508: Chapter 508 That place is off-limits!

Ye Chen's gaze fell upon the entrance hallway.

There, a messy clump of grey aura lingered, entwined with a faint trace of cyan.

The cyan represented a martial artist's residual True Qi.

It belonged to an expert of at least the Mid Earth Realm.

Ye Chen didn't rush to examine the cyan aura; instead, he continued to expand the range of his perception.

In the center of the living room, near the sofa, there was a patch of air that had clearly been disturbed.

Those were signs of a fight.

The flow of the aura was chaotic.

Bai Shanshan had engaged in combat here.

Ye Chen followed the direction of the turbulent flow, walking forward step by step.

His pace was slow, and each step felt as if he were treading on invisible lute strings.

Bai Wanqing followed behind him, watching him walk around the room with his eyes closed, an indescribable feeling in her heart.

What on earth was this man doing?

Performing some sort of ritual?

It didn't look like it...

She had seen rituals before, and those scenes were far more eerie than what Ye Chen was displaying now.

Ye Chen walked through the living room and turned into the bedroom.

The scene in the bedroom was even more chaotic than the living room.

The bedsheets had been torn off, crumpled into a ball, and thrown on the floor.

The drawer of the nightstand had been pulled out entirely and overturned onto the bed, its contents scattered everywhere.

But Ye Chen's gaze did not linger on this mess.

He stared at the wall behind the nightstand.

An extremely faint aura remained on it.

The aura was so weak it had almost dissipated into the world, but Ye Chen still managed to capture it.

It was a trace of Buddhist aura.

It didn't come from a statue or a scripture, but was an aura truly tainted by a Buddha's presence.

The buddha head had once been placed in this spot.

Bai Shanshan had hidden the buddha head behind the nightstand.

Ye Chen took a deep breath and expanded his perception once more, this time covering the entire bedroom.

Soon, he found Bai Shanshan's aura.

It was a clump of aura with a faint golden hue.

Bai Shanshan practiced mental object control, so her aura was relatively strong and particularly conspicuous.

That clump of aura extended from the living room all the way to the bedroom, lingered by the bed for a moment, and then—

Snapped.

It hadn't dissipated; it was as if it had been forcibly cut off by something.

Ye Chen's brow furrowed slightly as he extended his perception further forward.

The bedroom window.

On the windowsill, there was a very, very shallow mark, as if someone had flipped in from the outside and tapped the sill with their toe.

Ye Chen walked to the window and reached out to push it open.

The wind rushed in, fluttering the curtains.

He leaned out to glance at the exterior wall.

The exterior wall of the sixth floor was smooth, with nowhere to gain leverage.

But at the edge of the windowsill, Ye Chen captured that cyan aura again.

Mid Earth Realm martial artists.

And more than one.

Judging by the density of the marks, at least three people had flipped into this bedroom from the outside.

Ye Chen withdrew his gaze, closed his eyes, and extended the tentacles of his perception outward.

The technique [Earth Vein Tracking] was originally only capable of sensing the traces of living people within a certain range.

But now, with Ye Chen's Golden Core Stage cultivation, as long as there was a strong enough medium, he could cross even greater distances to track someone's whereabouts.

In the bedroom, although Bai Shanshan's aura had been cut off, the people who kidnapped her were tainted with her aura.

The direction those people left in was the direction Bai Shanshan had been taken.

Ye Chen's perception spread outward from the windowsill, along the exterior wall, and diffused in all directions...

A few seconds later.

Ye Chen opened his eyes and withdrew his perception.

His expression was calm, but deep in his eyes, a trace of coldness was slowly gathering.

Bai Wanqing stood behind him, and seeing him open his eyes, she finally couldn't help but ask, "What... did you find?"

Ye Chen turned around and looked at her.

"Your sister has been kidnapped, and the buddha head was taken as well."

Bai Wanqing's face turned a shade paler. "Can you find out who did it?"

Ye Chen didn't answer directly. Instead, he walked to the living room, took out his phone, and dialed a number.

The phone rang twice before Yan Qingwu's annoyed voice came from the other end.

"What now?"

Ye Chen leaned against the wall, his tone casual. "I'm back in Xiamen City."

"And?"

"Tell me, are there any temples on the sea around Xiamen City?"

The other end of the line went silent for two seconds.

Yan Qingwu was clearly taken aback before she replied, "There is one temple, and it's actually a nunnery. This temple isn't open to the public, and only women are allowed to enter."

Ye Chen raised an eyebrow.

"Are there experts inside?"

"Yes."

Yan Qingwu's tone became serious. "But at most they are at the Heaven Realm, not as strong as you. However, they are connected to the Shenni Nunnery in the Kunlun Ruins, and that Shenni Nunnery is exceptionally powerful..."

She paused, suddenly realizing something.

