114: Chapter 114 Slaanesh's Summoning
"His Majesty has issued an order: cease the attack!"
It wasn't just at Yucai Hive City; the Slaanesh Court's outposts throughout the Cheng Yu Empire were facing various forms of containment and targeting. Main Body knew all too well that the bastards under his command were looking to take advantage of the situation, so before things spiraled out of control, he hurriedly issued an imperial decree to call a halt.
The main reason was... the water replenishment base in Warp had also been surrounded by the Slaanesh army, and the Slaanesh Nuns were setting fires inside and outside the base, much like the story of Wei Yan.
Furthermore, according to secret reports sent from various locations, the majority of the conflicts were indeed instigated by the Empire's side; there was no evidence to suggest that the Slaanesh Court had intended to provoke the Empire.
"His Majesty has issued an order: cease the attack!"
Cheng Yu's deterrent power was still quite significant. After receiving the imperial decree, the vast majority of conflict points quickly called off their troops, and some locations even sent watermelons to the Slaanesh Nuns, who had been cut off from food and water in their camps for several days.
However, some conflicts had already reached a boiling point, especially among those clones who had already entered into marital relationships with Slaanesh Nuns. The wars between them had begun long before this current conflict, and thus would not be extinguished simply because this conflict ended.
"What about these losses? Are we just going to let it go?!" Outside the Slaanesh church in Yucai Hive City, a Slaanesh Nun leader was discussing compensation matters with Smoked-Voice Cheng Yu.
"Did you take out insurance? The Hive City Insurance Company, *ahem*," Smoked-Voice Cheng Yu asked.
"I did, but I only took out fire insurance," the Slaanesh Nun leader replied.
"Then why don't you hurry up and set a fire to burn these scraps? If you're late, they'll deny the claim." Smoked-Voice Cheng Yu shrugged and walked away.
...
Inside the palace, Main Body was not just watching the show; he was busy too.
The Dark Mechanicum Archmagos Ferrum had already completed the demigod transformation of his arms.
While Main Body was playing chess with Cassius, Ferrum was performing the modifications on the side. The blood was spraying everywhere—it left Cassius stunned, and the chessboard was covered in blood.
Cheng Yu was, of course, afraid of pain, but he could share the sensation of pain with his billions of clones, so the pain experienced by each person was only equivalent to a mosquito bite.
After the transformation was complete, Cheng Yu didn't feel much of a difference at first.
It wasn't until he was reviewing the memorials that he realized his hand speed used to be unable to keep up with his thoughts, but now his thoughts couldn't keep up with his hand speed. Often, before he had fully thought through a matter, his hand would already be dashing off thousands of words.
"The matter of Yao and Shun... no, the matter of Magnus, I know it now."
It turns out that technology from Warp is such a useful thing; no wonder those who have come into contact with it never want to give it up.
"Which part of my body should I strengthen next?" Main Body was pondering this question when he was suddenly interrupted by an urgent report.
"Your Majesty, the Slaanesh Court has sent an official note inviting you and your officials to visit the Slaanesh palace in Warp for a state visit to clarify misunderstandings and rebuild peace."
"What?!" Main Body's pupils shook, and his mind wavered.
Not go? That definitely wouldn't work. If he didn't go, Slaanesh would send Greater Daemons. The Empire was currently still very weak and couldn't withstand having several Greater Daemons wreaking havoc on its territory.
But taking all his officials with him? Main Body couldn't bear it. He wouldn't die, but these SR and SSR character cards he had worked so hard to pull—these people only had one life.
"I understand. Once I have drawn up the list of accompanying personnel, I will naturally let the Court know."
"Understood."
Sure enough, as soon as the Slaanesh Court sent the note, the siege at the water replenishment base in Warp was immediately lifted. Those nuns who had been setting fires also turned themselves in, expressing their willingness to work hard to compensate for the Empire's losses.
"Send out the notice: add an extra Grand Court Meeting tomorrow. I want to seek counsel from all the worthies."
"As you command."
...
Things were orderly both above and below, except for the situation with Wild Dog Cheng Yu, which was stuck in an awkward limbo.
The video had already been sent to the other party's email, but there was no response, as if they didn't care at all that one of their subordinate camps had been raided.
In reality, they had received it, but the Slaanesh Nun responsible for handling this matter had been beaten back to Warp during the previous church defense battle; it would likely take her a mere ten years to finish her cultivation and return to the material universe.
"We'll take the loss. You lot can go." Wild Dog Cheng Yu felt he was a total failure. He tried running a gray business, and it got mortgaged; he tried espionage, and he couldn't find the contact point; and now that he had finally made up his mind to commit a kidnapping, the hostage's family had gone out of contact.
"We're not leaving. Before coming to the material universe, we all paid a high price to snakeheads to get us in, saying we could make money here and corrupt many clones. As you can see, we ended up next to a coal pile. Since you've kidnapped us, you have to feed us until someone from home comes to redeem us."
"Hey, I've been hanging around the Underhive for so many years, and now I'm being taken for a ride by you lot!" Wild Dog Cheng Yu pulled out his gun, intending to fire into the air to scare them, but because he had stayed next to the heat exchanger for too long, sweat was pouring off him, and the bullets had long since become damp and useless.
"You, you, you..." Wild Dog Cheng Yu suddenly felt a sense of lightness and euphoria in his head, then his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed backward.
"Boss, Boss, what's wrong with you?!"
"He's suffering from heatstroke! Quick, get some water!"
"Where are we going to find water here?"
The entire Slaanesh camp fell into chaos because of the kidnapper boss's heatstroke.
