78: Chapter 78: Remnants of the Bandits

"We can't afford to provoke those imperial dogs for now, but a tiny Ye Family dares to breathe right under our noses?"

The Full-bearded Man slammed his hand onto the armrest. The wooden armrest of the grandmaster's chair immediately cracked, showing his astonishing brute strength.

They were all First-Stage Martial Artists, and with the supplement of the Red Lotus Cult's evil arts, they had long surpassed ordinary people.

"Second Master Tang! Listen up! Bring all your capable Servants here immediately! I'm going to exterminate the entire Ye Family!"

The Full-bearded Man shouted. He wanted to deal with the Ye Family first for revenge, and second because he heard they were a wealthy and influential Family, one of the best in the area. If he robbed them, he might get enough spoils to help him make a comeback.

The thin-faced bandit beside him couldn't help but say, "Great Chief, since that old man from the Ye Family survived the encirclement, he might have some tricks up his sleeve. Why don't we scout things out first?"

"Yes, yes, yes..." Second Master Tang immediately nodded like a chick pecking grain. "Sirs, the Ye Family is currently at the height of their power. Especially their Patriarch Ye, Old Man Ye, Ye Jing; he holds great prestige in Yanggu County!"

The Full-bearded Man flew into a rage and spat right in Second Master Tang's face. "You useless coward! We have dozens of brothers and Poisonous Insects in hand. What is there to fear from that old bird?!"

Second Master Tang was scared to the point of his Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering, not even daring to utter another word.

Just then, the door to the Tang Family's Discussion Hall was suddenly burst open. Two young men in silk robes stepped forward and shouted, "That's right! Second Uncle Tang! What are you afraid of? Kill the Ye Family to avenge Father!"

Seeing the two youths, the Full-bearded Man teased Second Master Tang, "Look at that, even children have more backbone than you!"

The two youths, after en own's death, developed a deep hatred for the Ye Family. Hearing the bandits were going to kill the Ye Family, they couldn't wait to jump out.

In their eyes, why should a countryside Family suppress their Tang Family? As descendants of the Tang Family, they naturally had to step up and avenge their Patriarch!

"Good lads! You've got guts!" The Full-bearded Man was even more pleased, slapping his thigh and laughing wildly. "Once I trample the Ye Family, there will be plenty of benefits for you!"

The two youths were floating with pride from the praise, puffing out their chests, completely unaware they were pushing the entire Tang Family into a pit of fire.

Seeing they were determined to attack the Ye Family, Second Master Tang suddenly thought that perhaps with the help of these bandits, they really could slaughter the Ye Family.

The sky turned dark.

Dozens of people gathered outside the Tang Family residence. The Full-bearded Man was dressed in black, with a pitch-black cloth bag hanging at his waist. It was bulging, clearly containing the Poisonous Insects he had mentioned.

Behind him followed a group of lean bandits, each with a fierce look, holding machetes and iron rods, clearly well-prepared.

Having heard that Ye Jing and the villagers had killed a Qi Refining Level 2 Immortal Master from the Red Lotus Cult, these bandits didn't enter the village loudly. Instead, they planned to sneak in and assassinate the Ye Family.

Second Master Tang led the way, while the two Tang Family youths followed in the bandit group, short swords in hand, their eyes filled with a fanatical desire for revenge.

The large group of bandits reached the Liu Village at the mountain pass. They all dismounted in unison and crept inside.

It was late at night, and such a large group of people did not disturb the sleeping villagers.

When the Full-bearded Man arrived at Ye Jing's gate, he saw a large house of blue bricks and tiles standing in the night. The courtyard walls were white and high, clearly belonging to a wealthy Family.

This was the Ye Family. Seeing how grand it was, he was sure he could reap a lot of profit!

On the roof, several sentry crows saw the group of bandits approaching and immediately flapped their wings, flying downward.

The Full-bearded Man ignored the crows.

