186: Chapter 186 The White Worm Will Definitely Die
On the high platforms on both sides of the glacial fissure, dozens of pale wizards attacked simultaneously.
Off-white magic shockwaves blasted toward Xie Feng's direction from all directions, and the intricate traps on the ice walls were also being activated, with magical light patterns spreading from the depths of the ice layer, attempting to Seal the intruders along with the entire Spacetime Gate at the very bottom of the glacier.
The pool of grayish-green solution on Xie Feng's lower body bounced sharply off the ice surface, pushing his entire person to crash straight toward the wizard frontline in the front row of the high platform.
An off-white magic shockwave solidly smashed onto his left shoulder, blowing an irregular gap into the grayish-green solution, but the edges of the gap began to wriggle and close again within a very short time.
The newly born protoplasm poured out from the gaps of the web curse to fill that gap.
Another shockwave blasted against the edge of the hollow in his chest, the dark red plasma light film flickered violently a few times, and then stabilized again.
Xie Feng didn't even bother to dodge.
He couldn't remember why he needed to dodge, nor what these off-white light spheres were, only knowing that they hurt a bit when they hit his body, but after the pain subsided he could still continue charging forward.
This feeling was already good enough for him.
He forcibly squeezed through the middle of the two pale wizards in the front row of the frontline, his right hand's five fingers spreading open to grab the arm of one of the wizards holding a rune stone, and the grayish-green solution silently spread from his fingertips onto the wizard's wrist, beginning to dissolve the skin the moment it touched the solution.
The wizard let out a miserable, short scream, stepping back several steps and crashing into the ice wall, only to find when looking down that his right hand had completely disappeared from the wrist.
Xie Feng casually flicked that severed hand aside, three shattered eyeballs simultaneously turning toward another wizard who was still trying to chant a Spell, and spoke a few words in a creepy voice.
"It is your turn."
Below the high platform, Tu Ziguan picked up the cold crystal blind staff that Xie Feng had left behind when charging forward, tucked it into his waist, flung open the maxim gun mount, and bullets spewed out from the muzzle, sweeping across the group of wizards on both sides of the high platform who were still activating rune traps.
"The bullets I just made in the New Capital are about to run out again, Xie Feng, you have to reimburse me when we get back!"
Cartridge cases clattered onto the ice surface, producing rapid impact sounds, and every flicker of the muzzle's gunfire illuminated the excited yet ferocious expression on his face.
Kengasing stood two steps in front of Tu Ziguan, his body having already begun to mutate once again at this moment.
The suction cups at the ends of his tentacle-like arms were all fully open, waving frantically in the air.
Dozens of off-white magic shockwaves blasted from the high platform toward Tu Ziguan's firepower point, all of which were forcibly caught by Kengasing using his continuously proliferating body.
Icicles, binding Spells, withering curses—various types of wizardry struck his body, leaving dense wounds, but those wounds began to heal, thicken, and mutate again within an extremely short time. After each healing, his body became harder to pierce through than before.
This is the horror of Cthulhu-mythos creatures; they are almost impossible to be completely destroyed. Kengasing served as a shield to protect Tu Ziguan, allowing him to fully disrupt the wizards' spellcasting.
Lu Mingyuan stood at the deepest part, a precise bronze transmitter floating in front of him. The surface of the transmitter was engraved with creations unique to the Great Race of Yith, and every circuit flashed under the cold light of the glacier.
Magic shockwaves blasted simultaneously from three directions, and the bronze transmitter rapidly rotated a circle in mid-air, deflecting all three magic shockwaves, which crashed into the ice walls on both sides of the glacial fissure and exploded into countless fine ice shards.
A wizard of The Chilling Ones walked out slowly from the high platform, stood opposite Lu Mingyuan, and spoke in the Yithian language.
"The time barrier generator routinely prepared by the Great Race of Yith during their activities? I once browsed records about the Yithians in the library of the Old Capital; this object can deflect the vast majority of magical attacks of the current era."
"I know the mental projection technology of the Great Race of Yith, and I know that they never easily interfere with the survival of other races. Why have you come here to interfere with the actions of The Chilling Ones?"
Lu Mingyuan replied in the standard language.
"The Great Race of Yith is merely saving itself; the White Worm will surely die."
The scholar fell silent for quite a while, his eyes filled with confusion.
"You cannot do it. The Lord of Immortality has lingered in this glacier for too long, and the power of The Chilling Ones far exceeds your imagination. Even the technology of the Great Race of Yith cannot confront the White Worm itself in the deepest part of the glacier."
Lu Mingyuan looked back toward Aivage's direction.
"It will be done."
Aivage was over there casting Spells while swinging his sword, busy to the point of being flustered.
He didn't have Cthulhu-mythos pollution; getting hit once would really kill him.
Fortunately, his foundation as a wizard was solid enough, dodging left and right, coupled with a few non-human guys covering for him, so he was barely getting by.
"How do we handle this? Even if we make a Breakthrough past here, it's not the time of the new moon right now, how can we weaken the White Worm?"
Aivage parried a fireball with his sword and shouted back at Tu Ziguan.
"How would I know? I don't even know that so-called White Worm, ask the ones who know about these things!"
Aivage widened his eyes and did a donkey roll to dodge another bolt of lightning, looking at Kengasing.
"I don't know, I'm just here to help, go ask the one who opened the portal."
Aivage executed another awkward side roll, and then shouted at Xie Feng, who was massacring people above.
"Hey! How do we handle this!?"
Xie Feng turned his head blankly.
"I don't know, I have amnesia. Wasn't it the coordinates you mentioned? So I came over."
Aivage felt that his diastolic blood pressure was now higher than his height.
The Chilling Ones above turned pale with fright upon hearing this conversation.
"How could this be! How could you possibly know such secrets?! Absolutely cannot let them leave alive!"
The wizards above immediately began to increase the intensity of their bombardment.
Aivage's curses were exceptionally loud amidst the sounds of Spells.
"I just %&#¥@ (Hyperborean curse)."
With the output from the two firepower points of Xie Feng and Tu Ziguan, the wizards above were gradually failing to hold their ground.
After all, the boss could take a beating, but how do you fight a boss without a health bar?
Eventually, the high wizard above gave up on suppressing Xie Feng with Spells. As his suppression vanished, the Son of Abhoth on Xie Feng's body immediately began to flood over a large area, spreading toward the surroundings like a tide. Every wizard it touched began to shriek as they watched the things on their bodies dissolve.
The high wizard began to chant.
"Lord of Death and Immortality, Lord of Ice and Frost, Leader of The Chilling Ones, please send down the cold wind of Igikils, eternally Seal the madmen before you..."
As passages of incantations praising the White Worm were chanted, a cold wind began to blow out from the iceberg behind The Chilling Ones.
Wherever the cold wind blew past, even the air was frozen solid.
"What should we do now?!"
Aivage immediately realized this was the result of Rlim Shaikorth's divine communication Spell—its true body was living right behind them, and it had intervened directly.
"Don't worry, you will accomplish it, although I don't know the method."
Lu Mingyuan calmly finished saying these words, and glanced at the empty spot behind Aivage.
Closing both eyes, he passed out.
He logged off.
