Mystic-rank Advanced cultivation Martial Skill 'Rainbow Piercing the Sun'.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for the progress in your Cultivation. Keep up the good work.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for reaching 80 favorability with Jin Xuanxiu. Rewarding 500 Mid-Grade Spirit Stones.]

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for the progress of your Chaos Divine Body.]

Situ Jun's face instantly lit up with joy. These rewards were not just a boost to his strength, but also a testament to the romantic progress between him and Jin Xuanxiu.

He gave Jin Xuanxiu's peaceful sleeping face one more tender look before quietly leaving the room for the front yard.

He quietly left the room and came to the front yard.

Where Wei Zhong had been drunk last night was now a mess; wine jar fragments were scattered everywhere, and the air was still thick with the pungent smell of alcohol.

Situ Jun's Spiritual Sense swept over the area again, confirming that Wei Zhong was still fast asleep.

He took out a sound transmission talisman and sent a message to his trusted subordinates:

"Prepare a luxury carriage and park it in front of the Brocade Pavilion in the East City Silk Shop..."

Situ Jun carefully explained more details to ensure everything was foolproof before returning to the backyard with peace of mind.

Just as he entered the room, he saw Jin Xuanxiu sitting up, rubbing her sleepy eyes. Her black hair cascaded down like a waterfall, half-hiding her flushed face and making her look exceptionally charming.

"Young Master..."

Her voice carried the hoarseness of someone just awakened, filled with endless reliance.

Situ Jun stepped forward, his eyes full of tenderness:

"You're awake? Sleep a bit more. I'll have someone bring breakfast in soon."

The Embroiderer shook her head and pulled back the brocade quilt, but her legs were so weak from the previous night's exhaustion that she nearly fell again.

Situ Jun blurred to her side to support her, gently pulling her into his embrace.

The Embroiderer leaned against his chest, listening to that powerful heartbeat. Her heart was filled with peace, feeling as though as long as she was in his arms, she had nothing to fear.

"Young Master, when shall we send Xiao Rou away?" The Embroiderer looked up, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.

"Don't worry, I've already made the arrangements. My people will come to pick her up at noon today."

Situ Jun stroked her hair and said softly:

"Before that, pack some of Xiao Rou's clothes and daily necessities."

The Embroiderer nodded, pulled away from Situ Jun's embrace, and went to the wardrobe. She found a few of her daughter's favorite outfits and carefully packed away the sachets and handkerchiefs she had embroidered for her.

Every time she picked something up, her reluctance grew, and tears welled in her eyes.

After packing, she sat at the dressing table and combed her hair before the bronze mirror, her eyes showing both anticipation for the future and a hint of nervousness.

Hearing footsteps, she turned around and saw Situ Jun, a tender smile immediately blooming on her face:

"Young Master."

Situ Jun walked up behind her, took the comb from her hand, and said softly:

"Let me help you."

His movements were gentle, combing through the Embroiderer's long hair stroke by stroke, as if he were tending to a rare treasure.

The Embroiderer felt the warmth coming from behind her, her heart filled with sweetness as a blush unconsciously crept onto her cheeks.

Just then, rapid footsteps suddenly came from outside the door.

"Madam! This is bad!" The maid Xiao Tao rushed in frantically. "Master Wei has returned with a group of people, saying he's here to hold you accountable!"

The Embroiderer's face instantly turned deathly pale, her jewelry falling to the floor, her heart filled with fear and unease.

Situ Jun's gaze sharpened. He stepped forward to take her hand and said in a deep voice:

"Don't be afraid. I'm here."

No sooner had he spoken than Wei Zhong's drunken shouting echoed from the courtyard:

"Slut! Get out here! How dare you fool around behind my back!"

Along with the shouting came the sound of heavy objects being overturned; the entire Brocade Pavilion fell into chaos.

Situ Jun gently shielded the Embroiderer behind him and said:

"Stay inside. I'll go out and take a look first." Having said that, he slowly walked out of the room.

He saw Wei Zhong, his face flushed and hair disheveled, approaching with several fierce-looking Servants.

As soon as Wei Zhong saw Situ Jun, a flash of jealousy and anger crossed his eyes. He pointed at him and cursed:

"You reckless fool! How dare you get close to my woman!"

Situ Jun's expression remained calm as he sneered:

"Wei Zhong, look at yourself. What you've done to the Embroiderer is worse than what a beast would do."

"What did you say?" Wei Zhong's eyes widened in fury. "That's a blatant slander!"

Situ Jun remained calm and said unhurriedly:

"Wei Zhong, you divorced the Embroiderer and then tried to offer her to Zhuang Xian. How can I stand by and do nothing about such heartless and unrighteous behavior?"

Upon hearing this, Wei Zhong's face turned pale instantly, a flash of panic in his eyes.

Then, as if thinking of something, his expression grew even more furious as he said viciously:

"She belongs to my Wei family! I'll do as I please! If you know what's good for you, leave Northern Frontier City immediately. Otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless!"

With a wave of his hand, several Servants immediately surrounded him, striking a pose as if ready to attack.

A cold smile curled onto Situ Jun's lips as the aura around him surged, and a powerful pressure spread out.

Feeling this pressure, the Servants' faces paled and their legs went weak, and they couldn't help but retreat a few steps.

Wei Zhong couldn't help but tremble inwardly, but relying on Zhuang Xian and his own influence in Northern Frontier City, he still forced himself to speak:

"You... don't think you can scare me! Northern Frontier City is not a place where you can run wild!"

Just as the atmosphere grew tense again, the Embroiderer suddenly walked out from the backyard.

With a firm expression, she walked to Situ Jun's side, took his hand, and said to Wei Zhong:

"Wei Zhong, from the moment you wrote the Divorce Letter and the 'indentured servitude contract,' I've had nothing more to do with your Wei family. Now, my heart belongs elsewhere, so stop pestering me."

Seeing the Embroiderer and Situ Jun so intimate, the fires of jealousy burned fiercely in Wei Zhong's heart, and he completely lost his reason.

He shouted:

"Get them! Take down this adulterous couple!"