With a cold sneer, he untied the pitch-black cloth bag from his waist, pinched out a few jet-black centipedes with poisonous stingers, and handed them to two agile bandits beside him. "Release the Poisonous Insects first and poison them to death!"

The two bandits took the insects and cautiously lay on the ground, crawling in through the dog hole.

After a moment, a few faint "squeaking" sounds came from the courtyard, like the movement of crawling insects, and then there was silence.

"It's done!"

A flash of ruthlessness crossed the Full-bearded Man's eyes. He waved his hand. "Everyone, follow me! Kill Patriarch Ye! Then ransack the entire Ye Family!"

Upon hearing this, the group immediately leaped onto the high walls, while some directly raised axes to break down the door.

But in the next second, a white light flashed. The bandits who had leaped onto the high walls only felt a gust of strong wind sweeping over them before they all fell back with screams.

Several large black dogs rushed out from nowhere towards the bandits trying to break the door, initiating a Bite. Caught off guard, they had large chunks of flesh torn away and let out painful screams.

"What's going on?!" The sudden change shocked the Full-bearded Man and his Second-in-command.

When the Tang Family members saw the White Eagle attacking the bandits, several Servants immediately cried out, "It's the White Eagle! That's the White Eagle that killed the Young Master!"

The Servants saw that the White Eagle's size seemed to have expanded again, like a giant, almost as tall as a grown man.

The tightly closed door also opened, and a white-haired old man appeared, holding a long sword with a mocking expression.

"I wondered who was running wild at my door in the middle of the night instead of sleeping. Turns out it's a bunch of bandits! And a few Tang Family members who don't know when to quit."

When the two Tang Family youths saw Ye Jing, their eyes turned red instantly. They charged forward with their short swords. "Ye Jing! You killed our Tang Family members; today, I want your blood in return!"

Ye Jing looked closely and saw that these two youths were the same Tang Family members who had teased him with arrows last year. A hint of killing intent rose in his eyes.

He didn't even move a step as the youths' short swords were about to pierce him.

Ye Yi caught up in an instant, his axe striking out with two "pu-pu" sounds.

The hands of the two youths holding the swords were instantly severed. Severed limbs flew as the two youths screamed in agony.

"You! You knew we were coming?" The Full-bearded Man looked at the old man in shock and anger.

"Hmph! It would be hard for such a large group of you to enter the village without me noticing!" Ye Jing's gaze grew colder. Behind him appeared Ye Xuan and two daughters-in-law, all holding weapons and looking at the bandits with killing intent.

Seeing this, the Full-bearded Man steeled his heart and waved his machete, shouting, "Brothers! What are you afraid of? It's just an old man! Kill them, and all the Ye Family's wealth will be ours! Charge!"

The bandits' ferocity had already been stirred up, and hearing this, they roared and charged forward.

Machetes and iron rods swung, smashing towards them.

Second Master Tang shrunk behind the crowd, waiting for the bandits to kill Ye Jing so he could come out and pick up the pieces.

A terrifying glint suddenly erupted in Ye Jing's eyes. He casually tossed the long sword in his hand to Ye Xuan.

Reaching down, he pulled out a heavy, dark axe from his waist.

He took a sudden step forward, and the bluestone slabs beneath his feet immediately cracked with fine lines.

Like a bolt of lightning, he charged into the group of bandits with a gust of fierce wind.

The first bandit to strike swung his machete, but Ye Jing flicked his wrist, and his axe swept upward.

With a crisp "clang," he knocked the opponent's machete away. The axe blade easily sliced through the bandit's neck. Blood gushed out, and the bandit fell straight down without even having time to scream.

This axe strike was both fast and ruthless, completely intimidating the charging bandits.

But how could the fierce bandits retreat? Several bandits with machetes surrounded him simultaneously, their blades whistling.

Unhurried, Ye Jing tapped his feet on the ground, and then the axe blade flew up and down.

With a mix of "puchi" and "kacha" sounds, the arms of the attacking bandits were severed one after another, and they fell to the ground, rolling and wailing.
