339: Chapter 339 The Fox Borrows the Tiger's Power

Outside Huayin Cave.

Several Yao Beasts moved upon catching the scent, all gathering outside the cave as if they wanted to enter.

Outside, Ye Jing didn't have time to overthink. He summoned Hei Feng and said coldly, "Restrain that Yao Beast!"

Receiving the order, Hei Feng strode forward and shot a light wave at the purple mist transformed from the Two-headed Nether Snake in the cave.

The Two-headed Nether Snake, which had been arrogant and intent on annihilating the Woman in Red Gauze in one fell swoop, suddenly felt a bone-deep panic and immediately stopped its movements.

Hei Feng was a mutated Yao Beast, and its Soul-Snatching Technique had improved significantly compared to before. Although it couldn't cause substantial damage to the Nether Snake, it could temporarily restrain it.

Ye Jing immediately emerged from the darkness, his eyes fixed on the black mist formed by the Two-headed Nether Snake. He then swung the dagger in his hand, aiming for the faintly glowing object within the black mist.

That might be the ghost nether pearl, or it might be the inner core of this Two-headed Nether Snake, but regardless of what it was, it would cause heavy damage.

The dagger blended into the darkness, silent and soundless.

Seeing an old man suddenly appear, the Woman in Red Gauze hurriedly cried out, "Who are you!"

"Shut up if you want to live!"

Ye Jing barked coldly.

This made the Woman in Red Gauze's face turn red instantly. As the Saintess of the Southern Border Demon Palace, she had been pampered since childhood, and this was the first time she had been scolded like this.

But she wasn't a fool; she would have died long ago if this Cultivator hadn't intervened, so she could only keep her mouth shut and say nothing.

Just then, a loud boom came from outside Huayin Cave. Several sections of the stone wall collapsed, and several hideous-looking Yao Beasts poured in through the gap.

They had sensed the presence of human Cultivators and weren't there to aid the Two-headed Nether Snake.

"This is bad! We've alerted those Yao Beasts!" the Woman in Red Gauze cried out, her face pale with fright.

Sensing the surging Aura of the Yao Beasts outside the cave, Ye Jing summoned the Golden Corrosion Insect Queen and the Poisonous Variant Bee Queen once more: "Intimidate them! Don't let them in!"

Of the two Bee Queens, the Golden Erosion was a Second-Order Middle Stage Demonic Beast, and the Poisonous Variant was a Second-Order Early Stage. Due to the unique swarm characteristics of demonic insects, the combined intimidation they brought was comparable to a Third-Order Yao Beast.

The "buzzing" sound of wings formed an invisible deterrent.

The few Yao Beasts scrambling to enter the cave entrance were intimidated by the Aura of the Bee Queens and the swarm. They instinctively retreated, only daring to let out low growls but not venturing forward.

The Woman in Red Gauze's scalp was tingling now. Three Second-Order Demonic Beasts? What exactly was this old man's background?

She had been refining Gu for so many years, yet she had to put in a lot of effort just to refine a First-Order demonic insect, let alone a Second-Order Demonic Beast, much less controlling a Bee Queen.

One must know that her Nascent Soul Master could only fully control one Second-Order Bee Queen, and their insect refining technique was already considered very strong. This old man could casually pull out so many Yao Beasts; what on earth was his origin?!

Ye Jing ignored the woman's amazement behind him. He controlled the dagger in the shadows to continuously slash at the purple mist. The sharp blade barely grazed the light source, causing faint tremors.

"Damn it! It's so agile!" A cold glint appeared in Ye Jing's eyes as he immediately shot several frigid throwing knives from his sleeve.

These throwing knives were forged from fragments of the High Grade Spiritual Artifact soul refining banner. They were by no means comparable to ordinary Magical Artifacts.

Previously, Wu Guiyun had cut and forged them along the lines of the iron blank, removing all cracks and Impurities. Each one was about an inch long, with the blade shimmering with golden light.

Although these throwing knives didn't possess the same power as the previous High Grade Spiritual Artifact, they inherited the original frigid foundation of the soul refining banner and were neutralized by pure Yang fire, becoming a Sharp Weapon that combined softness with inner strength.

They possessed the indestructible nature of spiritual iron, capable of easily tearing through Yao Beast scales, and carried a trace of residual soul-eroding power that could penetrate sinister mists to strike directly at vital points.

Moreover, they could be driven by Ye Jing's spiritual power, moving as fast as lightning and taking lives silently.

Several throwing knives flew out from his sleeve, no longer slashing randomly but following that point of faint light in the purple mist, shooting out in a surrounding formation.

