770: Chapter 770 I'll Turn You All into Slaves!

That's right.

Euphemia had already told him about the High Priest's power.

Although she hadn't explained exactly what it was, Ye Chen had already guessed that the other party intended to use the power in the High Priest's hands to deal with him.

Merely demoting their titles was already giving the Empress of Eagle Country plenty of face.

The hall was deathly silent.

The nobles suddenly realized.

They weren't fools; no one who could reach their current position in the high society of Eagle Country was a fool.

They could figure out what Ye Chen had said with just a little thought.

How could Hilder have asked the High Priest to cause trouble for Ye Chen just to drive him away?

Who was the High Priest?

He was someone who held mysterious power, someone even the Empress had to show some respect.

With him personally taking action, how could the goal be as simple as "expulsion"?

Hilder's face turned the color of a pig's liver.

But before he could speak, the Empress's expression had already turned completely cold.

"Hilder."

"Is what Mr. Ye said true?"

Hilder's Adam's apple bobbed, and beads of cold sweat seeped from his forehead.

"Your Majesty..."

"I... I was just momentarily confused."

"Momentarily confused?" The Empress narrowed her eyes. "You asked the High Priest to kill someone, and you're telling me you were just momentarily confused?"

Hilder's face turned pale instantly.

Felix knelt on the ground, his whole body trembling.

The Empress looked at Hilder's pale face, her voice full of disappointment.

"Hilder Kent."

"You have disappointed me too much."

"The punishment I gave you was already lenient, out of respect for the ancestors of the Kent Family."

"But what about you?"

"You don't reflect on your mistakes, but instead question Mr. Ye for being ruthless?"

The Empress stood up from her chair.

"Do you know what the crime of hiring a killer is according to the laws of Eagle Country?"

For a noble to hire a killer wasn't actually a big deal.

But if it involved someone different, and it was exposed... that was a different story.

Hilder's legs went soft, and he almost collapsed to his knees.

The Empress withdrew her gaze, turned around, and looked at Ye Chen: "Mr. Ye, I will give you an explanation for this matter."

Ye Chen shrugged and said indifferently.

"Whether you give an explanation or not is not important."

"What is important is..."

"Someone is here."

The crowd was slightly stunned, not having reacted yet...

Suddenly!

"Bang!!!"

With a loud noise, the doors of the banquet hall exploded open.

Wood splinters sprayed everywhere, and fragments flew through the air.

The two guards standing at the door were blown away by the shockwave, hit the ground, and passed out on the spot.

The nobles in the hall stood up in unison, their expressions changing drastically.

The Empress's expression darkened as she looked toward the entrance.

In the dust and smoke, a figure slowly walked in.

Red robes. A scepter. High Priest Mark.

And behind him followed eight people wearing black robes.

The black robes wrapped them from head to toe, even covering their faces, revealing only two red eyes.

Mark leaned on his scepter, walking into the hall step by step, his gaze landing on the Empress.

"Your Majesty."

"I have returned."

"High Priest, what do you want to do?" The Empress's expression tightened slightly, and she asked in a deep voice.

Mark laughed. The smile was sinister and terrifying.

"What do I want to do?"

"Naturally, I want to kill Ye Chen, control all of you, and then... take control of the entire Eagle Country."

The hall was in an uproar.

"Presumptuous!"

"High Priest, have you gone mad?!"

"This is treason! This is rebellion!"

The nobles scolded him angrily, and some even drew the ceremonial swords they carried.

Mark was unmoved, that strange smile still hanging on the corner of his mouth.

"Originally, I only wanted to manipulate things step by step, slowly holding all of Eagle Country in my palm."

"But what was the result? I was ruined by that beast!"

"My reputation is ruined, my followers are gone, and my decades of planning have gone down the drain overnight!"

"Since that is the case, let's bring everything forward!"

"Today, none of you will leave this hall unscathed!"

As his voice fell, the eight Black-robed men behind him stepped forward simultaneously.

The black robes burst open, and fragments flew everywhere.

Everyone saw the true appearance beneath the black robes, and their expressions changed drastically.

They were actually! Actually! Actually! A bunch of... Mummies!!!

Shriveled skin clung to their bones, and their eye sockets were deeply sunken.

Their bodies were wrapped in blackened bandages, and charred skin was exposed between the gaps in the bandages, emitting a nauseating smell of decay.

The surrounding nobles showed terror on their faces.

