199: Cruel battlefield

“Bastard, if you're so capable, let me go and fight again!”

Seeing Li An treat him with such disdain, the suppressed Saint also grew furious. His struggles intensified, showing signs of breaking free from Li An's hold.

Naturally, Li An couldn't allow the Saint to escape his suppression. He immediately increased the strength in his legs, completely pinning the Saint down.

“Alright, it’s time to end this.”

Facing the shouting Saint, the smile on Li An's face gradually faded.

This was a battlefield, not a teahouse or a place for casual chat.

He naturally didn't want to waste any more words with the Saint. Thus, Li An's body suddenly vibrated, and a powerful force instantly surged into his right leg, then through his leg, into the Saint's body.

Pfft!

The Saint immediately spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his face contorted into a hideous grimace, and his eyes wide with shock.

The immense force that Li An suddenly unleashed directly shattered the Saint's internal organs, killing him almost instantly.

Looking at the dead Saint, Li An merely shook his head, as if swatting a fly, with no interest in a second glance.

Li An continued forward, observing many Contractors still fighting along the way. Some Death Contractors were dying, but he didn't intervene; it had nothing to do with him.

At this point, the overall situation was decided. His task was to find the Contractors who had no opponents.

Of course!

If they voluntarily withdrew from this World War, he could spare them, provided they left before his butcher's knife fell.

If they changed their mind at the last moment as it descended, then he wouldn't take back what he had offered.

Bang!

Large amounts of blood splattered from the sky as Li An bathed in the falling crimson, transformed into the God of Death on the battlefield.

He didn't go to help Nie Guang deal with the other Saint. Given Nie Guang's strength, Li An didn't think he would lose in a one-on-one fight.

Therefore, Li An focused on eliminating the Eternal Life Contractors on the field. Once these individuals were dealt with, the World War would conclude.

“Help, help… help me.”

At this moment, Li An walked past a dying Death Contractor. What Li An didn't expect was that, even on the verge of Death, the Contractor still refused to give up hope of living and wanted him to save him.

But in response to such a plea, Li An merely glanced at him indifferently, then walked towards an Eternal Life Contractor who had no opponent.

Did Li An have the ability to save this Contractor?

The answer was yes, but he had no intention of doing so. He didn't have many potions, and they were all highly effective healing and recovery potions, which he kept for himself when he was injured.

Since he chose to participate in the World War, he should have been prepared for Death. Given his current fate, he either had to rely on his will to survive or give up the struggle… and die!

There was no pity in Li An's heart. While he respected and revered life, it didn't mean he was a benevolent person.

“Give up, or die.”

Li An had already stood before the Eternal Life Contractor, offering him two choices: die, or withdraw from the battlefield!

However, it was clear that Contractors closer to the central area of the battlefield would always strive for their own interests. They always wanted to take a gamble, to see if they could receive the rewards from Eternal Paradise.

Therefore, when Li An presented the choices, this Contractor instead directly attacked Li An.

Seeing this, Li An wasn't surprised. There were always some people with a Luck mentality (stroke of luck) mentality. If that was the case, then he could only painstakingly send them on their way.

Boom!

In an instant, Li An moved. He unleashed a punch towards the Contractor, and a terrifying gust of wind erupted, while the immense force of the punch caused a violent sonic boom.

Upon experiencing this, the Contractor, as expected, regretted his decision.

He wanted to beg for mercy, to abandon the mission, to withdraw from the battlefield, but it was clearly too late. There was no way Li An would retract the force of his punch.

Bang!

Although Li An's punch only used his physical strength, it was not something this Contractor could withstand. Li An's fist instantly pierced through his chest and emerged from his back.

Just one punch!

This Contractor died instantly.

Thud!

Li An then casually withdrew his fist. At this point, the Contractor hadn't completely died. He stared blankly at Li An, then at the large hole in his chest, and finally, with a thud, unwillingly collapsed to the ground.

Watching the Contractor die, Li An continued forward. At this moment, he had completely transformed into a walking God of Death, constantly harvesting one life after another.

Whenever an Eternal Life Contractor struggled to defeat an opponent, or even killed an opponent, Li An would appear and mercilessly twist their head off.

Gradually, the remaining Eternal Life Contractors on the field began to realize that a Contractor from Death Paradise had targeted them. That guy was a monster; it was said that this monster had even killed a Saint and was now hunting them down.

“I withdraw!”

“I withdraw!”

“I withdraw!”

Thus, more and more Contractors began to withdraw from the Ancient Battlefield, abandoning this World War.

Eventually, only Contractors from the Death Paradise side remained in the Eternal Life stronghold, and the only place still fighting was Nie Guang and the other Saint.

When Li An leisurely walked over, the Saint was fighting desperately. Facing Nie Guang, whose strength attribute had reached its limit, the Saint was fighting relatively easily, but this was entirely due to the injuries Nie Guang had sustained when the other Saint was also present earlier.

Finally, Li An stopped not far from the two. Mark happened to be there as well. Seeing Li An arrive, Mark immediately approached him, but to Li An's surprise, he did not see Lucas.

Li An didn't ask Mark about it. In such a cruel battlefield, simply being alive was a testament to one's strength. If one was defeated and died, it could only be blamed on being inferior.

“Why aren’t you helping him?”

As Mark approached, Li An frowned and asked.

Once this Saint was dealt with, this war would end, and they could return to their Paradise.

“Who knows what he’s thinking?”

“He refused my good intentions.”

Although Mark's strength was not comparable to Li An's and Nie Guang's, he was considered above average among the Death Contractors on the field. With such strength, if he were to help Nie Guang, he could have an interfering effect, but Nie Guang ultimately refused Mark.

Soon, several more minutes passed.

Nie Guang and the Saint's battle continued, but Li An was growing a little impatient. This was a battle that should have ended long ago; there was no need for it to continue.

“No need to waste any more time.”

Li An shook his head and walked towards the two. At this moment, the Contractors on the field were all gathered around. Li An's movement immediately attracted everyone's attention.