"Wait... why are you asking this?"

Ye Chen spoke flatly, "They took one of my friends."

Yan Qingwu was stunned.

"Wait..."

"This nunnery generally doesn't involve itself in the secular world. Are you sure you haven't made a mistake?"

"No mistake."

Ye Chen straightened up and said indifferently, "I'll go resolve this first. Don't go tipping them off."

Yan Qingwu: "..."

She took a deep breath, feeling speechless.

He just got back and he's already looking for trouble?

"Suit yourself, just don't go killing anyone,"

Yan Qingwu said helplessly. "That nunnery is called the Qingyin Nunnery. It's on a small island about thirty nautical miles southeast of Xiamen City. There are no shipping routes; ordinary people can't find it."

"Got it."

Ye Chen hung up the phone and turned around.

Others might not be able to find it.

But Ye Chen was different.

The location of that temple had long been exposed to him; he just wanted to confirm if it was actually there.

Otherwise...

Wouldn't it be a wasted trip?

Since someone had snatched Bai Shanshan, then he wouldn't hold back.

Bai Wanqing stood behind him, her expression grave. "Found a lead?"

Ye Chen nodded.

"I have a general idea of where it is."

Bai Wanqing was shocked.

Good heavens!

Ye Chen had just walked around the villa once and then made a single phone call, and now he knew her sister's whereabouts?

This was far more miraculous than she had imagined...

After hearing Ye Chen's words, Bai Wanqing didn't hesitate.

"I'm going with you."

Ye Chen glanced at her and didn't refuse.

Because he knew Bai Wanqing too well.

This woman might look like a graceful lady, but deep down, she was made of the same stuff as her hot-tempered sister, Bai Shanshan.

There was no stopping her.

"Let's go."

Ye Chen didn't waste words and turned to walk out.

Bai Wanqing immediately followed.

The two left the villa. Ye Chen took the keys and took over the driving.

Then.

He started the car and drove straight toward the pier.

Bai Wanqing, meanwhile, pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

When the call connected, she said only one sentence: "Old Zhao, get a boat to the Xiamen City pier."

"Yes, President."

The other end responded, and Bai Wanqing hung up.

Ye Chen glanced at her sideways. "You keep a boat?"

"Tianyao Group has boats."

Bai Wanqing spoke calmly, "Sometimes we need to transport medicinal materials by sea. It's coming in handy now."

Ye Chen didn't say anything more.

The car sped along and arrived at the Xiamen City pier twenty minutes later.

The wind at the pier was very strong.

A white yacht was moored quietly by the shore. It wasn't very large, but its lines were sleek. Two people stood on the deck, looking toward the shore.

Bai Wanqing parked the car and walked onto the pier with Ye Chen.

"President Bai!"

A lean man in his fifties on the deck hurried to meet them. His skin was tanned dark, clearly an old sailor who had spent half his life drifting at sea.

"Uncle Zhao." Bai Wanqing nodded to him. "Thank you for the hard work."

"It's no trouble, no trouble at all."

Uncle Zhao grinned. "It's rare for you to use the boat, President Bai. I couldn't be happier."

Behind him stood a tall, sturdy young man in his early thirties, wearing a dark blue sailor shirt. He gave Bai Wanqing a simple, honest smile. "Hello, President Bai."

Bai Wanqing nodded and stepped aside to introduce Ye Chen.

"This is my friend, Mr. Ye. He's in charge today."

Uncle Zhao and the young man exchanged a glance, their eyes lingering on Ye Chen for a moment.

The young man before them was wearing a white shirt and looked refined, like an office worker. He didn't look like someone who was about to head out to sea at all.

However, Uncle Zhao had spent most of his life on the sea and knew what to ask and what not to ask.

"Hello, Mr. Ye!"

He gave a friendly greeting. "You can just call me Old Zhao. This is my nephew, Little Zhao. The two of us will handle the boat for you, don't you worry!"

Ye Chen nodded. "Thank you."

The group boarded the yacht.

Old Zhao and Little Zhao took their positions. The engine roared, and the yacht slowly pulled away from the pier, cutting through the azure sea as it headed southeast.

Once the boat left the harbor, the view became vast.

Old Zhao held the helm in the cockpit and called back to Ye Chen on the deck, "Mr. Ye, which direction are we heading?"

Ye Chen took out his phone, opened the map, glanced at the coordinates Yan Qingwu had sent, and reported a location.

"118 degrees 26 minutes East, 24 degrees 18 minutes North. That direction."

Old Zhao was taken aback as he entered the coordinates into the navigator.

The next second.

His face turned pale instantly.

"Mr. Ye, are... are you sure you want to go there?"

Ye Chen looked at his expression and asked flatly, "What's wrong?"

Old Zhao swallowed hard, his face filled with terror.

"You can't go to that place!"
