42: Chapter 42 I visualized myself

The bolder the person, the greater the harvest.

Loren was not a soul of this world, so he did not possess that much reverence.

Since he had decided to do it, he would not give up.

After taking a few deep breaths, he suppressed the waves within his heart, and his mood returned to calm.

Then, he mobilized the memories imprinted within his Demon Grand Duke Bloodline, and in an instant, a demon three meters tall, with blood-colored wings on its back, two sharp horns on its head, and an aura of infinite might radiating from its body, appeared in his mind.

The terrifying aura felt like a ten-thousand-foot mountain collapsing down; such an overwhelming force was simply not something a mortal could contend with.

Even though it was merely a phantom, Loren felt as if he were facing a terrifying existence that loomed over space and time.

Demon Grand Duke!

What terrifying pressure.

Loren's mind shook.

He took several deep breaths to suppress the shock in his heart and began to carefully examine this phantom of the Demon Grand Duke.

It was a pure killing machine; its body was covered in hideous barbs, and its fingers were as sharp as daggers, slicing through even a warrior's shield as if it were thin paper.

A curved barb along its spine looked like a javelin, appearing full of ferocity.

Its blood-colored eyes carried brutality and slaughter; even though it was just a phantom, Loren's heart would still be impacted upon seeing those eyes—it evidently possessed some kind of powerful bloodline talent.

If one were to truly face such a terrifying creature, one would likely need to mobilize tens of thousands of troops to cope with it.

It was too horrifying.

After a long while, Loren regained his senses.

A bit of excitement rose within his heart.

The Demon Grand Duke was definitely a terrifying lifeform on par with a dragon.

His current Demon Grand Duke Bloodline was still in its initial stage; he would have to wait until it rose to Platinum, Transcendent, or even Legendary to unearth its potential.

Without further hesitation, he began to mobilize his mental power to construct the form of the Demon Grand Duke.

Although he had a reference point nearby—and he was, in fact, the Demon Grand Duke himself—the difficulty involved was still like ascending to the heavens.

Merely condensing the exterior form with mental power was already exhausting, let alone simulating the pressure of the Demon Grand Duke's phantom with mental power.

He was currently only at the Silver Rank initial stage; peeking into such an epic-level lifeform was definitely a hell-level difficulty.

After trying dozens of times, he could only barely construct a simple appearance with his mental power, and the mental energy consumption was immense.

Just as he began to construct it, a single arm or a wing would cause the phantom to collapse.

And every time he failed to construct it, it would cause a backlash, and his mind would sting as if pricked by needles.

But Loren was never one to admit defeat; relying on his tenacious and resolute mindset, he gritted his teeth and persisted.

But failure would not cease because of that.

Time and time again, success seemed to become an extremely slim luxury.

The difficulty of visualizing the Demon Grand Duke exceeded his imagination.

In the end, Loren became somewhat numb, his face deathly pale, and his muscles twitching unconsciously from the pain.

But even so, he was still struggling to construct it.

When he had lost count of how many times he had failed, and his mind was extremely exhausted, he entered a special state.

At this moment, it felt as if everything around him had slowed down.

Subsequently, in this state, he had a realization and quietly outlined a phantom that was completely different from the Demon Grand Duke.

Even the face could not be seen clearly; only two wings indicated the identity of the phantom.

But the completion level this time was unprecedentedly high.

However, the good times did not last; after the phantom construction was completed, it only lasted for the blink of an eye before collapsing.

And this impact was exceptionally strong; the collapsing mental energy was like a hurricane, instantly causing him extreme pain.

Loren's vision went black, and he passed out instantly.

After a long while.

Sensing the coldness coming from his body, Loren, with a groggy mind, slowly opened his eyes.

Loren turned his head to look around; the dimness in the room had no effect on him whatsoever.

Demons possessed a natural night vision ability; even in a dark environment, it was as bright as day to a demon.

The moonlight from the two moons outside poured down like quicksilver, shining through the glass onto the furniture inside the room, casting a dim shadow.

At this time, the steaming hot water had already turned completely cold, and the candles in the room had long since burned out and extinguished.

