1: Chapter 1 I Became the Demon Grand Duke

Decker City, a city built on the Endless Wasteland three hundred years ago, was the most fortified city in the northern territory of the Silver Moon Kingdom.

Inside this great northern city, in an inconspicuous inn near the city center, a young man so handsome that one might doubt if he possessed elven blood lay on the floor, his life or death unknown.

The young man was dressed in luxurious, pure white noble robes, his eyes tightly shut, and his pale face lacked even a hint of color, as if he were already dead.

The culprit behind his unconscious state was a bone-deep scar on his wrist. Fresh blood was slowly flowing from the wound, and the scent of blood permeated the entire room.

Even more chilling was the sight of the blood seeping from his wrist, being greedily devoured by the crystal ball tightly gripped in his hand.

A crystal ball capable of devouring blood—this was clearly no ordinary object.

The scene looked very much like some greedy, ignorant noble had attempted a forbidden evil ritual and ended up suffering a backlash, dying as a result...

Who knew how much time had passed? The light outside the window gradually dimmed, and the room seemed to be covered in a layer of dusky gauze.

In his sleep, Loren felt a sharp pain in his wrist, as if someone had stabbed him with a knife. He initially thought it was a dream, but the intense pain constantly stimulated his nerves, and his drowsy consciousness slowly revived amidst the agony.

After a long while, he finally opened his eyes, having expended all his strength as if pushing open a thousand-ton iron door.

The moment he woke up, the crystal ball in his hand emitted a chaotic-colored light, and the scar on his wrist healed with eerie speed, leaving only a faint mark.

His weak body left Loren's mind sluggish, and he did not notice this incomprehensible, supernatural phenomenon.

What greeted his eyes was the ceiling above, embossed with patterns bearing rich religious symbols. In the dim light, they were not clearly visible, giving one a sense of blurry disorientation.

After panting for a moment, he finally had the strength to look around.

This was a room with a strong Western European medieval style. Faded oil paintings hung on the walls on both sides, vaguely depicting the legend of a knight slaying a dragon. The surrounding antique ornaments, furniture, and curtains, though old, all exuded a thick exotic atmosphere.

Looking at the strange environment, Loren's mind was full of confusion. Wasn't he drinking with a client? Did he drink too much??

Which club is this?? They really went all out with the decor. Is a witch going to come in next to check his body?

This kind of roleplay is actually quite novel...

But just as he tried to struggle to sit up, countless memory fragments suddenly flooded his mind. His weak body felt as if it had been slapped hard, his head boomed, and he fell into unconsciousness once again.

A long time later, Loren opened his eyes for the second time.

But this time, there was no confusion in his eyes, and his expression became extremely dramatic.

"Nuoer Main Plane, Silver Moon Kingdom, Decker City..."

"I am now the heir of the Silver Moon Kingdom's high nobility—the Bauhinia Family, Loren Grant. Three months ago, while following my father's generation in an operation to hunt down an Evil Sacrifice, I accidentally obtained a crystal ball. That crystal ball possessed incredible power, and I even obtained the Demon Grand Duke Bloodline from it..."

"Now, I possess the unawakened Demon Grand Duke Bloodline... I became a Demon Grand Duke?!"

Thinking of this, Loren was shocked, his eyes suddenly widening.

"Not only that, this crystal ball has long been targeted by a Demon Overlord with terrifying strength. The reason the crystal ball appeared was that the other party intended to use the Evil Sacrifice to activate it. That Demon Overlord, after losing the crystal ball, appeared in the Silver Moon Capital every day for half a month to search for traces of it. Even a Legendary powerhouse was severely injured by the Demon Overlord..."

"Starting off being hunted by a Demon Overlord?? Do you have to be this stimulating?!!"

Loren's expression was a bit ugly as he continued to view the memories left by his predecessor in the first person.

"Demons are evil lifeforms hidden in dimensional planes, bloodthirsty and murderous, and are tolerated by no one."

"The Silver Moon Kingdom once suffered greatly from the harm of demons. Anyone tainted by demons would be hanged, let alone the fact that what I obtained was the bloodline of the overlord among demons—the Demon Grand Duke."

"Three years ago, the King personally hanged a prince who had actively summoned demons to gain power and replaced the bloodline in his body with demon blood. Therefore, even though I am a descendant of the high-ranking Bauhinia Family, once discovered, there is absolutely no possibility of survival."

"In order to survive, and also to avoid the pursuit of the Demon Overlord, my predecessor took advantage of the fact that the Demon Grand Duke Bloodline had not yet awakened to apply to the family to give up the right to inherit the title of Grand Duke of Bauhinia and came to the northern territory to become a Frontier Lord."

"After arriving in Decker City, I spent 1,000,000 currency to purchase information on a territory suitable for building a city from a mercenary squad. I confidently took hundreds of people and ample supplies to that territory."

"On the 31st of every month in the Nuoer Main Plane, the moon in the sky will turn blood-red. This day is known as the Day of Blood. When the blood moon rises, the Bloody Corruptor hidden in the dimensional planes will crawl out to attack all human cities."

"Five days ago was the Day of Blood, and that territory of mine, which looked perfect, actually contained a deadly trap—those damned mercenaries deceived me; there was a group of fierce Frogmen living in the territory."

"Unsurprisingly, my territory was attacked by the Bloody Corruptor while being caught in a pincer attack. Although I survived in the end, the efforts of more than a month and the savings I brought from the family all became bubbles."

"In order to restart the territory, I returned to Decker City from the Endless Wasteland, wanting to continue purchasing supplies."

"But I am now penniless, so a dignified descendant of the Bauhinia Family can only live in a small inn. And stimulated by the destruction of the territory, my predecessor wanted to completely activate the Demon Grand Duke Bloodline in his body, so he used blood sacrifice to try to obtain power from the crystal ball again."

"But by mistake, my predecessor seemed to have bled too much. Because his body was too weak, his soul was devoured by the crystal ball..."

"So, to sum it up, I transmigrated?? And not into some club??"

Loren reviewed the memories, pushed himself up with a little effort, and sat on the floor.

Looking at the strange yet somewhat familiar environment around him, a strange feeling welled up in his heart.

"What is this supposed to mean?? I just had a few too many drinks with a client while talking business, how did I transmigrate??"

Immediately, as if remembering something, his heart tugged sharply.

His face suddenly showed a sense of helplessness and bewilderment, like a child who couldn't find the way home after dark.

"Then I... can I still go back?"

"Mom, little sister..."

His already low mood dropped rapidly, and his heart felt a sharp pain.

His father passed away early, and his mother spent countless efforts, endured cold eyes, and tasted all the bitterness to raise him and his little sister.

That sensible girl who wore a ponytail and had followed behind him since childhood calling him "brother, brother," and his mother with hands full of yellow calluses and an incredibly warm smile, were his only attachments and spiritual pillar.

Now, however...

Thinking that he might never see the scene of the little girl leaning on his knees eating something and calling him "brother" unclearly, his throat felt like it was blocked by something, and his nose felt sore.

Although he tried hard to suppress his emotions, the strong impact still made him unable to restrain himself.

Just at this moment, *creak*~

The door of the inn was suddenly pushed open, and a stunning girl wearing black armor, with a tall and graceful figure, like an angel descending to the mortal world, stepped into the room.
