181: Chapter 181 Trouble
"Ah—! My leg! My leg!"
The burly man convulsed all over, breaking into a cold sweat from the pain. His face turned as pale as paper in an instant, and his previously arrogant attitude vanished completely, leaving only extreme pain and fear.
The several Cultivators beside him were even more terrified by this sudden turn of events, their Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering. They retreated half a step in horror, their eyes filled with panic, not even daring to breathe.
The burly man was in so much pain he almost fainted. He looked down at his already broken and deformed thigh, with blood gushing out.
The black dog still bit down firmly, refusing to let go, while a strange power within it continuously eroded his Qi.
This caused even his strength to struggle to rapidly drain away, leaving him to scream in vain, "Aaaaah! Help! Save me! Kill this monster!"
He was just about to call his subordinates to help when he suddenly froze. An extreme, suffocating pressure, like a ten-thousand-foot mountain, instantly and firmly enveloped him.
The burly man's scalp tingled, his limbs went stiff, and even his teeth began to chatter. His screams were stuck in his throat.
The surrounding Cultivators were pressed by this pressure until their legs went weak, almost kneeling on the ground. They retreated several more steps, the panic in their eyes reaching its peak, not even having the courage to look up.
Only then did they see clearly that this seemingly ordinary black dog was not only hideous and terrifying, but more shockingly, the Demonic Qi emanating from this Yao Beast was actually at the Rank One Late Stage!
What did Rank One Late Stage mean?
No Cultivator present was unaware—it was almost comparable to a human Cultivator's Foundation Establishment Stage!
The Qi Refining stage and the Foundation Establishment Stage are as different as heaven and earth, like clouds and mud. These few were only Cultivators at Qi Refining Level 5 and Qi Refining Level 6.
Before a Rank One Late Stage Yao Beast, they were nothing more than ants, completely unable to withstand a single blow!
"This... what kind of monster is this!? How can the Ye family have a Yao Beast of this level!"
Just then, from within the messy Ye Family Spirit Medicine Shop, a roar of celestial rage rang out like a clap of thunder.
"How bold of you!"
The troublemaking Cultivators trembled as an old man with black-and-gray hair and beard strode out of the shop.
His figure was as upright as a pine tree, his back straight as if he were an unsheathed ancient sword hiding a frightening edge. Even wearing only a plain green robe, his majestic aura was not diminished in the least.
The old man's face was resolute, and the few shallow wrinkles on his forehead did not make him look old; instead, they added a sense of weight and sharpness from having experienced the world.
He locked his gaze onto the troublemaking Cultivators. The coldness and ferocity in his eyes were even more piercing than the Demonic Qi of the Rank One Late Stage demon dog earlier, as if a single look could grind them into ashes.
The burly man, who had been screaming heart-wrenchingly, now forgot the pain out of fear. His mouth hung open, his body shaking like a sieve, not even having the courage to look at the old man again.
This old man was a Qi Refining Level 9 Cultivator, easily pressuring them so much they couldn't lift their heads.
"Grandfather!" Ye Tianhui cried out with joy in his eyes.
The killing intent in Ye Jing's eyes softened slightly. He handed a bottle of healing medicine to Ye Tianhui and then charged forward, "Hui'er, Grandfather will avenge you right now!"
"Wait... you can't touch us, we are from the Li Family!"
Those Cultivators immediately screamed upon seeing this.
Ye Jing sneered, "Destroying my shop and hurting my descendants—even if the Heavenly King himself were here, you would still have to die!"
His sword blade left its sheath, and the head of the burly Cultivator closest to him fell instantly.
"Stop!"
Just as Ye Jing was about to continue, a voice called out from the street to stop him. Several Law Enforcement Cultivators in gray robes rushed over.
Seeing them, the troublemakers regained their confidence. One of them even shouted, "You can't kill me! This is the Tiangong Market! You mustn't... Argh!"
Before the Cultivator could finish, Ye Jing swung his sword. A bloodstain instantly appeared on the Cultivator's neck, and his body twitched as he fell, losing his breath in an instant.
The Law Enforcement Cultivators saw that Ye Jing had clearly seen them but did not restrain himself, instead continuing to attack with his sword.
"Private fighting is prohibited within the Tiangong Market! Violators will be expelled from the Tiangong Market!" the Law Enforcement Cultivator warned.
Ye Jing sneered. These Law Enforcement Cultivators apparently knew that fighting wasn't allowed in the Tiangong Market, so why was there no sign of them when his shop was being smashed and his grandson was being hurt?
Now that he was dealing with these scumbags, they immediately jumped out.
Ye Jing's hand holding the sword hung in mid-air, blood dripping from the blade onto the bluestone floor, creating spots of crimson.
The cold ferocity in his eyes hadn't diminished at all, and his voice was as cold as ice, "Are the rules you speak of meant to protect scumbags who smash and loot, or law-abiding merchants?"
The leader of the Law Enforcement Cultivators was at Qi Refining Level 8. His heart tightened under Ye Jing's gaze, but he still raised his voice, "The rules of Tiangong Market state that those who engage in private combat will be dealt with according to the law, regardless of the reason! You have already killed two people. If you dare move again, don't blame us for being impolite!"
"Impolite?" Ye Jing stepped forward with a sneer.
"My grandson is lying here, and my shop is destroyed here, yet you turned a blind eye. Now that I have settled scores with two scumbags, you come to talk about rules?"
Ye Jing's voice suddenly rose, exploding over the noisy street. "If the rules of this Tiangong Market are so unfair, then there's no need to follow them!"
No matter who came to cause trouble, if Ye Jing really took a step back, would this Tiangong Market truly think he was a soft persimmon to be squeezed at will?
As he finished speaking, he flicked his wrist, his sword momentum rising again, heading straight for the remaining Li Family Cultivators.
Those few had already had their Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering. They scrambled to hide behind the Law Enforcement Cultivators, screaming, "Lord Enforcer, save me!"
The leading Cultivator wanted to step forward, but the terrifying black dog Yao Beast beside Ye Jing bared its teeth and released a powerful pressure. This power was no weaker than a Foundation Establishment Cultivator.
The surrounding Cultivators were also shocked; this old man was actually attacking right in front of the Law Enforcement Cultivators.
"Senior! This Junior was wrong! I shouldn't have smashed your shop, please show mercy!"
Seeing that Ye Jing was determined to kill them, these Cultivators immediately begged for mercy while trying to fight back desperately with their Spiritual Artifacts. But Ye Jing was not afraid at all, controlling Hei Feng and Xiao Yu.
The two Yao Beasts roared and charged, blocking their retreat. With a swing of the blade, their heads fell instantly.
The Law Enforcement Cultivators didn't dare to step forward either because they weren't stupid. Ye Jing dared to kill, and he had two powerful Yao Beasts with him. Rushing in would be a death sentence, so they just watched from the periphery, not daring to advance.
Ye Jing flicked his blade, splattering blood across the ground.
"Ye Jing! What are you doing?!" A sudden roar came, carrying a powerful pressure that made the already frightened Cultivators gasp and retreat to one side.
Ye Jing sneered and looked at the Market Master, Bai Qian, who finally couldn't help but appear. This time, he was not respectful, meeting the man's angry gaze with a cold look.
"Market Master Bai, you've finally decided to come out?"
