58: Chapter 58 A False Alarm

The disturbance outside the hall exploded like a thunderclap.

The exclamations of those inside the room intertwined with the sound of falling snow.

Ye Hua's father was tied to a wooden pillar with thick ropes.

His tall, sturdy frame, having just passed the age of forty, was now hunched like a withered branch.

Fire poison surged within his body, and beads of sweat as large as peas rolled down his paper-pale cheeks.

Soaked hair clung to his contorted face.

When he saw the figures of Ye Hua and his sister, his dim pupils suddenly lit up.

His cracked lips trembled as he gasped out a hoarse cry: "Hua'er, Rong'er, leave quickly! Don't worry about Dad!"

That gaze surged with a father's anxiety, and even more so, concealed the intense pain of being unable to protect his children.

Ye Hua's mother's weeping instantly pierced the stagnant air.

She struggled desperately, the hemp rope leaving blood-seeping red marks on her wrists: "My children! Be careful!"

The escorts all looked toward the doorway.

Flames of hope ignited in eyes that had not yet shed their fear—that carved wooden door had now become a gateway between life and death.

And Ye Hua and his sister were the last straws they clutched in their palms.

The big man confronting them had a throat that rolled violently, and the veins on his forehead throbbed.

He stared fixedly at the faintly glowing spirit talismans in their hands.

The hands of the two subordinates beside him, gripping their blades, were soaked with cold sweat, and the blades trembled incessantly under the moonlight.

"Big Brother, what should we do?"

Amidst the trembling inquiry, another subordinate held his long blade horizontally across his chest.

But the tip of the blade uncontrollably traced messy arcs.

Ye Hua stepped forward, his black robes brushing the accumulated snow from his shoulders, his gaze like a blade tempered in ice: "Release the people in the hall, and I will let you live."

A calculating glint flashed in the big man's eyes, instantly replaced by a fawning smile: "It's all a misunderstanding! I'll have them come out right now!"

Following his shout, the three lackeys inside the hall moved with small, hesitant steps as if facing a formidable enemy, each step feeling like they were treading on the tips of blades.

Ye Rong's fingernails dug deep into her palms, her knuckles turning pale, and the spirit talisman in her hand grew slightly hot.

Ye Hua moved imperceptibly closer to her, his boots dragging softly against the snow, the three of them forming a triangular formation, creating an unbreakable line of defense.

Beads of sweat on the big man's forehead slid down his scar, while the lackeys beside him stared greedily at the spirit talismans.

The blades reflected their crimson eyes—that was the covetousness for mysterious power, and even more, the madness of a trapped beast fighting for survival.

"Rong'er, go untie the ropes!" Before Ye Hua's voice had faded, the big man suddenly erupted!

He grinned, tearing at the corners of his mouth, and pulled a black bottle from his bosom, throwing it fiercely toward the ground.

At the critical moment, relying on the alertness honed in the Mine Cave,

Yun Song leaped sideways the moment the black shadow left the man's hand, the spirit talisman in his hand shooting out while carrying the sound of breaking through the air!

However, the expected explosion did not occur; the black bottle hit the fluffy snow and only bounced up to half a person's height!

The wild joy on the big man's face froze into a mask of terror.

And the spirit talisman Yun Song had thrown exploded with a roar—with the big man as the center.

With an unstoppable and indomitable Aura, over a dozen sharp earth spikes grew rapidly.

"Swish, swish, swish, swish..."

The snow-covered ground within a radius of a zhang suddenly boiled, and the blue-green intertwined earth spikes burst out of the ground like a frenzied dance of snakes!

Amidst the sharp sound of breaking air, over a dozen cold gleams pierced through the soles of the six men's boots.

Blood flowers bloomed at their knees, splashing onto the white snow.

Crimson bloodlines, like bewitching spider lilies, outlined a thrilling totem of slaughter under the moonlight.

The moment the sharp earth spikes pierced their soles, the six men's pupils constricted, as if their Souls were violently gripped by this sudden, intense pain.

Bone-chilling cold and heart-piercing sharp pain shot up their legs straight to their crowns.

A terrifying roar issued from the big man's throat, and his body twitched violently like a withered leaf in the wind.

The intense pain from his knees felt like thousands of ants gnawing at his bone marrow.

It was also like a red-hot branding iron pressed fiercely against flesh and blood, with every inch of his nerves screaming in unbearable pain.

One of them curled his body, clutching his knees tightly with both hands.

Rolling and wailing incessantly, his voice as shrill as a dying beast.

Another trembled all over, cold sweat soaking his clothes, his teeth chattering loudly.

Yet he still could not stop the whimpers overflowing from his throat.

The smell of blood spread in his mouth, mixing with blood and pouring down his throat.

Every swallow felt like swallowing red-hot iron sand, burning his internal organs.
