57: Chapter 57 The Talisman's Counterattack

Ye Rong's heart gave a sudden jolt, and a stinging soreness instantly flooded her eyes.

She subconsciously bit her lower lip, her lips nearly drawing blood.

Just as she was about to open her mouth to dissuade him, she caught the icy, resolute gaze in Ye Hua's eyes.

The words that reached her throat fell like stones into a deep pool, sinking heavily away.

She knew her brother's temperament too well; time was tight, and more words would be useless.

Yun Song's expression was as grave as frost as he slowly stepped forward.

His palm trembled slightly as it brushed against Ye Hua's shoulder: "Brother Ye, this plan is a desperate gamble. Your old wounds haven't healed, and even your ability to exert force is restricted. Those elites guarding the main gate..."

His Adam's apple bobbed as he lowered his voice, "If you were still at your Peak, I might dare to take the gamble."

Before he could finish, Yun Song suddenly reached into his robes and carefully pulled out ten glowing spiritual talismans.

He stuffed two into Ye Rong's palm and handed the rest toward Ye Hua: "I obtained these spiritual talismans in a rush. I only know that if you throw them out in a critical moment, they will surely have miraculous effects."

In the darkness, Ye Hua's fingertips touched the intricate patterns on the spiritual talismans, and a strange warmth crept up his spine along his skin.

The three of them hugged the wall and crept toward the main entrance of the hall.

Yun Song slipped into the shadows on the left, while Ye Rong curled up on the right; both of them held their breath as lightly as possible.

Peering through the door crack, the captives inside the hall were bound tightly like parcels with thick ropes, shivering on the bone-chilling stone floor.

A deathly silence flooded every inch of the space like a tide.

"Boom!"

Ye Hua tapped his toes against the ground, and the door panel shattered in response.

Amidst the flying wood splinters, he shouted aloud: "The thing you want is in my hands!"

Before the words had even finished, his figure had already vanished into the night, leaving only a scene of chaos behind.

The leader of the men in the hall had his pupils shrink, and a suppressed exclamation escaped his throat.

He stared fixedly in the direction where Ye Hua had disappeared, disbelief churning in his eyes: "Did Ba Dao fail? That's impossible..."

Immediately, he steadied his mind and pointed to three of his subordinates: "You lot, guard this place! The rest of you, follow me!"

The six thugs chased out of the door, only to find the night as dark as ink, with not a single shadow to be seen.

Just as the big man was about to shout curses, he caught a glimpse of a faint light streaking through the air from the left.

"Scatter!"

He roared, his entire body springing away like an arrow released from a bowstring.

Two of his subordinates rolled on the ground, barely dodging it.

But the other three were not so lucky.

"Pop!"

The Void Realm suddenly twisted like a boiling pot of oil, and thousands of vines entwined with blue and red light burst out from the ground.

The barbs glinted with a cold light, twisting frantically like living creatures, instantly entangling the three men.

Screams tore through the night sky; the man whose neck was constricted by the vines struggled for only a moment before his eyes bulged, his tongue lolled out, and his legs kicked wildly, splashing scarlet blood onto the snow.

The other two could not escape either. The vines engulfed them like a tide, and the dull thuds of barbs piercing flesh mingled with shrill wails, echoing in the night.

In the blink of an eye, the vines completed their strangulation and began to slowly dissipate.

The blue and red light dimmed like a candle in the wind, the sharp barbs turned into green smoke, and the thick vine bodies gradually became transparent.

When the last wisp of mist merged into the night, only three twisted corpses and a patch of snow soaked in blood remained.

The three who had luckily escaped were deathly pale, their teeth chattering.

A broken whimper escaped the big man's throat: "Spiritual... Spiritual Talismans..."

He turned abruptly and bolted toward the hall, "Go back, quickly!"

However, they had barely taken two steps when Yun Song and Ye Rong appeared like ghosts.

Yun Song held a spiritual talisman, pointing it directly at the big man's face, while Ye Rong stood guard vigilantly toward the hall.

At the same time, Ye Hua stepped out from the deep darkness, his footsteps steady, the spiritual talisman in his hand glowing with a cold light, trapping the three men firmly in the middle.

The night was heavy, and the air was thick with the scent of blood; a fierce battle was on the verge of breaking out.
