30: Chapter 30 Dragonblood Kobold

"Ding~ Quest: The Kobold's Peering has been completed.

Reward: The allegiance of the Kobold Bloodline Mage has been issued; please claim it yourself."

Loren's first war in this world ended with the surrender of the Bloodline Mage Sim Claw.

After Sim Claw angrily ordered them to surrender, the high morale of the Kobolds visibly collapsed.

With the shift in momentum, the Barbarians in their Berserk state went on a killing spree.

If Loren hadn't stopped the Barbarians in time, there wouldn't have been a single survivor left on the field.

But because of that, he ended up with over a hundred prisoners in his hands.

Not long after, the battlefield was cleared.

After their Berserk state, the Barbarians were like deflated balloons, supporting each other on weak legs, their arms holding battle-axes trembling uncontrollably...

The boost in combat power gained by the Barbarians after entering a Berserk state could almost be described as exaggerated.

However, there is a trade-off; the day-long period of weakness following the Berserk state meant this skill could never be a regular ability.

Yet, despite their physically withered state, the spirits of these burly men were quite good, perhaps even euphoric.

Because after the war, everyone felt that their strength had increased.

The Barbarians lived on bitter, cold mountains, fighting magical beasts year-round and competing with brown bears for food, making them extremely sensitive to their own strength; they could clearly perceive even the slightest improvement.

Let alone when the improvement this time was so obvious.

Post-war statistics showed that a full 10 high-tier Bronze Rank Barbarians had advanced to low-tier Silver Rank during the battle.

These Barbarians howled with excitement, their gazes filled with fanatical worship as they looked at Loren.

This was the power bestowed by their new king!

Praise the Goddess!! Praise Lord Loren!!

The war was over, and the next step was cleanup work.

Dragging his weak body, Loren came to the area in front of the convoy where the wounded were being placed.

Nearly forty Barbarians were lying on the ground in this open space.

Their armor bore scorch marks from fire, the blood on their bodies had dried black, some wounds torn by sharp claws had raw flesh exposed, and some wounds even showed white bone...

Painful wails echoed in the air.

All the Barbarians were injured to some extent, but those wounded by ordinary Kobolds were not in serious trouble; with the Barbarians' physique, they would recover in a few days.

Only those affected by magic were in a worrying state; elemental power was devouring their lives, and ordinary healing methods were completely ineffective.

Loren's expression was cold as ice, the killing intent on him almost condensing into substance.

These Barbarians were his foundation, after all...

Standing on the side, the Kobold Bloodline Mage Sim Claw keenly sensed the cold glint in Loren's eyes, shuddered, and hurriedly looked away, his heart almost consumed by fear.

For some reason, even when facing the Barbarian Chieftain Yas and Fiana, those two Gold and Platinum Rank powerhouses, Sim Claw only felt anger.

Yet only when seeing Loren, who was calm and didn't even show a hint of anger or dissatisfaction toward him, did he feel an unspeakable fear in his heart.

That was the fear from the depths of the bloodline that a lower lifeform feels when facing a higher lifeform.

"How are their injuries?"

Loren turned his head to look at the Barbarian Chief beside him, his tone devoid of any emotion.

"Lord Loren, their bodies have been damaged by elemental energy. If those transcendent powers are not cleared, I fear..."

The burly Barbarian Chieftain Yas's face was filled with pain.

Although Barbarians do not fear death, no one wants to see their companions fall before them, especially killed by lowly Kobolds!

For the proud Barbarians, this was absolutely unacceptable.

Loren's gaze turned to Sim Claw, who was shrinking his head and playing dead on the side, and said indifferently.

"You should have a way to clear the elemental power inside their bodies, am I right?"

Sim Claw's body trembled, he summoned his courage to look up at Loren, his face looking worse than if he were crying.

"Yes, yes, my Lord... I should be able to clear it."

Loren nodded and gestured to Fiana.

"Help him release his power seal."

Fiana stared at Sim Claw, filled with vigilance.

"You stand behind me."

After instructing Loren, she stepped forward a few paces, and white-gold energy burned like flames from her body, instantly enveloping Sim Claw.

A few breaths later, a pale white energy rose from the Kobold Bloodline Mage's body and dissipated directly into mid-air.

His magic power was restored.

Before Sim could feel happy about the flow of magic power within his body, clang—a sharp longsword was placed against his neck, the cold touch of metal against his skin making his scalp tingle.

Fiana's tone was indifferent.

"Don't play any tricks, Kobold. I have definitely killed more Spellcasters than you can imagine..."

Sim's face stiffened, and he immediately behaved himself.

Under their vigilant gazes, he shakily came before the wounded.

"Respected lady, I need to circulate my magic power..."

"Hmm."

After receiving consent, Sim breathed a sigh of relief, magic power surged from his body, and a crimson fire elemental power began to condense.

A few breaths later, that elemental power enveloped the surrounding area of tens of meters.

The injured Barbarians lying on the ground suddenly let out extremely painful wails, but after the brief pain, the elemental power that had been eroding them dissipated into nothingness without them realizing it...

The previously dying Barbarians recovered some spirit in an instant, and their breathing stabilized.

