37: Chapter 37 The Owner of the Manor

When Loren returned to the manor with Butler Bo'er, Fiana, having finished washing up and changed into a black warrior's uniform, appeared quietly before him.

The cold-tempered girl looked at Loren with a familiar expression of excitement, as if she had thought of something, her eyes subtle.

"Did you just change the classes of the soldiers?"

Seeing Loren nod, she was suddenly dazed; she suddenly realized she was finding it increasingly difficult to understand this young man.

She had originally thought that after his territory was breached on the Day of Blood, he was destined to fail, and might even lose his life by the next Day of Blood.

Yet, no one expected that in just a few short days, such a shocking transformation would occur in him.

From forming a Chamber of Commerce alliance to easily obtaining 25 million currency, to using Silver Power to hard-clash with a Barbarian Chief, and then effortlessly changing the classes of his subordinates into a Rare Class that required a large amount of training time...

That unremarkable young man was now full of a mystery that made one want to explore, possessing extraordinary charm.

Her tone carried a hint of complexity.

"How many more secrets are you hiding?"

Loren smiled slightly.

Carrying his hands behind his back, his gaze looked faintly into the distant sky, his words deep.

"I didn't have a choice before, but now I just want to be a good person."

The girl frowned deeply.

"What are you talking about?"

"Did you understand?"

"No."

"It's good that you don't understand; I was just saying it to brush you off..."

"You!!"

Fiana gritted her silver teeth, feeling that the bastard in front of her was so hateful that she wanted to step forward and kick him twice.

Old Butler Bo'er lagged a few steps behind, head bowed, eyes observing his nose and heart, appearing like an invisible person; he hadn't heard anything.

Loren laughed heartily a few times, then restrained his smile, his expression becoming solemn.

Staring into the girl's moving eyes, he said seriously.

"Thank you, Fiana."

After finishing, without any extra explanation, he took a deep look at her and turned to leave.

Fiana was stunned, watching Loren's retreating back, unable to recover for a long time.

She understood the meaning of those words...

Returning to the main hall, as soon as Loren sat down, two maids wearing black and white maid uniforms immediately entered the room to brew tea.

Both maids were eighteen or nineteen years old, their youthful appearance adding a touch of color to the room.

Loren picked up the porcelain white teacup engraved with the Bauhinia pattern and slowly took a sip of the warm black tea.

The hot tea entered his abdomen from his throat, bringing warmth along the way, and his fatigue receded significantly.

He waved his hand, signaling the maid who was about to step forward to massage his shoulders to retreat.

"No need, you all go about your work; I have important matters to discuss with Mr. Bo'er."

The two maids looked at Loren's near-perfect face, exchanged disappointed glances, pulled their skirts to curtsy elegantly, and turned to leave.

Only, they all felt a bit resentful in their hearts.

They finally had a chance to have intimate contact with Master Loren, yet they failed to seize it...

"Bo'er, have those Frogmen made any moves in the last few days?"

Loren looked at the butler beside him, his eyes sharp as a hawk.

The white-haired Bo'er's expression turned ugly when he heard the name Frogmen.

"Master, those Frogmen live in the water, on a small island in the middle of the lake. We don't have ships and cannot cause them any substantial damage."

"However, they don't seem very interested in us either. Apart from suddenly appearing to attack us on the Day of Blood, they haven't launched any more attacks on us, and haven't even come to the shore again..."

On the last Day of Blood, because the Grey Eagle Territory had few people, the number of Bloody Corruptors attracted was only a few dozen.

With Fiana, a powerful Platinum Expert, sitting in command, it was possible to defend at that time.

But at the last moment, a group of brutal Frogmen surged out from the lake nearby.

Those amphibious creatures with fish gills on their faces, capable of breathing underwater, launched a sneak attack on the Grey Eagle Territory.

Caught completely unprepared, the territory was attacked from both sides.

The army suffered heavy casualties because of this, and most of the residents were slaughtered.

It was only because the Bloody Corruptors breached the territory at the very last moment and left immediately after the blood moon faded that the entire territory wasn't wiped out.

"Those damn mercenaries, they actually dared to deceive us!"

