104: Crushing attitude

It was night in Raccoon City, and a cold, pungent wind swept through the city. The battle on the top floor where the Umbrella team was located had subsided.

However, no one dared to act rashly at this moment. Even though the Abnormal Zombie that had almost broken through their defenses earlier was killed, the Umbrella team members showed no joy. Instead, they watched the man leisurely strolling before them as if facing a formidable enemy.

Roar!

Behind the man, the Yan Beast, its entire body already soaked in blood, was prostrating itself on the ground, letting out a majestic roar.

Further back in the hallway, a Blood Hunter directly guarded the end of the corridor. Any Zombie or Abnormal Zombie attempting to charge up was forcefully crushed by it, ultimately becoming its food.

"Who are you?"

The Vice Captain looked at Li An, who had appeared on the rooftop, his face showing intense shock. He found it hard to imagine what kind of existence a human who could command a terrifying monster like the Yan Beast would be.

"Me?"

"Heh, bring Ashford out."

"I have something to discuss with him."

Facing the Vice Captain's question, Li An merely smiled faintly, showing no intention of conversing with him. His purpose in coming here was to find Ashford and ascertain the whereabouts of the progenitor virus from him.

"What do you want to do?"

"Why do you want to find the doctor?"

Hearing that Li An was looking for Ashford, the Vice Captain's heart tightened. Their mission was to bring Ashford back. As an important asset of the Umbrella Corporation, Ashford's value was immeasurable.

"You ask too many questions."

"Never mind, I'll go find him myself."

Seeing the Vice Captain's suddenly tense expression, Li An was too lazy to waste words with him. He shook his head directly, and the moment his voice fell, he suddenly vanished from his original spot.

What!

Watching Li An suddenly disappear before him, the Vice Captain was stunned for a moment, but he quickly reacted and roared at the team members beside him.

"Quick, go find the doctor!"

"That man must have gone to find him."

The Vice Captain's guess was not wrong, because Ashford had been called to the battlefield earlier, he was not too far from the front line. By the time the Vice Captain reacted, Li An had already appeared before Ashford.

"Who are you?"

"What do you want to do?"

Although Ashford's position was still some distance from the front line, he still saw Li An's appearance, especially Li An's ability to command the Yan Beast, which he witnessed firsthand.

As Li An suddenly appeared before him, Ashford first retreated several steps backward, then let out a terrified cry.

However, the moment he saw Ashford, Li An completely ignored Ashford's shouts. He simply extended his hand, grabbed Ashford, and immediately asked,

"Where is the progenitor virus?"

At this moment, a monstrous killing intent surged out with Li An's words. This terrifying aura instantly filled Ashford's entire mind, causing him to freeze in place.

"You..."

At this moment, Ashford was completely stunned by the killing intent emanating from Li An, unable to even complete his words.

However, just as Ashford was in a daze, several Umbrella team members, having received the Vice Captain's orders, also arrived at that moment, witnessing Li An lifting Ashford.

"Put the doctor down!!!"

In an instant, several team members immediately raised their firearms, aiming their muzzles at Li An.

However, Li An was completely unfazed by this. He merely glanced at them and said indifferently,

"You are not qualified enough."

The next second, the moment Li An's words fell.

An unexpected change occurred!

The Yan Beast, which had been prostrating on the ground, suddenly erupted, charging directly towards the Vice Captain and the others who were standing by in formation.

Roar!

The Yan Beast's movement was too sudden. Even though the Vice Captain and the others were prepared, they had no time to react and were directly breached by the Yan Beast.

In an instant, intense gunshots rang out, interspersed with the Yan Beast's roars, and screams resounded continuously.

At the same time!

The few team members who had their guns aimed at Li An were already stunned by the Yan Beast's terrifying slaughter, and they froze in place.

And at this moment, Li An seized the momentary distraction of the few people, directly disappearing from his original spot. When he reappeared, he was already in front of the few team members.

Bang bang bang!

Li An's right hand formed a fist, moving with extreme speed. Before the few team members could react, he struck each of their bodies, sending them flying backward.

The next second, the few people, who had only just reacted, let out screams in mid-air, but it was clearly too late. Their limbs had been shattered by Li An, and only their bodies crashed to the ground. A few seconds later, they died from pain and excessive blood loss.

Only then did Li An turn his gaze back to Ashford. Ashford had witnessed Li An shattering the Umbrella team members completely. Now, as Li An's gaze fell upon him, his heart tightened.

"You have one last chance, Doctor."

"I know what your weakness is. If you don't want your daughter, Angela, to die, you'd best answer my question."

At this moment, Li An's aura was fully unleashed. The terrifying presence almost seemed to solidify the space. Ashford at this moment was like a trembling toy, able only to shiver under Li An's oppressive aura.

"The... the... the progenitor virus is in there. That's where I have the last virus sample I brought with me."

Ashford was already intimidated by Li An's aura, and upon hearing Li An threaten his daughter, Angela, Ashford blurted out the answer without any hesitation.

And as his words fell, Ashford finally realized, how did Li An know about the progenitor virus's existence?

He knew that even within the Umbrella, only a few people knew about it, and he knew those few people. Who was this Asian in front of him?

Ashford was certain he had never seen Li An before.

Bang!

However, at this moment, a sensation of weightlessness came, and before Ashford could react, he was directly slammed to the ground by Li An.

By the time Ashford reacted, Li An had already disappeared.

Meanwhile, inside a tent in a room not far from here, the vanished Li An was rapidly rummaging through the items within the tent.

Finally, he found the mission item he needed inside a sealed device.

[Ding! You have found the progenitor virus. Do you wish to submit the mission item?]

"Submit."

Without hesitation, the moment he heard the Paradise's inquiry, Li An chose to submit.

The next second, Li An watched as the sealed device in front of him disappeared from his hand, and at the same time, another notification sound rang in his ear.

[Ding! Main quest completed 1/2.]