Loren immediately used the Eye of Truth to check.

Barbarian

Level: High-tier Bronze Rank

Status: Seriously Injured

(Omitted)...

These thirty-plus people were originally in a near-death state; although they hadn't fully recovered yet, they had returned to a seriously injured state, and their lives were considered saved.

Loren breathed a sigh of relief. As long as they didn't die, with the Barbarians' tough physique, it wouldn't take long for them to be jumping around again.

After the Barbarians were out of danger, Loren's mood improved a lot. He opened the system panel again, and only now did he have the heart to check the quest reward obtained from defeating the Kobolds: the Kobold Bloodline Mage — Sim Claw.

With a bit of curiosity, he activated the Eye of Truth.

Sim Claw

Level: Low-tier Silver Rank

Bloodline: Dragon-Blooded Kobold (B+ Grade, Awakened)

Loyalty: 0 (May defect at any time)

Bond: Kobold Bloodline Mage. When the number of Kobolds nearby exceeds 100, Magic Power recovery speed increases by 30%, and spell power increases by 20%.

Evaluation: He has mastered powerful spells from his bloodline, and due to the faint dragon blood in his body, his spell power has been enhanced.

Loren felt his eyes were blinded; a Dragon-Blooded Kobold??

Looking at the silly creature in front of him wearing a black cloak and trembling under his gaze, his expression was quite colorful.

No wonder this guy's spell power was so great; this is just incredible!

No matter what lifeform it is, as long as it has a connection to a naturally transcendent species like a dragon, it will be extraordinary.

This Kobold's luck was simply off the charts...

He turned his head and glanced at the large hole blasted by magic in the distance and the thirty-plus Barbarians lying on the ground, his eyes narrowing slightly.

A Bloodline Mage who possesses dragon blood and has mastered two powerful spells—this quest reward was simply extravagant.

Not to mention Fireball, a second-circle spell, the third-circle spell that can make hundreds of Kobolds' combat power skyrocket—Bloodlust Sorcery—must be learned by a high-tier Gold Rank Mage.

Based on this one spell alone, the Kobold could be considered priceless.

In the Nuoer Main Plane, the number of Spellcasters is extremely scarce, and they have always been a top-tier power that is hard to come by.

With such a small base number, the number of Spellcasters who have mastered high-level spells above the third circle is even fewer, let alone a third-circle group magic like Bloodlust Sorcery.

Even under normal circumstances, such group buff magic requires a Platinum Rank Mage to learn; high-tier Gold Rank Mages are barely reaching the threshold to learn it...

Now that this Kobold who knows Bloodlust Sorcery has become his subordinate... rounding that up, doesn't that mean he possesses a Platinum Rank Mage?

In Decker City, wanting to hire a Silver Rank Spellcaster requires a huge expense, let alone Gold and Platinum Ranks; I fear the entire city doesn't even have 10 Platinum Rank Mages.

For a moment, Loren was in a great mood.

However, why hasn't this Kobold pledged his allegiance yet?

After pondering for a moment, Loren's heart stirred; the system prompt said it needed to be claimed manually??

He looked at the Kobold Mage with an indifferent gaze.

His voice carried no emotion.

"Sim Claw, you led your subordinates to attack my convoy, causing heavy casualties.

Now, in the name of the Grey Eagle Territory Lord, I judge your sins!"

"Fiana, seal his power."

Fiana nodded and once again used Platinum Rank energy to seal Sim Claw's magic power.

Loren stepped forward a few paces, took the cross-guard longsword from Fiana's hand, and placed the blade against Sim's neck while he wore a look of panic.

The cold touch of the blade came through his skin; Sim felt his whole body going weak, his gaze filled with terror as he looked at Loren.

What does this tyrant want to do??!

Loren's tone was cold.

"After my judgment, it is confirmed that you and all the Kobolds have committed unforgivable capital crimes.

Now you have two paths to take: one, defect to the Grey Eagle Territory to become my subordinate, pledge your allegiance to me, and atone for the sins you have committed.

Two, I will execute you, effective immediately."

Looking at Loren's eyes that had no fluctuation at all, Sim's heart completely collapsed.

No, he couldn't die here; he still had a future, he had only just awakened his bloodline a month ago!!

He didn't want to die, he didn't want to die!!

"No!! Great noble lord, I am still useful, you cannot kill me, you cannot kill me!!

I, I am willing to defect to you, I choose one! Choose one!!

I am willing to become your subordinate!!

I am a mage, there are still many spells in my bloodline that haven't awakened, you must believe me, I am still useful to you!!"

His tone was stuttering, and that Kobold face was filled with anxiety and panic, fearing that Loren would wave his hand and let the longsword slash his neck.

But his frantically struggling body was held tightly by two Barbarians behind him, which was of no use at all.

Loren nodded slowly and turned his head to look at Fiana.

"What he said makes sense?"

Fiana, with a cold expression, felt quite strange in her heart, then looked with some sympathy at the Kobold Mage who was frantically signaling her, his face full of desire for her to say a good word for him.

Why did she feel like she had seen this scene somewhere before... Did those Chamber of Commerce presidents who came to the inn to seek cooperation with him that morning encounter the same thing?
