175: Chapter 175 Immortal Serving the Young Master

"She's even more beautiful than the legends say. With this look and figure, even a Heavenly Immortal wouldn't be much better than this."

"Wait, why is she here? Isn't today the day she's supposed to marry the Young Master of the Wu Family?"

"Who's that man next to her? Why is he covered in blood?"

A middle-aged man wearing a cyan robe suddenly stood up, his chair legs scraping against the floor with a piercing screech.

He stared wide-eyed at Fang Hansu, his mouth opening and closing repeatedly. The expression on his face shifted from awe to shock, and then from shock to disbelief.

"Miss... Miss Fang! She's Fang Hansu!"

His voice even changed pitch.

"I recognize her! I saw her once at last year's lantern festival. It's her! There's absolutely no mistake!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire lobby completely erupted.

"What? It's really Miss Fang?"

"Shouldn't she be at the Wu Family performing the wedding ceremony? Why did she run here?"

"She's still wearing her wedding dress, but why is it covered in blood?"

"Who is that man she's with? Look at him, he's covered in blood!"

"Why would Miss Fang appear here with a man covered in blood? What on earth happened over at the Wu Family?"

Discussions broke out one after another, as everyone's gaze swept back and forth between Ye Yun and Fang Hansu.

There was shock, curiosity, and ill-intentioned speculation.

A few people's gazes were glued to Fang Hansu's exposed calves and collarbone, their Adam's apples bobbing as their eyes filled with greed.

Fang Hansu felt those gazes.

Those slimy, burning gazes, filled with all sorts of meanings, felt like countless needles pricking her body.

Her cheeks instantly burned, the blush spreading from her cheeks to the tips of her ears.

Even the exposed section of her collarbone was tinted with a faint pink.

She lowered her head, not daring to look at anyone, and her pace unconsciously quickened a few steps.

She was almost pressed against Ye Yun's back.

Her hand reached out quietly, pinching a corner of the clothes on Ye Yun's back, clutching it tightly.

Like a drowning person grabbing onto the only piece of driftwood.

Ye Yun's pace didn't falter, and he didn't even cast a glance to either side.

He simply walked through the lobby and up the stairs, step by step.

His pace was neither fast nor slow, and his back was held straight, as if the gazes and discussions behind him had nothing to do with him.

Fang Hansu followed him closely, her head lowered, clutching the corner of his clothes.

Like a startled little beast, she hid behind him, concealing her face in his shadow.

The two figures, one following the other, disappeared around the corner of the stairs.

The discussions in the lobby did not subside; instead, they grew even louder.

"Who exactly is that man? Why would Miss Fang follow him?"

"Didn't you see the blood on him? That's not something you get from slaughtering chickens or sheep."

"No way? Could he have... the Wu Family..."

"Shh! Don't talk nonsense! You dare say such things?"

The speaker quickly shut their mouth, but the suspicion and alarm in their eyes could not be hidden.

...

Upstairs, in front of the guest room door.

Ye Yun pushed the door open and walked in.

Fang Hansu followed him in and gently closed the door behind her.

The moment the door closed, all the clamor from the lobby was shut out.

The room was very quiet, and the sunlight outside spilled through the window paper, spreading a layer of warm light across the floor.

Ye Yun walked to the table, poured a cup of tea, and tilted his head back to take a sip.

The tea was cold, brewed in the morning; its fragrance was gone, leaving only an astringent taste.

He put down the teacup and turned around, just about to say something.

Fang Hansu had already knelt down.

Her knees hit the blue brick floor with a soft thud.

Ye Yun's hand holding the teacup paused slightly.

From this angle, he could clearly see Fang Hansu's lowered profile.

He saw her slightly trembling eyelashes and her tightly pursed lips.

He could also see the collar of her wedding dress slightly open due to her kneeling posture, revealing a patch of skin even whiter than the dress itself.

That splash of snowy white was somewhat dazzling in the dim room.

Ye Yun's gaze lingered there for a brief moment.

Only for a moment.

He looked away and placed the teacup back on the table.

"Young Master."

Fang Hansu's voice carried a hint of sobbing, yet she struggled to make herself clear.

"If not for the Young Master today, Hansu would have already fallen into the tiger's mouth, facing a fate worse than death."

She looked up at Ye Yun with tearful eyes.

"Young Master has saved me from desperate situations twice: once in the Fengyun Mountains, and once again today."

"Hansu has no way to repay you."

She prostrated herself, her forehead touching the cold ground, her voice trembling as she spoke word by word.

"From now on, Hansu is willing to work like an ox or a horse for the Young Master, to be your servant and maid, and to serve by the Young Master's side."

"I beg the Young Master, please do not drive Hansu away."

Ye Yun looked at her figure kneeling on the ground and was silent for a moment.

"Get up."

Fang Hansu did not move, her forehead still pressed against the ground, her shoulders shaking slightly.

Ye Yun stepped forward, reached out to grasp her arm, and pulled her up from the ground.

The moment his fingers touched her arm, he could feel the slight coolness of her skin.

And beneath that thin layer of clothing, her arm bones were so slender there was almost no fat at all.

"There is no need for this."

Ye Yun let go of her hand and took a step back.

"I saved you, not so that you could work like an ox or a horse for me."

Fang Hansu looked up at him with teary eyes, her lips moving as if she wanted to say something, but she didn't know what to say.

Her eyes were full of gratitude and dependence.

There was also a hint of something she hadn't even noticed herself, something that transcended gratitude.

Ye Yun's gaze lingered on her face for a moment before moving away.

She truly looked quite wretched right now.

Tear stains ran down her face one by one, making her originally exquisite makeup a mess.

A few stray hairs were stuck to her cheeks, clumped together by her tears.

Her wedding dress was covered in bloodstains and dust, and a section of the hem had been torn off, revealing her two bare calves.

One of the embroidered shoes on her feet had fallen off at some point, and her white sock stepped on the ground, stained with dust.

The whole person was like a fledgling bird fished out of a storm, soaking wet and shivering.

Yet she still struggled to keep her eyes open to look at him.

"Go take a bath first and change into clean clothes."

Ye Yun's voice softened slightly.

"In this state, how can you go out and see people?"

Fang Hansu was stunned for a moment, then she looked down at herself.

The blood-stained wedding dress, the exposed calves, one bare foot, and hair as messy as a bird's nest.

Her cheeks instantly turned bright red, and her hands frantically tugged at the hem of her dress, trying to cover her calves.

But since a large section of the hem had been torn off by Ye Yun, no matter how she tugged, she couldn't cover them.

She had no choice but to shrink her bare foot back, using the other foot to block it.

The whole situation was so embarrassing she wished she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

"I... I..."

She stammered two words, then suddenly seemed to remember something.

The blush on her face faded, replaced by a look of urgency and worry.

"Young Master!"

She looked up and grabbed Ye Yun's sleeve.

"Cuier! Cuier is still at the Wu Family!"
