13: Devour each other

"A Hunter? Just in time!"

Facing the Hunter's sudden appearance, Li An was surprised but not flustered. He had naturally heard the huge roar earlier, but because he still had to deal with the Infected, he hadn't paid much attention to it.

Originally, he was still wondering how to find Hunters to quickly improve his strength, but now it seemed he didn't need to search, as the Hunters would come to him.

Pfft!

In an instant, Li An manipulated his tentacles to wrap around his right arm. Sharp finger sheaths immediately encased his five fingers. Then, he clenched his fist and met the incoming Hunter.

However, Li An didn't seem to intend to clash head-on. Just as he was about to collide with the Hunter, he suddenly changed his move, transforming his fist into a claw, directly slashing across the Hunter's face, leaving a claw mark.

A cry of pain immediately arose, and a look of agony appeared on the Hunter's face. Yet, Li An still didn't stop. Taking advantage of being close to the Hunter, he wrapped his arms around its neck, and his sheathed hands immediately stabbed inward. With a 'pfft' sound, Li An's hands effortlessly plunged into the Hunter's neck, instantly splattering blood.

The next moment, a low whimper sounded, and the Hunter, which had arrived with fierce momentum, immediately swayed and fell to the ground.

Pfft!

Seeing that the Hunter was dead, Li An immediately pulled out his fingers with force, bringing with him a large amount of blood, and Absolute Devour activated!

Immediately, a crimson gas quickly enveloped the Hunter's corpse, eventually transforming into a drop of water that Li An opened his mouth and swallowed.

As the water drop entered his body, Li An immediately felt his physical strength increase at a visible rate. Although this increase was very short, only a few brief seconds, within these few short seconds, his various attributes each increased by several points.

"So exhilarating."

Sensing the growing power within him, Li An immediately let out a long roar. Then, as if he sensed something, he suddenly turned his head to look at a certain spot. In his line of sight, dozens of Hunters were rapidly trampling over the bodies of Infected as they charged towards him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The ground continuously let out dull roars. The sight of dozens of Hunters moving together was truly shocking. Ordinary Infected were swept away like broken sandbags by the Hunters. Some Infected even had their heads bitten off and swallowed by the rampaging Hunters. This was a complete power crush!

Seeing this scene,

Li An's expression also couldn't help but sink. Facing the surging horde of Hunters, he suddenly felt his pressure increase dramatically.

"Come on! All of you, come on."

However, facing such a dangerous situation, Li An suddenly seemed to have completely let go, revealing a sinister smile. Then, he first looked around, and then began to gather his strength!

Myriad Tentacles!

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

As the Hunter horde approached, and the foremost Hunter was only about half a meter away from Li An, Li An exploded. Countless sharp biological tentacles shot out wildly from his back, continuously striking outwards.

At this moment, terrifying rumbling sounds exploded, mixed with whimpers and roars, echoing and reverberating within the Mother Nest. The attacking Hunters were all pierced by the sharp tentacles, hanging in the air like skewers of meat.

Bang!

However, at this moment, before Li An could continue his actions, he, who had just released Myriad Tentacles, felt his head spin, almost causing him to fall. In this critical moment, Li An instinctively stepped forward, using the support of his thighs to finally steady his body.

"Is this, exhaustion?"

At this moment, feeling the changes in his body, Li An instinctively realized what had happened. The release of Myriad Tentacles had directly consumed nearly ninety percent of his stamina, leaving him barely able to stand.

"I was careless."

Li An gasped for breath. He hadn't expected that releasing Myriad Tentacles would require such a massive expenditure of stamina. The severe loss of stamina made even his breathing become rapid, and his breathing rhythm was completely disrupted.

But now was not the time to think about such things. Li An was clearly aware of this, so the next second he forced himself to gather strength, using his last remaining power to pull the impaled Infected corpses and Hunters closer.

The next second, the Absolute Devour ability activated!

Although many Infected and Hunters on the field had been killed by his Myriad Tentacles, many more Infected and Hunters were actually only injured. After all, Myriad Tentacles was an indiscriminate group attack, so its damage against enemies was naturally a bit weaker.

As for those Infected and Hunters that were killed by the tentacles, it was because they themselves had been simultaneously pierced by multiple tentacles, or their own health was already low, which led to their demise.

Furthermore, right now, he had to quickly recover his stamina. Didn't he see that some Infected and Hunters in the distance were already frantically breaking free from the tentacles' restraints? These monsters, which were only injured by the tentacles but not killed, became even more ferocious under the stimulation of pain, even beginning to resist the Mother Nest's control consciousness, starting to fight and devour each other!

Ignoring the Infected and Hunters that had already broken free from their restraints for the time being, because of the presence of the released tentacles, those monsters couldn't possibly rush to Li An's front immediately. Therefore, he forcibly calmed his mind, preparing to recover his stamina first.

Gulp~

At this moment, Li An continuously swallowed a large number of water drops formed by the devouring. As the water drops entered his body, an extremely strong energy instantly erupted within Li An. This energy was highly concentrated and very gentle. The moment it erupted, it rapidly surged throughout his entire body. As the energy spread, Li An immediately felt a warm, comforting sensation spread throughout his body.

At this moment, his stamina began to recover rapidly, and his strength also returned!

Moreover, with the large amount of energy water drops he had just devoured, Li An's strength after recovery had surged by a large margin!

Roar!

At this moment, Li An controlled his tentacles to lift several heavily injured but not dead Hunters in front of him. As he looked at the Hunters before him, with a slight thought, biological tentacles wrapped around his right arm, forming a bladed arm!

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

The next second, the bladed arm effortlessly sliced through the necks of the few Hunters in front of him, instantly silencing the Hunters who had been screaming. For a moment, the scene became eerily quiet.

Drip!

Dark, black blood dripped from the bladed arm. Li An reached out with his left hand, first devouring the headless corpses of the few Hunters, and then looked around.

He saw that during the time he was testing his current strength, many Infected and Hunters around him had already started tearing at each other, and individual Hunters had even devoured several of their own kind, causing slight changes in their appearance.
