25: Chapter 25 Peaceful daily life won't last forever, so cherish it.

In the subsequent matches, Xie Feng did not fight.

According to Tu Ziguan.

The opponent was an Inner Sect Disciple at the Ninth Heaven of the Second Realm, who had made thorough preparations before taking the stage: a black blindfold, sound-insulation array patterns, and even a Magic Treasure from goodness knows where that was said to isolate Spiritual Qi perception.

He had sealed off his own vision, hearing, and Spiritual Qi perception entirely, leaving only a pair of fists, wanting to fight a "fair" battle with Xie Feng in this manner.

"What is this? UFC or a boxing match? Doesn't this world have Spiritual Qi?"

Xie Feng directly conceded defeat.

He walked out of the Martial Arts Arena, walked back to his south-facing room, and closed the door.

By the time Tu Ziguan chased him to the doorway, Xie Feng was sitting on the couch with his blind staff laid horizontally across his knees.

"Brother Feng, you're not fighting anymore?"

"Not fighting anymore."

"Then what do you plan to do next?"

Xie Feng picked up the blind staff from his knees, the tip of the staff tapping against the ground.

"Eating and sleeping, and Cultivating along the way. Where isn't it cultivating?"

Tapping his blind staff on the ground, Xie Feng stood up and walked over to the window.

Sunlight filtered through the window paper, landing on the hanging veil over his face, its temperature very faint.

"Where isn't cultivating cultivating?"

Xie Feng said it once more.

"First you scared me and forced me to take on a task, and after exposing the bottom line in Kumu Village, there followed the mirror anomaly. If I hadn't been lucky enough to only lose a pair of eyes, I would have lost my life! Stupid Nyarlathotep!"

"Brother Feng," Tu Ziguan said with a teasing expression, "you really dare to curse?"

"What, are you going to report me to the teacher for swearing?"

"You never used to swear before; you would only curse inwardly and never say it out loud."

"I was afraid of death."

"And now?"

"Still afraid now, but is being afraid any use?"

Tu Ziguan took a bite of a sesame flatbread, chewed twice, and laughed.

"Brother Feng, you've finally seen the light."

Xie Feng tapped his blind staff on the ground and walked towards the doorway. "Let's go."

"Where to?"

"Don't know, just going out for a stroll."

Xie Feng began a new way of living.

Now he would Cultivate simply because the weather was nice today.

If Nyarlathotep wanted to watch, let it watch.

How long had he even been in this world, and he had already lost a pair of eyes.

With the summer sun hanging high, Xie Feng's cultivation crawled from the Third Heaven of the Second Realm to the Fourth Heaven of the Second Realm. He didn't risk his life nor go into seclusion; he simply Cultivated every day, ate, slept, and bickered with Tu Ziguan.

He would be driven to roll his eyes by Wen Yushu's riddle-like speech, and occasionally meet Gu Jian in the corridor, where the two would nod at each other and then brush past.

He had also introduced the steam engine and internal combustion engine to Mo Tang, and that little lass had gone back with her eyes shining brightly, not to be seen for these past few months.

One day Wen Yushu came to look for him, sat by the window and drank a cup of tea, and suddenly said a sentence.

"Brother Xie, you've been a bit different lately."

"How am I different? Did Batman hit you in the eye?"

Wen Yushu ignored him. Xie Feng didn't even complain inwardly anymore; he cursed directly out loud, though generally no one could understand anyway.

The two chatted for a bit and agreed to go play chess under the pine forest next week.

The next day, Tu Ziguan came knocking on the door early in the morning.

"Brother Feng! No Cultivating today! We're going swimming!"

Xie Feng opened the door to find Tu Ziguan standing at the entrance, wearing a pair of shorts he must have procured from goodness knows where, carrying two oil-paper packages in his hands. This time it wasn't flatbread; it was steamed buns.

Xie Feng could smell it; they were braised pork-filled.

"Since when did you start eating steamed buns?"

"Starting today. Spring has ended, and I figured I'd change my palate."

Tu Ziguan shoved the steamed buns into Xie Feng's hands.

