145: Chapter 145 I Want to Be With You
Ye Yun took a deep breath, his voice even hoarser than before.
"If you keep moving, I can't guarantee I'll still be able to hold back."
Wen Yulan stiffened all over and finally stayed still.
Her whole body froze in his arms, and she even softened her breathing.
The cave was so quiet that only the sound of their two heartbeats remained.
After a long while, Wen Yulan spoke in a low voice, her tone filled with a sob.
"I, I can't get up..."
Ye Yun sighed, opened his eyes, and supported her waist with both hands.
He gently lifted her off his body and placed her on the hay to the side.
Wen Yulan trembled all over but did not struggle; she simply kept her head lowered, her cheeks so red they were almost bleeding.
Her hands tightly gripped the hem of the outer robe she was wearing, her knuckles turning white.
Ye Yun sat up, glanced at her, and took another clean outer robe from his Storage Pouch.
Handing it to her, his voice was calm. "Put this on. Your clothes are ruined."
Wen Yulan took the outer robe, her fingers trembling.
She stole a glance at the floor.
Her own clothes were torn into pieces, scattered across the floor, and even her undergarments had been ripped, making them impossible to wear again.
Her face turned even redder, and biting her lip, her voice was so soft it was almost inaudible.
"You, you turn around..."
Ye Yun obediently turned around, facing away from her.
Behind him came the rustling sound of her putting on clothes, her movements very slow.
Every now and then, it was mixed with suppressed groans; clearly, she was still in pain.
After a long time, he finally heard a soft "All done."
Ye Yun turned around.
Wen Yulan stood before him, wearing his oversized black outer robe.
The robe was far too big for her, hanging loosely on her body, with the sleeves extending past her hands.
The hem dragged on the ground, but it could not hide her flushed cheeks and those evasive eyes.
She lowered her head, twisting the cuffs with her fingers, radiating a bashfulness and embarrassment that made one's heart soften.
The silence in the cave lasted for a moment as the two of them gathered their thoughts.
Wrapped in the oversized black outer robe, Wen Yulan sat leaning against the cave wall.
Her fingers unconsciously twisted the cuffs, her gaze lowered, not daring to look at Ye Yun.
Ye Yun sat cross-legged not far away, his expression calm, as if everything that had just happened had never occurred.
Eventually, it was Wen Yulan who spoke first.
She looked up, stole a glance at him, then quickly lowered her eyelids, her voice as light as the wind.
"Who... who exactly are you? Which Sect are you a Disciple of?"
Ye Yun glanced at her and said indifferently.
"Luoxue Sect, Ye Yun."
Wen Yulan was slightly taken aback.
Luoxue Sect, one of the Four Great Sects, was, along with the Qingfeng Sword Sect, a pillar of the martial arts of the Tianyang Kingdom.
She nodded and said softly.
"My name is Wen Yulan, an Inner Sect Disciple of the Qingfeng Sword Sect. About last night... thank you."
Ye Yun waved his hand.
"No need. In that situation, anyone would have intervened."
Wen Yulan shook her head, biting her lip, a flicker of complexity crossing her eyes.
She knew in her heart that in that situation, others might not necessarily have intervened.
And even less would they have been willing to take her in and look after her after intervening.
She was silent for a moment, then asked again.
"How much longer do you intend to stay in these Fengyun Mountains?"
Ye Yun answered truthfully.
"I still need to find the Iron-backed Azure Bear, it's my mission target."
Upon hearing this, Wen Yulan's brows furrowed slightly, and a trace of worry flashed in her eyes.
"The Iron-backed Azure Bear? A Late Stage Level 3 Yao Beast, with thick skin and immense strength; even a Great Martial Master Eighth Stage Cultivator wouldn't dare to be careless. You are going alone..."
She stopped halfway, suddenly realizing that the concern in her tone was too obvious.
Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she quickly turned her face away, adding in a low voice.
"I mean... you should be careful."
Ye Yun watched her awkward demeanor, a faint smile curling at the corners of his mouth.
"I know. But with my current cultivation base, dealing with a Late Stage Level 3 Yao Beast shouldn't be a problem."
Wen Yulan nodded and didn't try to persuade him further.
She bit her lip, hesitated for a moment, and then spoke.
"About Han Ming... his father, Han Zhengyu, is an Inner Sect Elder of the Qingfeng Sword Sect, with a cultivation base in the Martial Spirit Realm. He uses ruthless methods and is vindictive."
"Han Ming is dead, so he will definitely investigate. Although I didn't kill Han Ming, it was your sword that dealt the blow, and I'm afraid he will trace it back to you. You... you must be careful."
Wen Yulan's voice was very soft, but her eyes were filled with unshakeable worry.
She looked at Ye Yun, her fingers gripping the hem of her robe, her knuckles turning slightly white.
Upon hearing this, a flicker of coldness flashed in Ye Yun's eyes, but it immediately turned into indifference.
He looked up at the night outside the cave, was silent for a moment, and said indifferently.
"He won't be able to trace it to me. Even if he does, I'm not afraid."
He paused, a faint smile curling at the corners of his mouth; his voice was calm, yet it carried a sense of certainty.
"So what if he is in the Martial Spirit Realm? In this world, he isn't the only one in the Martial Spirit Realm."
As his voice trailed off, an enchanting figure involuntarily appeared in Ye Yun's mind.
A fiery red dress clung to her exquisite, curvaceous figure, the neckline cut extremely low, revealing a patch of snow-white skin and a deep cleavage.
She reclined on a bamboo chair, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders, her phoenix eyes half-closed, her red lips slightly curled.
Her languor exuded a soul-stirring allure.
She looked at him, her voice soft and bewitching to the bone.
"Little Yun'er, if you encounter any trouble you can't solve, come find me."
The coldness in Ye Yun's eyes dissipated, replaced by a trace of tenderness he hadn't even noticed himself.
Having been out for these few days, he actually missed her a bit.
He wondered if she was still lying lazily on Lonely Peak all day, basking in the sun, and if anyone was there to keep her company.
Wen Yulan watched the smile that had suddenly appeared at the corners of his mouth, and for some reason, her heart felt inexplicably sour.
That smile was not for her, and that tenderness was not for her.
She asked softly, her voice carrying a hint of bitterness she hadn't even realized.
"What... what are you thinking about?"
Ye Yun snapped back to reality, shook his head, and his smile faded.
"Nothing."
Wen Yulan didn't press further; she simply lowered her head, the force with which her fingers twisted the cuffs increasing slightly.
After a moment of silence, she suddenly looked up at Ye Yun, a flicker of determination flashing in her eyes, her voice soft yet firm.
"Ye Yun, I... I want to go with you."
Ye Yun was slightly taken aback and looked at her with some surprise.
"Go with me? Your wounds haven't healed yet."
Wen Yulan's cheeks flushed slightly, but she shook her head stubbornly, her voice carrying a touch of persistence.
"My wounds aren't a problem. You saved my life, I can't just leave like this. The Iron-backed Azure Bear is not easy to deal with; although my cultivation base is not as high as yours."
"But I am at least a Great Martial Master Sixth Level, so I can help a little bit. Besides... I won't be able to stay in these Fengyun Mountains for much longer, so I want to help you as much as I can while I can."
After she finished speaking, she lowered her eyelids, not daring to look into Ye Yun's eyes.
She knew in her heart that these reasons were just excuses.
She just wanted to stay by his side for a while longer, even if it was just for a day, even if it was just for a few hours.
