10: Become a Knight Squire

“Phew... thankfully it’s still here!”

Ron breathed a sigh of relief, then carefully put away the essence fruit.

He then went to the stone table, crouched slightly, and leveled his gaze.

After observing carefully for a moment, he noticed four narrow crevices in the middle of the stone table, forming a rectangle.

“It really is a drawer!”

Because there was no handle, Ron could only take out his small paring knife and slowly insert it into the crevice.

He then wiggled it back and forth little by little. After more than ten minutes, he managed to pry it open by about a thumb’s width.

Ron then stood up and pulled the entire drawer open.

Inside the drawer, there was only a mask-like object and nothing else.

“Is this mask the alchemical item?”

Ron was a bit curious. Knowing that the mask was a harmless alchemical item, he put it directly on his face.

However, no special signs appeared.

After studying it for a while longer, Ron saw that the mask was like a machine without power, completely unable to be activated.

Therefore, he could only temporarily give up.

“Forget it, I’d better prepare to refine the nutrient potion first!”

After resting for a while, Ron used the items he had bought to start making containers.

First, he took out the three bottles of juice he had just bought.

He gulped down two of them in one go.

Then, he kept the two glass bottles.

After washing the bottles, he used a knife to poke two holes in the bottle caps.

Then he inserted straws into them, bent them slightly, and connected the two glass bottles.

After a simple adjustment, it became a simple version of a distiller.

Ron used the un-drunk bottle of juice as a stand.

He carved a straight, chopstick-like small wooden stick with a knife, found its center point, and tied it to the juice bottle with a thin string.

Then, at both ends of the wooden stick, he hung two teacups of the same size with thin strings, creating a simple balance scale.

“Roughly, perhaps, it’s accurate, right?”

Ron looked at the crude instruments, lost in thought.

Because the materials required for making nutrient potions had to be precise to the gram.

Therefore, he had to make a weighing instrument.

Given his current identity, it was inconvenient to buy or borrow a balance scale, so he could only make one himself.

The same went for the distillation flask. This item was probably only available at Doctor Litton’s in Hibo Town, and he couldn't borrow it either.

“Never mind, there’s no other good way anyway. Even if there are mistakes, I have to try it first!”

Ron shook his head, then pulled out two five-value copper coins from hisin my arms.

After wiping them clean, he placed them in one of the teacups.

A five-value copper coin weighed ten grams, so two would be twenty grams. This was the weight Ron had prepared.

Immediately after, Ron went outside, lit a bonfire, placed a small iron pot over it, and poured in half a pot of clean water.

Then, he filled one of the glass bottles of the simple distiller with water and placed it inside the iron pot.

Soon, once the water boiled, the steam from the glass bottle flowed through the straw into the other glass bottle.

Time passed, and in a blink of an eye, it was afternoon.

After much effort, Ron finally managed to produce one hundred grams of distilled water after weighing it with a water cup.

Then, after weighing honey, dry bone meal, and other items.

He also killed the gray-tailed rabbit he bought today and took thirty grams of fresh blood.

Finally, Ron took a deep breath.

He solemnly placed the essence fruit in the small iron pot, fusing it with all the auxiliary materials.

Flames rose, and Ron officially began to boil the nutrient paste.

The sun was setting, and dusk was approaching.

Another half an hour passed, and in the small iron pot, the originally chaotic substances.

Under Ron’s continuous stirring, they fused together.

Eventually, most of the water boiled off.

Forming a small ball of pale yellow viscous liquid, like a special kind of syrup.

“It’s done!”

Ron’s face lit up with joy, and he quickly used the bottles he had prepared in advance to collect all the nutrient paste.

As for the residual paste in the pot, Ron naturally wouldn’t waste it.

After estimating the weight, Ron directly added more than half a pot of water, heating and stirring it at the same time.

Finally, the residual paste dissolved, and after Ron poured it into two drink bottles, there was still about a small cup left in the pot.

“Gurgle gurgle!”

At this moment, Ron realized that he had been busy refining the nutrient paste all day and hadn’t had time to eat.

“Wait, since there’s this nutrient potion…”

Ron’s eyes flashed. Waiting for the nutrient potion to cool slightly, he couldn’t wait to take a sip.

For the first few seconds, Ron didn’t feel any changes.

But half a minute later, Ron only felt a slight warmth in his abdomen.

Immediately after, it became slightly hot, somewhat scorching.

A warm current flowed through his limbs and bones, spreading throughout his body.

Ron’s spirit was invigorated, and he felt that his originally somewhat tired body was now full of vitality!

Although he still felt hungry in his stomach, he was not as fatigued as before.

“Wild Wolf Breathing Technique!”

Ron didn’t care about anything else and quickly pulled out Nem’s personal notebook.

Following the diagrams and detailed explanations on it, he began his first attempt.

This Breathing Technique initially required punching, using the body to drive internal breathing.

At first, Ron’s boxing movements were very clumsy.

He looked like a stroke patient with hemiplegia when exercising, appearing quite comical.

However, he didn’t get anxious because of this.

Instead, he calmed his mind and continued to practice the Breathing Technique, and his movements gradually became skilled and smooth.

Perhaps because of his soul transmigration, Ron felt that his learning ability was stronger than that of ordinary people.

After just looking through the personal notebook a few times, he had memorized everything in his mind.

So, an hour later.

Ron had long since tossed the personal notebook aside and was operating the Breathing Technique on his own.

His boxing movements were broad and sweeping, forming a unified whole.

“Inhale… exhale… inhale… exhale…”

Accompanied by intense movements, Ron’s breathing was also like that of a wild beast, emitting obvious gasps.

Finally.

With the last move of his boxing, Ron stopped his actions.

His originally tense body slowly relaxed.

He was soaked in sweat from head to toe, as if he had just taken a bath.

“My body…”

Ron looked down at his slightly trembling hands.

Although he was very tired and sore from the exercise.

Ron could feel that his strength had significantly improved compared to before.

“Let’s eat something first, then continue after eating!”

Ron was very excited. After so many days in this world, he had always been in a state of anxiety and uncertainty.

But now, feeling the surge of power within his body, his heart could finally settle down temporarily.

After a simple and hasty meal, Ron continued to exercise.

Finally, night fell.

With the completion of the last movement of the Wild Wolf Breathing Technique.

Ron only felt a sudden burst of power from his heart, like a cloud of blood mist spreading out.

“Knight Squire, it’s done!”