The blades sliced through the air, leaving only a few faint golden afterimages. Even the sound of the wind was suppressed by Ye Jing's spiritual power, making them even more mysterious than the previous dagger.

The Two-headed Nether Snake was already unsettled by Hei Feng's Soul-Snatching Technique when it sensed a fatal threat approaching.

The purple mist suddenly churned violently, and two crimson snake pupils flashed within it. A thick snake tail swept out with a bone-chilling cold wind, trying to block the sudden throwing knives.

Ye Jing wouldn't let it have its way. His spiritual power surged as he gave a low shout: "Congeal!"

The throwing knives instantly accelerated, beginning to encircle and attack the Two-headed Nether Snake's tail. They severed the tail in an instant and then continued to scrape and stab up through the flesh.

"Hiss, hiss, hiss!!!!"

In its intense pain, the Two-headed Nether Snake completely lost its ability to maintain its ethereal state and immediately materialized. It began to roll and roar in the cave; its tail had been sliced by the throwing knives until the white bone was exposed, and blood splattered everywhere, smelling foul.

This gruesome scene made the Woman in Red Gauze's heart skip a beat. This Cultivator seemed to have pure spiritual power, but his methods were even more ruthless than those of the Southern Border demon Cultivators.

Ye Jing pressed his advantage, and the long-waiting dagger immediately flew out, stabbing directly into the Two-headed Nether Snake's vital seven-inch spot, then moving up through its Physical Body to strike the Yao core.

The Two-headed Nether Snake hissed continuously as pain swept through its entire body, as if it were being sliced into pieces. Amidst its violent screams, it finally collapsed and died.

The ghost nether pearl finally floated into Ye Jing's hand, along with the somewhat damaged Golden Core of the Two-headed Nether Snake.

These items, along with the Two-headed Nether Snake's corpse, were all put into Ye Jing's Storage Pouch.

After finishing all this, Ye Jing finally looked at the Woman in Red Gauze.

The old man's cold gaze made the woman's delicate body tremble. In her panic, she hurriedly cried out.

"I am the Saintess of the Southern Border Demon Palace, Shentu Youer! My Master is the Southern Border Demon Palace's Grand Elder, Venerable Fen Xin. He is a Nascent Soul Great Venerable. You... you can't kill me! Otherwise, they won't let you off!"

These words were spoken to borrow the tiger's might, for all of Shentu Youer's subordinates were now dead. Even if Ye Jing did something to her, no one would know.

Hearing that this woman had a significant background, Ye Jing, who wasn't a bloodthirsty person, thought it best to do her a favor first.

So he coughed and said, "Those Yao Beasts will be coming in soon. Let's leave this place first!"

Shentu Youer was stunned, clearly not expecting that Ye Jing really had no intention of making a move. The heart that had been in her throat settled slightly, but her expression remained tense, not daring to relax in the slightest.

The roars of the Yao Beasts outside the cave grew closer. Although the swarm's intimidation was strong, it couldn't last for long.

The buzzing of the Golden Corrosion Insect Queen and the Poisonous Variant Bee Queen's wings became more urgent. Clearly, those Yao Beasts were constantly testing the waters and could break through the defense and pour into the cave at any moment.

Ye Jing said no more and turned to head toward the cave entrance.

Hei Feng followed closely behind him, surrounded by black mist, still maintaining a posture of alertness.

Shentu Youer hurriedly followed, her skirt fluttering as she kept up. Her cultivation was only at the Late Foundation Establishment Stage, and her spiritual power had already been mostly depleted from the fight with the Two-headed Nether Snake. Now, she could only rely on Ye Jing's protection.

Ye Jing rushed out of the cave, and a white jade boat suddenly flew out from his hand. This was the suyu boat, a travel Spiritual Artifact given by the Qingyun Sect.

But this spirit boat looked far too simple in Shentu Youer's eyes. However, her Master had once taught her not to judge people by their appearance, especially Cultivators whose belongings seemed low-key and simple; the more they were like that, the more they hid their true strength.

Recalling how the old man had controlled so many Yao Beasts earlier, he was indeed very powerful.

Her gaze fell on Ye Jing's back, and the suspicion in her heart grew.

This old man seemed ordinary, with his spiritual power restrained and not showing any sharp edge, yet he could casually summon several Second-Order Demonic Beasts and strike ruthlessly and decisively, killing the Two-headed Nether Snake as easily as cutting grass. Such methods were definitely not something an ordinary Loose Cultivator could possess.

The Southern Border Demon Palace acted with impunity in the Southern Border region, and a Nascent Soul Great Venerable was a giant who ruled over a region. Yet, hearing her identity, this person had merely glossed over it, as if he didn't care about a Nascent Soul powerhouse at all.
