31: Intelligence Update: Alice's Crisis

Meanwhile, on the other side, Doctor Litton's private clinic also concluded its first day of business.

"Phew... you worked hard, Ron." Doctor Litton said to Ron, slumping into a chair after a busy day, too exhausted to even lift a finger.

Ron merely smiled at his words.

"Mr. Litton, it's my duty."

He then picked up a broom and began sweeping.

Seeing this, Doctor Litton nodded inwardly, thinking that Ron was indeed a steady and diligent child.

However, Doctor Litton was also curious as to why Ron's physique was so good.

Although both of them had been busy all day, he could at least sit in a chair.

But Ron had been running back and forth, constantly on his feet.

Yet now, not only was he not out of breath, but he even had the energy to clean?

"Is this the body of a young man? It seems I really am getting old..." Doctor Litton sighed to himself, completely unaware that Ron's abnormal stamina couldn't be explained by just being young.

Next, Doctor Litton was too tired to cook.

So he directly took out two silver coins and gave them to Ron, telling him to buy some food from a restaurant on his way back after picking up Lisa from school.

Time flew by, and it was now the middle of the night.

Ron, as usual, was practicing his Breathing Technique.

Suddenly, a prompt sounded in his ear.

"Ding! Today's intelligence is as follows—"

"1. Gevas once studied at the Wolf King Knights. Due to his outstanding performance, he was bestowed the title of Wild Wolf Knight and learned the Fighting Wolf Breathing Technique."

"2. Gevas was once asked by Barto to teach the lower-level technique of the Fighting Wolf Breathing Technique—the Wild Wolf Breathing Technique—to Barto's eldest son, Nem."

"3. Gevas and Mirar reached an agreement yesterday evening. Gevas will replace Barto in forcing more free people to become slaves."

"4. Every time Mirar acquires a batch of slaves, she will secretly send them to the Saar Family of Kura City within a specified time."

"5. The head of the Saar Family, Madoc Sal, secretly worships an evil sect called the Blood Moon Sect, and performs bloody sacrifices at the end of each year."

"6. The Blood Moon Sect's sacrificial rituals usually use living people as offerings, especially young boys and girls. The specific sacrificial process is—click to view."

"7. After Gevas agreed to cooperate, Mirar felt all pressure gone, so she sought out a handsome male stranger at the Enthusiastic Bar last night for a night of passion."

"8. In the Knight Academy library, there is a fantasy romance adventure novel written by Harrington. Because of its extremely poor writing and story, no one reads it, and it has been placed on the bottom shelf by the librarian."

"9. Members of the Kura City Thieves' Guild, after a three-day carpet search of the cathedral, did not find the magical item. They therefore suspect the intelligence is wrong and plan to withdraw."

"10. The Kura City United Knight Order, after a three-day sweep in the wilderness, did not find any traces of magical beasts. They therefore suspect the magical beasts were merely passing through and plan to disband the Knight Order."

"Has the intelligence been refreshed...?" Ron's expression was normal; he was already accustomed to reading the system's intelligence every night before going to sleep.

This time was no different. He paused the operation of his Breathing Technique and gathered his Mental Energy in his mind.

"Hmm? Fighting Wolf Breathing Technique?" Ron's eyebrows raised involuntarily after reading the first two pieces of intelligence.

"It seems this should be an Intermediate Breathing Technique?"

When he first transmigrated, Ron had already received intelligence regarding the levels of Breathing Techniques.

Generally speaking, Breathing Techniques are divided into three levels:

From lowest to highest, they are Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Among them, most Breathing Techniques have fixed levels and are not interchangeable.

However, a small number of Breathing Techniques have upper and lower tiers.

For example, Ron had previously heard of an Advanced technique called the "Lion Breathing Technique."

Its lower-level technique was the Intermediate technique called the "Leopard Breathing Technique."

And the "Leopard Breathing Technique" also had a lower-level technique, called the "Wildcat Breathing Technique."

Generally, a lower-level technique is a simplified version of an upper-level technique.

Although its power is weakened, the difficulty of cultivation is greatly reduced.

"If I could obtain this 'Fighting Wolf Breathing Technique,' my cultivation speed would also greatly increase..." Ron thought to himself, but unfortunately, it was just a thought.

After all, with his current strength, trying to seize a Breathing Technique from a Just Knight was completely out of the question!

So, Ron had no choice but to shift his gaze and look down.

"What? Live human sacrifices?" Ron's face changed drastically, revealing a look of shock and anger.

He had wondered before why Barto and Mirar were so frantically collecting slaves.

It turned out they were to be used as offerings for an evil ritual?

"Wait, the Saar Family... Alice is in his house!" Instantly, Ron's heart tightened, and an uncontrollable surge of killing intent permeated the air.

At the same time, Ron also felt a slight fear deep down, afraid that Alice might have already met with misfortune.

Although he hadn't truly met Alice when he transmigrated, he still harbored very deep feelings for her.

After all, if it weren't for the few silver coins Alice got from selling herself, even if he had activated the system, he would have starved to death in the wilderness without money to buy food.

So, Ron had sworn then that he would cherish this older sister just like his original self.

In the days since, he had constantly thought about redeeming Alice.

However, because his current strength was still too low, even if he saved enough money, he wouldn't dare to redeem her.

After all, if the other party didn't play by the rules and decided to seize his wealth and harm him, Ron, as a mere Intermediate Knight Attendant, would truly have no power to resist.

Therefore, he could only endure the pain and let Alice suffer for a while longer, waiting until he truly became a Knight and gained strength before redeeming her.

But now, seeing that Alice was at risk of becoming a sacrificial offering, Ron could no longer hold back. He decided that even if it meant taking a risk, he had to try and redeem Alice.

However, amidst his impulsiveness, he used his last shred of rationality to continue looking down.

"The time is at the end of the year? There are still more than three months?" The hot blood in Ron's head quickly receded, and he slowly regained his composure.

According to the fifth and sixth pieces of intelligence, the time for the Saar Family to hold the Blood Moon sacrifice was absolutely fixed. It could not be brought forward or delayed.

At the same time, all slaves used for sacrifice before then needed to be guaranteed to be healthy and free of disease.

"In other words, Alice is actually safe within these three months?" Ron exhaled a mouthful of stale air, and his previously tense heart slowly relaxed.

"However, I can't let my guard down. There are currently two paths to choose from..."