The location information for the Grey Eagle Territory was bought by Loren at a tavern for one million currency from a mercenary squad.

Butler Bo'er was also present at the time, but the other party didn't tell them anything about the Frogmen in the lake; they had suffered a huge loss from this.

A cold glint flashed in Loren's eyes; some debts would be settled sooner or later.

"The strength of the Frogmen in the lake is not strong. With preparation, they cannot stir up much trouble."

The lake water was a natural barrier. Without ships, the difficulty of wiping out those Frogmen was too great, and the Grey Eagle Territory didn't have that many resources to spend on this.

"The current priority of work should be placed on improving the territory's defensive strength and the army's strength."

"After the City Hall is built, I will lead the army out to hunt magical beasts to improve the army's strength."

As his words fell, Loren looked at the white-haired old butler with an exceptionally serious gaze.

"Bo'er, after I return to the Grey Eagle Territory, everything will inevitably change."

"I am no longer the me of the past. From this moment on, the Grey Eagle Territory will bloom with brilliant radiance."

"We will inevitably stand tall on the Endless Wasteland!"

Looking at Loren, who was firm, determined, and full of confidence.

Butler Bo'er's heart shook; he remembered the scene of dozens of Human Soldiers changing into a Rare Class in the blink of an eye.

His eyes showed a hint of excitement.

"Master, I look forward to the day when the territory, under your leadership, stands proudly on the Endless Wasteland and becomes the dream land that everyone yearns for..."

Loren nodded slowly, "Everything will come to pass."

His conviction was as firm as steel.

"Master Loren, Mr. Bo'er, the kitchen has prepared food. Would you like to enjoy it now?"

Just as the two were talking, a chubby kitchen auntie cautiously entered the room to report, carrying a thick smell of cooking fumes.

Loren waved his hand.

"Wait a moment. Bo'er, go call Daina and Dean; I want to discuss the construction of the City Hall and the rebuilding of the arrow tower with them."

The rewards for these two tasks were precious; the sooner they were completed, the sooner he could rest easy.

Butler Bo'er also spoke up, "Mary, you go down first, and wait for my notice before sending the food over."

The fat auntie nodded quickly and also curtsied by pulling her skirt.

However, the fat auntie doing this action was completely different compared to those two delicate maids; it was like a round meatball wriggling...

After the fat auntie returned to the backyard kitchen, several young maids who were working immediately put down the plates and bowls in their hands and crowded around, chattering and asking questions.

"Auntie Mary, does Master Loren need to dine?"

"Is the Master really as handsome as Annie and the others said?"

"This time, let me go up to serve the meal. Auntie Mary, I haven't seen Master Loren yet."

Auntie Mary laughed, "Master Loren is definitely the most handsome young man I have ever seen, but I advise you not to think too much."

"Master's guardian, Lady Fiana, is not someone you maids can compare to."

"Hurry up and work; there are hundreds of people in the backyard waiting for food..."

Sigh... The maids wailed instantly, dispersed unhappily, and continued to work in the kitchen.

There was a clear hierarchy in the manor. Loren, as the master of the manor and the owner of the Grey Eagle Territory, was the only sovereign on this land, the ruler sitting on the throne.

Butler Bo'er below him was a second-level existence.

Continuing down, logically it should be male servants and the like who symbolize the face of the manor. Having a team of tall, strong, and powerful male servants has always been the facade of the nobility.

But because the Grey Eagle Territory was still very simple, there were no male servants here for the time being.

Finally, it was the turn of ordinary maids and kitchen cooks.

Although the manor was not big, there were many things to be busy with every day. Under the high-pressure situation, the master of the manor, Loren, was undoubtedly the object and focus of all the maids' discussions.

If some lucky maid were favored by the master, perhaps she could directly turn things around and become the mistress, which would be too lucky.

Of course, the most a maid could become was a concubine, but even so, her status would be countless times higher than that of an ordinary maid.

What's more, Master Loren was such a handsome and outstanding young man? This was all just too wonderful...

Thinking about it this way, the daily work of serving tea and water for Loren, and even going to Loren's room to clean, would be competed for by the maids.