Euphemia's face turned pale instantly, and she subconsciously leaned closer to Ye Chen.

"Good heavens... are these mummies?"

The Empress's expression also changed drastically: "High Priest, you... you are mad! You actually refined such things?!"

Mark laughed up at the sky.

"Mad? I was already mad!"

"From the moment that person from the Dragon Country made the video of me and my lover public, I was mad!"

He suddenly stopped smiling, his eyes full of resentment.

"These puppets are masterpieces that I have refined for ten whole years with my heart's blood!"

"They are impervious to swords and guns, and immune to water and fire."

"As long as they cut your skin, even if it's just the shallowest wound, you will become my slaves!"

"Forever obeying me! Forever unable to resist!"

"By then, I will first control you nobles, and then control the entire Royal Family!"

"Then I will slowly erode the power center of Eagle Country."

"It won't be long before the entire Eagle Country is in my pocket!"

"Even, the whole world!"

"Hahaha... Hahahaha..."

The laughter echoed in the hall, piercingly harsh.

The nobles' faces were as pale as paper.

They never expected that Mark would be so crazy.

The Empress gritted her teeth and shouted sternly: "Guards!"

However, no one responded to her.

Because the guards at the door had all passed out, and the guards in the hall had already been scared weak in the knees the moment they saw those mummies.

Mark looked at the Empress's forced composure, his smile becoming even more ferocious: "Your Majesty, don't struggle. Today, no one can save you."

He raised his scepter and pointed it at Ye Chen.

"However, rest assured, I won't kill you."

"I will let you watch with your own eyes how I tear this person from the Dragon Country... to pieces, bit by bit."

The eight mummies raised their heads simultaneously, the red light points in their eye sockets locking onto Ye Chen.

Ye Chen shrugged.

"Mummies? Heart's blood? Refined for ten years?"

"I thought you were holding back some ultimate move."

"So this is it?"

A little disappointed.

Originally, Euphemia said the High Priest had a secret.

He was looking forward to what kind of secret it was, but now that he saw it, he couldn't be more disappointed.

Mark's smile froze on his face, and a flash of anger crossed his eyes.

"Ignorant child! You have no idea what these puppets mean!"

He slammed his scepter down, and a ripple of dark red energy exploded across the ground.

"They were refined using ancient Egyptian secret arts; each one has been soaked in the blood of hundreds of people and endured forty-nine days of purgatory fire!"

"Attacks from ordinary people are ineffective against them; they are impervious to swords and guns, and immune to water and fire!"

"You think you can fight? In front of my puppets, you are not even as good as an ant!"

Ye Chen listened to his endless introduction and yawned.

"Are you done?"

Mark's expression darkened completely: "You are courting death!"

He waved his right hand and pointed his index finger sharply at Ye Chen.

"Kill him!"

The eight mummies moved simultaneously.

Their speed was incredibly fast; their shriveled bodies left afterimages in the air like ghosts, and their withered claws brought a whistling sound as they clawed at Ye Chen from all directions.

The nobles let out terrified screams.

Some crawled under tables, some ran for the back door, and some collapsed directly to the ground.

The whole scene was suddenly in chaos.

"Bang!!!"

The first muffled sound exploded without warning.

Everyone trembled and turned to look.

But they saw Ye Chen's right hand grab the neck of the mummy rushing at the front.

Then, he twisted his wrist.

"Snap —"

The sound of bones cracking rang out.

The mummy's head was twisted ninety degrees by force.

Immediately after, with a casual flick, the corpse flew out, and after landing, it didn't move again.

The whole process took less than two seconds.

But the other seven mummies had already pounced.

Ye Chen lifted his right foot and kicked the second mummy in the chest.

"Bang!!!"

The mummy's chest caved in violently, and it flew backward, smashing into two other mummies behind it.

The three bodies collided, rolled several times on the ground, and knocked over three tables.

Ye Chen didn't even look; he casually swung his left hand, slapping the fourth mummy on the head.

The mummy's head tilted sharply to one side, its cervical spine made a teeth-grinding cracking sound, and it flew sideways, hitting the wall, sliding to the ground, and remaining motionless.

The fifth one! The sixth one!

Soon, the last two mummies, after Ye Chen grabbed their heads and smashed them together, fell limply to the ground.

And after doing all this, Ye Chen just stretched.

"Impervious to swords and guns? Immune to water and fire?"

"That's because you haven't met me."
