217: Chapter 217 A Perilous Situation

The faint thunderbolt finally struck Hei Feng, producing only a "sizzling" sound.

It couldn't even damage a single strand of his black fur.

Hei Feng charged forward. A defensive Formation immediately manifested on the jade boat, but after a round of Hei Feng's Bites, the barrier shattered instantly like fragile glass.

The tall, sturdy man was instantly terrified and begged for mercy: "Senior! I failed to recognize your greatness and offended you. Please, spare my life! Argh!"

The Black Dog lunged forward and bit the man's left hand, which held the mirror, tearing his arm off in an instant.

Heart-wrenching screams rang out. Seeing that the black-robed person had no intention of letting him go, the man gritted his teeth.

"You cannot kill me! I am Yuan Zhen, the second personal Disciple of the Ganglei Sect! If you kill me, my Revered Master will never let you off!"

"Hmph!" Ye Jing snorted coldly, ignoring the Cultivator's threat.

He watched coldly as Hei Feng bit the Cultivator's head off and devoured his Primordial Spirit as it drifted out, leaving nothing behind.

Seeing this, Ye Jing couldn't help but marvel. Hei Feng had become so powerful after this evolution, easily dealing with an Early Stage Foundation Establishment Cultivator.

With the owner of the jade boat dead, it instantly became ownerless. After looting the corpse, Ye Jing saw that the Cultivator mostly carried Thunder Attribute Cultivation Techniques; their bold and powerful nature suited that kid Ye Yi.

Thus, he took the jade boat and the Storage Pouch for himself.

The Cultivator's corpse then sank into the black sea.

He weighed the Heavenly Thunder Mirror in his hand, a slight smile playing on his lips: "Just entered the Minghai, and someone already delivered a treasure. Not bad."

Just then, black mist surged over the distant sea, and the faint sounds of beast roars and Magic Treasure collisions could be heard.

The Golden Erosion Insects vibrated their wings in unison, warning that a large group of Cultivators was ahead, mixed with thick bloodlust and Evil Qi.

Ye Jing's gaze sharpened.

It seemed the Minghai Realm was already filled with killing intent.

He steered the Qi Condensing Fish to stay low, using the black mist as cover, and sped toward the land indicated by the Golden Erosion Insects.

He knew clearly that the attack just now was only an appetizer.

Once inside, wouldn't encountering treasures lead to mutual conflict and killing to steal them?

Ahead lay an open shore where several beams of spiritual light shot into the sky, and various Magic Treasures crisscrossed in the air.

The ground was stained red; severed limbs, broken swords, and damaged Talismans drifted with the waves. The smell of blood in the air was almost tangible.

There were corpses both old and new, making Ye Jing's heart tremble with fear.

Looking at these remains, Ye Jing could tell that they had basically started killing each other as soon as they landed, with many falling here.

Since Ye Jing had arrived early, he hadn't seen any other Cultivators besides the one from the Ganglei Sect.

He quickly concealed himself, turning into a breeze to scout the surroundings.

This place was desolate, but when he looked up, he saw a damaged palace hanging above. Built of white jade, it looked magnificent and extremely grand.

"Is that the demon god's residence?" Ye Jing was somewhat surprised. He had heard that the people of the Xuanyou Sect were plotting to enter the Minghai Realm specifically to obtain some demon god inheritance.

Seeing this massive palace floating in the sky, it was hard for him not to think of it as the so-called demon god's lair.

Ye Jing noted the lack of movement around him but didn't dare use a flying Magical Artifact lightly. He let the Poisonous Variant Bee carry him forward, using several Stealth Talismans as he went.

As the Poisonous Variant Bee flew high, Ye Jing saw the desolation below quickly replaced by a wash of green. The area was filled with these strange Spirit Medicines, and there were even Yao Beasts he had never seen before running wild in the forest.

Many of those Yao Beasts were Second-Order Demonic Beasts, appearing terrifyingly powerful and not to be trifled with.

But so many strange medicinal herbs and Yao Beasts were enough to make those Cultivators greedy.

Ye Jing fixed his gaze on the palace. It was incredibly grand; if there were treasures, they were most likely inside.

He released his Divine Sense to investigate and was instantly startled. The palace was enveloped by a massive Formation that he couldn't budge in the slightest with his current abilities.

In fact, because he had extended his Divine Sense, the Formation seemed to come alive. It instantly glowed with a purple light, and series of ear-piercing wails suddenly rang out.

The sound was chilling and carried an intense pressure that Ye Jing could not withstand.

Several ghost-like shadows made of black smoke flew rapidly toward Ye Jing to attack. This caused Ye Jing to quickly retract his Divine Sense and have the Poisonous Variant Bee carry him away quickly.

Fortunately, the ghosts seemed only able to identify things through spiritual energy. Once Ye Jing retracted his Divine Sense, they turned back.

Seeing them leave, Ye Jing couldn't help but break into a cold sweat.

Although those ghost shadows didn't pursue him, the bone-chilling cold and the shrill wails felt as if they were stabbed into his Divine Soul, lingering for a long time.

He pressed his hand to his brow, feeling a faint, stinging pain in his Divine Sense.

The Formation outside that palace was by no means a common protective Sect array; it was more like a death-zone forbidden array cast from countless living souls and demon god resentment.

Never mind that he was only at the Early Stage of Foundation Establishment; even a Golden Core Cultivator who rashly probed it would likely have their Divine Soul crushed on the spot.

"That was close," Ye Jing whispered to himself, hurriedly making the Poisonous Variant Bee fly even lower to hide within the dense canopy of ancient trees.

The Golden Corrosion Insect Queen vibrated her wings gently on his shoulder, and the insect swarm dispersed through the forest, forming an invisible web of vigilance.

Should any Cultivator or Yao Beast approach, information would be sent back in an instant.

Only then did Ye Jing breathe a slight sigh of relief, turning his gaze back to the white jade palace suspended in the air.

The palace was towering and magnificent, surrounded by swirling mist. Though it was an ancient demon god's residence, it possessed a strange beauty—a blend of the sacred and the eerie.

The closer he got, the more he could feel the majestic pressure hidden within.

"The Xuanyou Sect plotted so hard to enter the Minghai Realm; their goal is definitely here. But with the palace's Formation being so terrifying, how can anyone enter?"

While Ye Jing was considering his strategy, the sound of fighting came from below.

It appeared that the Sect Disciples had all made it to shore. They had already noticed the corpses all around and had become nervous.

Especially upon seeing the various rare Spirit Medicines growing in the forest ahead, they rushed forward to harvest them. Unfortunately, the forest was full of Second-Order Demonic Beasts, making it difficult for them to advance even a step.

Some Disciples were even teleported directly into the forest upon arrival. Before they could understand their surroundings, they were instantly torn apart by a second-order pig demon, unable to even scream.

The Yao Beasts in the forest were incredibly sharp. With so many Cultivators appearing, it was hard not to be attacked.

Screams of agony rose one after another, and the peace of the forest was completely shattered.

Although most of those Sect Disciples were at the Foundation Establishment stage, they couldn't withstand the sheer number of Yao Beasts. Furthermore, the Second-Order Demonic Beasts were thick-skinned and more familiar with the forest terrain. They used the cover of ancient trees to launch surprise attacks, catching the Cultivators off guard.

From his hidden position in mid-air, Ye Jing saw no sign of his grandson, Ye Tianhao, among those Cultivators, and he breathed a small sigh of relief.

He steered the Poisonous Variant Bee to fly to one side, deciding to first scout the area around the palace to see what the situation was like.
