190: Chapter 190 Tianyang Academy, Wu Heng!

Three people stood at the entrance of the alley.

The leader was the feminine man from the teahouse.

Behind him followed two others in similar tight-fitting attire, one fat and one thin, both with cultivations around the Great Martial Master Eighth Stage.

The feminine man walked slowly into the alley, each step exceptionally steady, hands clasped behind his back, his posture as relaxed as if he were strolling through his own backyard garden.

“Are you Ye Yun?”

Ye Yun looked at him without saying a word.

The feminine man didn't mind, continuing on his own.

“My name is Zhou Heng, from Tianyang Academy.”

He paused, the smile at the corner of his mouth deepening slightly.

“The old family head of the Wu Family in Qingzhou City had some friendship with my father back in the day. You slaughtered his entire family; that wasn't very honorable.”

“And?”

Ye Yun’s tone was very flat.

“So, I’ve come to demand an explanation on his behalf.”

Zhou Heng tilted his head, sizing Ye Yun up with a gaze filled with a mix of curiosity and contempt.

“I heard you slaughtered the Wu Family alone, and even Wu Tianxiong, that Half-step Martial Spirit, died at your hands. I originally thought it was an exaggeration, but now it seems—”

He paused.

“You're nothing special.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhou Heng moved.

His speed was extremely fast, his entire body turning into a gray afterimage as he instantly crossed several dozen feet.

His right hand formed a claw, carrying sharp Mystic Power as it went straight for Ye Yun’s throat.

Ye Yun sidestepped to avoid it. The burning snow sword had not yet left its scabbard; he used his palm as a blade and struck out.

The two exchanged a palm strike in the narrow alleyway.

Mystic Power exploded, and the courtyard walls on both sides were shaken with several cracks as brick fragments rustled down.

Zhou Heng retreated two steps.

Ye Yun retreated one step.

“Interesting.”

Zhou Heng shook his wrist, the contempt in his eyes receding slightly, replaced by a touch of serious killing intent.

“No wonder you could kill Wu Tianxiong. Your cultivation is indeed more than just Peak Great Martial Master.”

He stopped wasting words, and the Mystic Power around his body erupted with full force.

His hands formed a strange seal in front of him.

The light in the alley suddenly dimmed.

A bone-chilling, sinister aura spread out from his body.

A thin layer of white frost condensed on the surface of the bluestone bricks on the ground.

Ye Yun frowned slightly.

Something was wrong with this aura.

Zhou Heng thrust both palms out, a strange dark green light faintly glowing from his palms, carrying a foul, decaying stench.

Ye Yun drew his sword.

The fiery red sword light on the burning snow sword collided with that dark green palm wind.

“Sizzle—”

Like a red-hot iron thrown into ice water, the two forces eroded each other, making a piercing sound.

Ye Yun only felt a sinister cold force spreading up his arm along the blade of the sword.

Wherever that power passed, the Mystic Power in his Meridians actually experienced a brief stagnation.

He circulated the Tai Xuan Hehuan Scripture, and his Pure Yang Mystic Power forced back that sinister cold force.

But that brief stagnation was enough to reveal a flaw.

The two subordinates behind Zhou Heng moved simultaneously.

One fat and one thin, one left and one right, their coordination was extremely tacit.

The fat one used a Ghost-head Broadsword; the blade wind was sharp, slashing straight at Ye Yun’s left side.

The thin one used a pair of short daggers; his movement technique was eerie as he glided along the wall from the right, the cold light on the daggers flashing in the shadows.

Ye Yun forced Zhou Heng back with a sword strike and turned to parry.

The burning snow sword collided with the Ghost-head Broadsword, sparks flying. The fat one was shaken back, but the thin one's dagger had already stabbed toward his ribs.

Ye Yun turned sideways; the dagger grazed past his robes, cutting a slit without wounding the flesh.

However, the dagger was coated with poison.

The poison touched the robes and made a 'sizzling' sound, instantly corroding a hole in the fabric.

Ye Yun’s eyes turned cold, and the burning snow sword swept across, the fiery red sword light drawing a crescent-like arc.

The thin one couldn't dodge in time, and the sword light slashed across his throat.

Blood gushed out, and the thin man's eyes widened as he clutched his neck and collapsed.

Seeing this, the fat one let out a roar and slashed down with the Ghost-head Broadsword.

Instead of retreating, Ye Yun advanced. With a flicker of his body, he deployed the Flowing Cloud Steps, appearing beside the fat man as if teleporting.

The burning snow sword pierced out diagonally, entering through the fat man's left ribs and piercing his heart.

The fat man looked down at the sword tip in his chest, a mouthful of bloody foam gushing from his mouth as he crashed to the ground.

Two corpses lay in the alley, blood flowing along the cracks in the bluestone bricks.

Zhou Heng stood at the alley entrance, looking at the corpses of his two subordinates without any expression on his face.

Then he smiled.

“That's fine too.”

He took a palm-sized black gourd from his breast, uncorked it, and an even denser decaying stench permeated the air.

Wisps of dark green smoke emerged from the mouth of the gourd, condensing in the air.

They turned into slender green lines, entining toward Ye Yun.

Ye Yun swung his sword to cut several green lines, but after being severed, they quickly reconsolidated.

More and more, denser and denser, they surrounded him from all directions.

The Dao of Poison.

Someone from Tianyang Academy was actually practicing Poison Arts.

Ye Yun held his breath and circulated his Pure Yang Mystic Power to protect his body.

But those green lines didn't fear Mystic Power at all, directly penetrating his protective mystic light and burrowing into his skin.

A wave of numbness began to spread from his arm.

Ye Yun made a decisive move, slashing apart the nearest green lines with his sword.

His body soared into the air, stepping on the courtyard wall to flip over and fly toward the other end of the alley.

It wasn't that he couldn't win, but there was no point in wasting time here.

This man Zhou Heng was too strange; those Poison Arts were things he had never seen before, and staying here to fight head-on would only result in a loss.

Zhou Heng's cold laughter echoed behind him.

“Running? Do you think you can escape?”

Ye Yun didn't look back, his figure moving rapidly across the rooftops.

His toes tapped on the tiles, leaping several dozen feet with each push, his gray robes snapping in the wind.

Behind him, Zhou Heng followed unhurriedly, treading on a cloud of dark green mist.

His speed was actually not a bit slower than his own.

At the same time, Ye Yun could feel the numbness inside him spreading.

Although he had blocked most of the green lines, a few had still burrowed into the Meridians of his left arm.

The Pure Yang Mystic Power was frantically devouring those toxins, but it needed time.

He needed time.

The edge of the city wall was already in sight, and Ye Yun took a leap.

His whole body was like a large gray bird, soaring over the city wall and landing steadily on the wasteland outside the city.

Without stopping, he continued to speed northward.

Zhou Heng reached the city wall and paused for a moment.

“Running north... in the direction of Luoxue Sect.”

A cold smile curled on his lips as he took out a Sound Transmission Jade Talisman from his breast and injected a trace of Mystic Power.

“The target has fled north. Intercept him on the path to Luoxue Sect.”

A brief response came from the other end of the jade talisman.

“Understood.”

Zhou Heng put away the jade talisman and continued the pursuit, treading on the poison mist.

Two figures, one in front and one behind, sped across the wilderness beside the official road.

The numbness in Ye Yun’s left arm was decreasing; his Pure Yang Mystic Power had already forced most of the toxins out of his body.

Given another fifteen minutes, he could completely neutralize it.

But at that moment, three figures appeared on the official road ahead.
