120: Chapter 12 Let's look at your hands

This Huo Sixian seemed almost too handsome.

"Is everyone here?" Huo Sixian asked in a deep voice.

He then looked around, scanning the room.

"Since almost everyone is here, let's begin today's meeting."

"Those of you who have seen me before have likely noticed the change in my appearance, but this face isn't my most significant change."

"Next, I will demonstrate the changes in my body. I hope no one is too shocked."

The people in the conference room listened to Huo Sixian's words, momentarily confused about what he was talking about.

They exchanged glances, waiting to see what kind of tricks Huo Sixian could pull off.

Huo Sixian slowly extended his hands and placed them on the table.

Even Huo Cunsheng didn't know what Huo Sixian intended to do for a moment.

Xu Yousheng even let out a cold snort through his nose: "Being so mysterious... did you gather everyone here just to look at your hands?"

Huo Sixian glanced sideways at Xu Yousheng.

In the blink of an eye, Xu Yousheng suddenly felt a flash of fire and dry heat before him.

The smell of burning hair filled the air.

Xu Yousheng watched helplessly as a large ball of red flame appeared right in front of him.

The fireball hung suspended in mid-air, right before Xu Yousheng's eyes.

The sparks radiating from the fireball singed a few of the sparse hairs on Xu Yousheng's head, which was the source of the burnt smell.

Xu Yousheng let out a cry of alarm and instinctively recoiled.

However, since Xu Yousheng was sitting in a chair, his center of gravity became unstable as he retreated.

He fell over, chair and all.

Xu Yousheng screamed, "Ah! What the hell!"

He didn't forget to cover his hair with his hands.

No one around laughed at Xu Yousheng because everyone's eyes were now fixed on Huo Sixian.

A red fireball had suddenly appeared in Huo Sixian's hand, and it had split in two—one in Huo Sixian's hand and one in front of Xu Yousheng.

Everyone in the conference room held their breath. Because of this turn of events, everyone looked at Huo Sixian as if he were a monster.

Huo Sixian didn't react to this.

He leisurely withdrew the fireball.

Then, a ball of lightning instantly erupted from his other hand.

Xu Yousheng had just scrambled up from the ground.

Before he could even steady himself, a layer of Lightning Mesh surrounded him.

Having already suffered once, Xu Yousheng didn't react physically this time; he just stood there, his eyes filled with terror.

The Lightning Mesh emitted a purple glow.

It felt as though he would be electrocuted the moment he touched the mesh.

The conference room gradually fell into silence.

An eerie atmosphere filled the air.

The looks directed at Huo Sixian were no longer those reserved for a monster.

Instead, they turned into fear and dread.

What kind of person could actually control lightning and fire?

Some speculated in their hearts that the power balance of this base was bound to change.

Seeing that Xu Yousheng had learned his lesson, Huo Sixian didn't say anything more.

He then leisurely withdrew the Lightning Mesh.

Everyone watched as the Lightning Mesh seemed to have a consciousness of its own, slowly contracting and then forming into a Lightning Ball.

Finally, it turned into a wisp of purple Lightning Thread and retracted into Huo Sixian's hand.

When Xu Yousheng saw the Lightning Mesh around him disappear, his throat bobbed involuntarily.

His body couldn't help but heave a sigh of relief.

Huo Sixian glanced at the crowd and then at Huo Cunsheng.

Huo Cunsheng was different from the others.

When Huo Cunsheng looked at Huo Sixian, his eyes were filled with worry.

Huo Sixian shook his head at Huo Cunsheng, signaling that he was fine.

The air was silent; no one spoke.

Seeing this, Huo Sixian continued.

"As you have all seen, this is the most significant change that has occurred within my body."

"While I was out, I was injured and then developed a high fever that wouldn't break. Once the fever subsided, I awakened these abilities."

After Huo Sixian finished speaking, he scanned the crowd again and found everyone waiting quietly for him to continue.

Huo Sixian didn't hold back and continued speaking in a deep voice.

"I call this a Superpower."

Xu Yousheng felt a sense of panic, sensing that Huo Sixian's gaze was unfriendly when directed at him.

In the next second, Huo Sixian spoke again.

"Before I arrived at the base, I was on the Warship. I believe everyone knows there was a dog on the Warship. Previously, Chief Xu's daughter was very interested in that dog."

"She repeatedly sent Private Soldiers to capture it. That dog has undergone the same changes as I have."

Huo Sixian didn't say anything more.

But everyone present understood clearly.

Because Huo Sixian had stated very clearly that they were Xu Yousheng's Private Soldiers.

If Xu Yousheng had captured Ah Huang back then, what would have happened to Ah Huang?

Would he have been seized by Xu Yousheng, or would he have lost his life at Xu Yousheng's hands?

No matter the outcome, it wouldn't have been a good thing for the base.

Xu Yousheng's back felt cold; Huo Sixian's words had undoubtedly put him on the spot.

Furthermore, with the strength Huo Sixian had just displayed, almost no one in this conference room dared to defy him.

Even before the Post-Apocalyptic World, the rule was that the strong were respected, let alone in this Post-Apocalyptic World where countless deaths and shifts in power occurred daily.

Xu Yousheng's face turned slightly red as he looked at Huo Sixian: "Si Yan, what do you mean by that?"

"How could I not know about the things my daughter did?"

"What Private Soldiers? Don't talk nonsense!"

Xu Yousheng was certainly not stupid enough to admit it directly.

But his words now were a classic case of 'protesting too much.'

"Don't be anxious, Chief Xu. As a Chief, it's only natural for your subordinates to be sent to handle private matters. Besides, it's unsafe in the Post-Apocalyptic World, so sending a few soldiers to protect your daughter isn't a big deal."

Hearing Huo Sixian's words, Xu Yousheng's face turned bright red.

He immediately grew agitated.

"Huo Sixian, I'm warning you! Don't ruin my reputation with such nonsense!"

"I, Xu Yousheng, have been a soldier my whole life and have always been clean and upright!"

Huo Cunsheng, sitting at the head of the table, could no longer listen.

His mind was currently filled with thoughts of how Huo Sixian had been injured.

He felt a bit impatient listening to Xu Yousheng's words.

He tapped the table lightly.

"Enough. You know in your heart whether you did it or not. Now is not the time to deal with your issues."

Huo Cunsheng's words directly sealed the guilt for Xu Yousheng.
