115: Chapter 115 are all valuable.

The Counter Attendant's attitude made Ye Qingqing a little uncomfortable, but it was also within reason.

Ye Qingqing unhurriedly took out a pack of cigarettes from her pocket.

They weren't good cigarettes, but they should be enough.

The Counter Attendant, who hadn't taken Ye Qingqing seriously at first, was stunned when she saw the pack of cigarettes.

"Are... are you sure you want to exchange this pack of cigarettes for credits?"

The Counter Attendant glanced at Ye Qingqing, then at Li Qingshan and Su Miaomiao standing beside her.

She subconsciously assumed that Ye Qingqing had been deceived by these two.

Perhaps these two had even squeezed quite a few benefits out of Ye Qingqing.

Cigarettes, alcohol, and tea were hot commodities in this base now.

The capitalists who only smoked fine cigarettes before the Post-Apocalyptic World were now collecting any kind of cigarette they could find.

One catty of Coarse Grain could be exchanged for 1 credit.

One catty of Fine Grain could be exchanged for 5 credits.

Except for the first month which was free, the Large Dormitory cost 10 credits thereafter.

A single room was 50 credits, but it didn't have a bathroom; things like showering were all done in communal facilities.

There were also Apartment Suites for 200 credits, which had private bathrooms.

Two-bedroom units were 300 credits, and three-bedroom units were 4,000.

Detached small buildings were somewhat expensive, requiring 1,000 credits.

A pack of cigarettes now could be exchanged for 5 catties of Fine Grain, which was 2,500 credits.

So at this moment, Ye Qingqing could directly exchange a pack of cigarettes for a house.

But that wasn't enough.

Ye Qingqing glanced at the Counter Attendant and then took out another pack of cigarettes.

Two packs of cigarettes, 500 credits in total.

The Counter Attendant looked at Ye Qingqing as if she were looking at some kind of massive sucker.

Fearing that Ye Qingqing didn't understand the value of these cigarettes, she specifically asked a question.

"Have... have you thought this through? You'd better be sure; these cigarettes are like gold before the Post-Apocalyptic World—they all retain their value."

"And the world is so chaotic now. These two packs of cigarettes might be of great use later. Are you... sure you want to exchange them for credits?"

Ye Qingqing smiled upon hearing this.

"Exchange them. I need credits right now."

Hearing this, the Counter Attendant still felt it was a pity in her heart, but she didn't say anything more.

Ye Qingqing's cigarettes were just the most ordinary kind; if they were better ones, they might be exchangeable for even more credits now.

Looking at the 500 credits on the card, Ye Qingqing thought to herself that if she exchanged the supplies in her space for credits, her current net worth might even qualify her as the richest person around.

Li Qingshan and Su Miaomiao had never seen so many credits either. Looking at the credits in Ye Qingqing's hand, their throats bobbed as they swallowed.

They quickly looked away.

They took Ye Qingqing to the place where housing was rented.

Ye Qingqing turned her head and asked Su Miaomiao and Li Qingshan where they lived.

Su Miaomiao and Li Qingshan were Scavengers who usually went out to earn credits themselves. Both now lived in single rooms; although the public hygiene was a bit poor,

it was still much better than the Large Dormitory.

So there was no need for Ye Qingqing to continue supporting them, but she would still need Su Miaomiao and Li Qingshan to provide cover for her in the Scavenger team later.

After all, living in this base, it was impossible to simply not work; it would arouse suspicion.

Therefore, the Scavenger team was very suitable for Ye Qingqing.

Ye Qingqing rented a suite for 2 months, which was exactly 400 credits, and then pre-deposited 500 for utilities.

It was just enough for the expenses.

Looking at the balance on the card, Ye Qingqing suddenly felt that living in this base was quite expensive.

"Alright, you can just drop me off here. You guys go back first, and come find me here in the evening."

This was what Ye Qingqing said to them when Su Miaomiao and Li Qingshan brought her to the bottom of the apartment building she had rented.

Upon hearing this, Su Miaomiao and Li Qingshan immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

However, before leaving, Ye Qingqing gave each of them a chocolate bar.

Consider it a fee for their hard work.

These chocolates weren't the off-brand ones she had given to the gate guard earlier.

When Li Qingshan and Su Miaomiao saw them, they were both struck with surprise, but because there were other people passing by,

they both quickly stuffed the chocolates into their bags.

Ye Qingqing took Ah Huang upstairs with her.

The rented suite was on the 6th floor.

There were 8 units per floor.

She happened to be in the unit on the far left.

It was currently close to dawn, and those who were supposed to rest had begun to do so.

So Ye Qingqing didn't run into anyone.

This was convenient for her.

After all, she was still with Ah Huang; if they were seen, it might attract some gossip.

The layout of the single room was no different from a studio apartment before the Post-Apocalyptic World: a rectangular room with a cramped bathroom.

There was no kitchen, only a simple countertop that could be used as a rudimentary kitchen area.

It was just enough to fit an induction cooker.

Ye Qingqing had no special requirements; having a place to stay was enough.

However, the room was completely bare—just a simple concrete room.

Ye Qingqing still found it a bit hard to live in.

So she prepared to renovate it a bit.

The electricity that had just been connected to the room finally came on.

There was a central Air Conditioner on the ceiling. When Ye Qingqing turned it on and the cold air blew out, Ah Huang let out a long sigh of relief.

Ah Huang's internal monologue: It's hot enough to kill a dog; this weather isn't fit for a dog to stay in.

Ye Qingqing took many ice blocks out of her space and placed them in the corners of the room.

Before the Air Conditioner's temperature could drop, physical cooling was still the best method.

At the same time, Ye Qingqing also took floor mats out of her space.

The room wasn't large, so it didn't take much time to lay them out.

The entire room was roughly 4 meters long and 3 meters wide.

It wasn't huge, but it was enough for one person and one dog.

After finishing the floor mats, Ye Qingqing also put out a 1.5-meter bed and a 1.2-meter small sofa.

The small sofa was very wide, enough for Ah Huang to sleep on.

This saved the space needed for a dog bed.

A small coffee table would serve as Ye Qingqing's dining table for the time being.

As for other furniture, she would deal with it when she needed it later.

By the time Ye Qingqing finished all this, the sky outside was already bright.

At this point, she remembered she didn't have curtains yet.

She chose a very light-blocking curtain; there were drill-free curtains in her space, which was convenient.

It was also fortunate that the window wasn't large.

If it were a large floor-to-ceiling window, Ye Qingqing really wouldn't have known what to do for a moment.

After tidying everything up, Ye Qingqing finally stretched her back.

She looked at Ah Huang and felt it was time to give him a bath.

After all, he had been fighting continuously before, and who knows where he had picked up the scent of the Sheep-Eating Clan.

Ye Qingqing had been using fragrant powder to cover the smell on Ah Huang's body.

Now that they had reached a new place, it was time to give Ah Huang a good cleaning.

And so, Ah Huang, who had just stretched his body and was about to jump onto the sofa, was dragged into the bathroom.