"Let's go, there's a pool in the back mountain that I discovered last month. The water is mountain spring water, and swimming in this weather is ten thousand times more comfortable than Cultivating."

Xie Feng took a bite of the steamed bun; the braised pork filling was indeed tastier than meat-stuffed flatbread.

He tapped his blind staff in front of him.

"Let's go."

The pool was in the northwest corner of the back mountain, hidden deep within a bamboo grove. Before Xie Feng even reached the water's edge, he heard the sound of metal striking. The sound of his blind staff tapping the ground gradually overlapped with the sound of blacksmithing, and Xie Feng stopped by the edge of the pool.

"Tie Rong?" he asked.

The blacksmithing sound stopped.

"Xie Feng?"

Tie Rong's voice came from the water's edge, carrying a trace of surprise.

"Why are you here?"

"Tu Wu brought me here to swim."

"You can swim," Tie Rong said. "I'm blacksmithing over there; you guys swim over here."

"Sizzle!"

Xie Feng heard the sound of metal entering the water.

So the reason Tie Rong was blacksmithing here was because of this pool of mountain spring water.

How long had she been forging here? Come to think of it, wouldn't water quenching cause it to snap? He hadn't watched few episodes of Forged in Fire in his past life; wasn't oil quenching better? Had this world not discovered oil quenching yet?

Tu Ziguan by the side had already entered the water.

The sound of the splashing water was loud, mixed with the sound of Tu Ziguan sucking in a breath of cold air when hit by the chilly water.

"Brother Feng! Get down here! It's a bit chilly, but it feels awesome!"

Xie Feng didn't enter the water immediately; he had to plug his eyes first.

He directly pressed the veil into his eye sockets, then tied it tight with a black cloth strip.

"Okay, Feng Qingyang has arrived!"

Entering the water in a cannonball fashion with a splash, Xie Feng only felt his butt hurt.

"Damn, this damn pool is so shallow."

"Can't you see for yourself!" Tu Ziguan's voice came from afar.

"Screw you, I'm blind!"

"Oh oh, sorry, I forgot."

Xie Feng heard Tie Rong's unsuccessful attempt to hold back her laughter.

"Tie Rong, you're making fun of me. Your Karma will decrease if you do this!"

Tie Rong's voice suddenly came from beside him, and the blacksmithing sound also stopped.

"Your blind staff needs to be repaired."

Xie Feng was splashing around in the water.

"Can you fix it? I actually want to forge a new one; this old one isn't very durable."

"I can."

"Uh, but I don't have many contribution points left. There's still some, but I don't know if it's enough."

"It's enough."

"Wait, do you know how much is left?"

Xie Feng reported a number for his remaining contribution points.

Tie Rong gave an acknowledgement, which settled the matter.

"Many thanks."

Tie Rong did not reply, and the sound of blacksmithing rang out once more.

The mountain spring water was indeed cold. Xie Feng crouched down, letting the water submerge his chest. The water crept up from his collarbone, passed over his neck, and over the back of his head. He submerged his head into the water. Moisture seeped into his two hollow eye sockets, and the chill poured into his cranial cavity, washing away all the noisy things inside.

Submerged at the bottom of the water, he suddenly thought of a matter.

Is Nyarlathotep watching right now?

A blind man holding his breath at the bottom of the water, and a transmigrator in shorts splashing around.

Let it watch. Anyway, there were only two Outer Gods, and no other audience.

He exhaled a string of bubbles at the bottom of the water.

Standing up, water trickled down his face, poured into his hollow eye sockets, and then flowed out from them.

"Tu Wu."

"Ah?"

"Are there any steamed buns left?"

"Yes! Catch!"

Xie Feng heard the sound of the oil-paper package flying over.

He stood in the pool, the water up to his waist, his two hollow eye sockets facing the sky.

"It's really great to be alive."

Xie Feng finished eating the steamed bun and patted the crumbs off his hands.

"Ow!"

That damned Tu Ziguan took advantage of him finishing the steamed bun to splash water onto him.
