34: Chapter 34 The Villain Brings an Opportunity

Yun Song felt his eyelids as heavy as lead. In his hazy state, he saw four yellow shadows darting toward him, unable to distinguish what they were for a moment.

The instinct to survive drove him to try and dodge to the side, but his legs felt like they were weighed down by ten thousand catties of boulders; no matter how hard he tried, he could not lift his feet even half an inch.

Stars exploded before his eyes, and the world spun, as if the entire Mine Cave were shaking.

He gritted his teeth until they nearly shattered, relying on his last shred of clarity to throw his entire weight onto the polished mining hoe in his hands, slamming it fiercely into the ground!

"Clang!" Amidst flying sparks, he used the recoil force to stagger back half a step, ultimately managing not to collapse on the spot.

Just then, those four yellow shadows landed.

The floor of the Mine Cave suddenly erupted with dual-colored light—deep blue and ochre red. The airflow within a radius of two zhang was churned by an invisible, immense force, causing loose rocks on the cave walls to fall in a rustling cascade!

Meanwhile, in the plaza of The Mine, Steward Wu, who had been lying on a grand armchair with his eyes closed to rest, suddenly opened his eyes.

Although the spiritual energy fluctuations coming from deep within the Mine Cave were faint, they could not escape his perception as a Cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Stage.

He pinched his fingertips lightly, and his Divine Sense pierced into the depths of the Mine Cave like a searchlight; his expression darkened instantly.

"Boom!"

The floor and walls of the Mine Cave shook violently, and countless dual-colored earth spikes pierced through the rock layers like ferocious fangs.

They erupted in overlapping layers, the sharp tips rising like bamboo shoots after a spring rain, accompanied by a sharp whistling sound as they tore through the air, thrusting fiercely toward Yun Song!

"Swish! Swish, swish!" The earth spikes collided and rubbed against each other, emitting a teeth-grinding screech. The entire mine tunnel seemed to have become a gaping maw waiting to devour its prey.

Steward Wu had already stood up from his chair, leaning forward slightly as if he were about to move to stop all of this.

But the feedback from his Divine Sense made him pause abruptly. He furrowed his brows and sighed softly, "Alas! It is one step too late."

"Urgh!"

Inside the Mine Cave, a shrill cry of pain tore through the silence.

Yun Song felt two piercing pains shoot violently from his feet up into his brain.

He staggered and looked down, only to see that the eerie dual-colored earth spikes had pierced through the soles of his coarse cloth boots. Crimson blood was gushing out along the tips of the spikes, spreading into a small, dark red stain on the ground.

The strength in his legs was drained away in an instant. He could no longer hold himself up and fell heavily backward, his spine slamming against the cold rock wall with a muffled thud, sounding like a piece of torn leather struck by a heavy hammer.

The earth spikes had come violently and retreated just as hastily.

In just a few breaths, the light suddenly faded, and those ferocious spikes retreated back into the ground like a receding tide, leaving behind only the chaotic debris of rocks and spiderweb-like cracks spreading wildly across the cave ceiling and walls.

"Rustle, rustle, rustle..." The falling rocks from above grew denser, hitting the ground with a pattering sound.

"The cave is collapsing! Go and take his identity token," Black Bear roared, his voice filled with unconcealable panic.

Fox intended to rush over.

"Boom!"

A larger collapse suddenly occurred, and an overwhelming amount of gravel, accompanied by dust, poured down.

Black Bear and Fox exchanged a glance. Seeing Yun Song lying motionless in a pool of blood while huge rocks continued to fall,

Black Bear and Fox no longer cared about the identity token. The two of them rushed toward the entrance of the cave, with falling rocks exploding at their heels.

Moments later, the cave returned to deathly silence.

Beneath the pile of rocks, the wounds where Yun Song's legs had been pierced were still bleeding. The warm blood meandered down through the crevices of the rocks like a dark red stream, quietly flowing five zhang deep into the ground.

There, in a narrow crevice between rock layers, lay a palm-sized, five-colored stone that had been dormant for who knows how many years.

Intertwined with cyan, red, yellow, white, and black colors, its luster was restrained, as if it had been sleeping for eons.

The moment that warm blood touched the body of the stone,

the dormant patterns on the stone suddenly awakened!

A brilliant five-colored light erupted like a volcanic eruption, transforming into a dense, five-colored mist that drifted out of the crevice.

The mist seemed to have a consciousness of its own; it eagerly wove through the gaps between the rubble, moving against the direction of the blood flow, heading straight for Yun Song.

Upon reaching his body, the mist suddenly became gentle. Following some mysterious connection, it all converged toward his Dantian below his navel, seeping in quietly like a stream returning home, without any resistance.

At the same time, the five-colored stone deep underground lost all its luster instantly, and cracks spread across its surface like a spiderweb.

"Crack." With an almost imperceptible sound, it completely disintegrated, turning into countless specks of ordinary stone dust that mixed with the surrounding soil, leaving no further signs of anomaly.

Above the pile of rocks, the rockfall gradually ceased.

Yun Song felt, in a daze, a strand of indescribable warmth rising from his Dantian, slowly flowing through his limbs and bones, dispelling some of the excruciating pain.

But the medicinal power of the Soul-Bewildering Powder and the weakness from blood loss ultimately prevailed, and boundless darkness surged in once more, swallowing him completely.