The deficit in his mental power felt like a heavy weight stuffed into his mind, making him feel that everything around him was extremely heavy.

Loren revealed a wry smile.

"I was overconfident. I didn't expect that merely constructing a phantom of the Demon Grand Duke would exhaust all of my mental power. No wonder the descendants of this generation of the Bauhinia Family only visualize the Bauhinia..."

"It's not that they don't want to visualize other things; it's just that they truly can't do it."

After he awakened his dual bloodline, his mental power had long since exceeded the limit of the Silver Rank, and perhaps even an early-stage Gold Rank might not possess such powerful mental strength as he did.

But even so, visualizing the Demon Grand Duke still caused a huge deficit.

From this, it can be seen that ordinary descendants of the Bauhinia Family would likely end up with their kidneys drained just like him if they were to visualize a magical beast.

Splash. Getting out of the water, Loren wiped himself clean, changed into comfortable pajamas, and lay down on the bed with a pale face.

The air immediately quieted down, and only then did Loren discover that although his mental power was depleted, the new mental power seemed to be a bit tougher than before.

Although it wasn't obvious, he could clearly sense it.

This made him feel quite comforted; fortunately, this masochistic act had not insignificant gains, otherwise, he would have really been at a loss.

While pondering, Loren slowly fell asleep.

Early the next morning, Loren was awakened by the dazzling light shining into the room.

Opening his eyes, it was already bright daylight.

Turning his head to look out the window, the orange-red sun was already slowly floating up, and the morning glow covered the entire sky, looking quite spectacular.

Loren got up and stretched comfortably.

After a night's rest, the mental power that was depleted yesterday had now fully recovered, and his mental power had also clearly improved.

His perception of the outside world had become even more acute.

Loren sensed for a moment and nodded with satisfaction.

"With my current state, maintaining such a trend of increase, it won't take a week before I can advance to the Silver Rank intermediate stage."

After pondering for a moment, he turned around and found a set of black training clothes in the wardrobe, rustling as he put them on.

A moment later, a heroic and extraordinary young man appeared in the room.

He pushed the door open and walked out.

Two maids had just arrived outside the room, and upon seeing that Loren had already changed his clothes and stepped out, their expressions changed immediately; they hurriedly pulled their skirts, bowed slightly to salute, and after rising, immediately lowered their heads and said nervously.

"Master Loren, we are very sorry, we are late..."

Serving Loren to change clothes should have originally been the job of a manservant, but there were no manservants in the manor, so the task fell to these two maids.

Letting the master dress himself was absolutely a dereliction of their duty.

Loren waved his hand; he really had no fondness for these cumbersome noble rules.

"No need to worry, I am not accustomed to outsiders serving me while I dress. You may leave."

Seeing that Loren did not blame them, the two maids breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, they gratefully glanced at the young man, who was so handsome that he made people's hearts beat faster, and then, blushing, they turned and left.

After going downstairs, the two maids immediately grew bold and began to chatter away.

"Master Loren is truly kind; he didn't even punish us."

"We are really lucky to be able to serve such a handsome noble as Master Loren. Anna, you say, if only Master could take a fancy to me..."

"Doma, stop dreaming..."

"Hmph, I don't believe you haven't thought about it. The look in your eyes just now when you were looking at Master was practically dripping with desire..."

"I did not..."

"What are you discussing? Is the kitchen work finished?" At the corner of the stairs, a dignified voice made the two maids' bodies stiffen instantly.

"Butler Boer..."

The white-haired Boer kept a straight face, possessing the most standard elegance and serious demeanor of a noble butler.

Seeing the pitiful appearance of the two girls, his expression finally softened.

"In the future, don't gossip about Master behind his back. If I hear it again, don't blame me for punishing you next time..."

"Thank you for your mercy, Butler Boer. We will never do it again."

The two maids who were caught red-handed quickly thanked him, and after finishing, they immediately trotted down the stairs.

After Boer was out of sight, they looked at each other, and then the two nervous girls suddenly giggled and burst into laughter.
