342: Happy cooperation

Meanwhile.

The Morak Family headquarters, top-floor office.

The luxurious decor felt somewhat oppressive in the dim light.

The Family head, an elderly man over sixty but still full of vigor, sat upright and stiff, a trace of deference on his face.

Beside him, Vince had also reined in all his usual flamboyance, remaining as quiet as a competent assistant.

Opposite them, a white man wearing an Advanced custom-made suit was leaning back on the sofa, legs elegantly crossed.

His name was Austin, the person in charge sent by "the Company."

Standing behind Austin was a figure entirely shrouded in a black robe.

He just stood there, motionless, yet the temperature in the entire office seemed to drop by several degrees.

It was a fear stemming from primal instinct, making Vince and the Family head afraid to even breathe heavily.

"So, the channels on the West Coast have basically been established?"

Austin picked up the red wine on the table, swirled it gently, and asked in a conversational tone.

The Family head hurriedly leaned forward slightly.

"Yes, Mr. Austin."

"Thanks to you, our 'new product' is very popular, and sales have exceeded expectations by thirty percent."

"Very good."

Austin nodded with satisfaction and drained the red wine in his glass.

He set down the glass and leaned forward slightly.

"And what about the East Coast?"

"I heard that you encountered some resistance over there?"

The Family head's expression instantly turned somewhat ugly.

He glanced at Vince and answered, steeling himself.

"Yes, sir."

"Several Families on the East Coast hold strong hostility toward us, and... the pawns we planted inside them have been removed one after another recently, resulting in heavy losses."

"Trash."

Before Austin could speak, the Black-Robed Man behind him suddenly let out a hoarse, grating syllable.

Both the Family head and Vince stiffened.

Austin, however, laughed.

He waved his hand, signaling them not to be nervous.

"Don't say that; after all, they are only Mortals."

He leaned back on the sofa again and pointed his chin at the Black-Robed Man behind him.

"To show how much the organization values you, this time, I have specifically brought a powerful helper for you."

"This lord will help you solve all your troubles."

Following his gesture, the Family head and Vince looked cautiously at the Black-Robed Man.

A helper? This lord?

They only felt a chill shoot from the soles of their feet to the tops of their heads; they couldn't tell what kind of abilities the other party possessed.

"Hmph."

The Black-Robed Man let out another cold snort, full of disdain and mockery.

"A bunch of good-for-nothings."

"You can't even watch your own territory properly, yet you still have the leisure to meddle with others."

His words made the complexions of the Family head and Vince change completely.

This was no longer a warning; it was blatant humiliation.

The Family head suppressed his anger and said in a deep voice.

"My lord, I do not understand what you mean."

"Everyone present here is a core member of my Morak Family. Each one has undergone the strictest screening, and their loyalty to the Family is unquestionable!"

The Black-Robed Man seemed to have heard some huge joke.

"Loyalty?"

His hoarse voice carried a hint of eerie laughter.

"That is truly laughable."

"Because, right here in this room, there is a rat you would never expect."

What?!

As soon as these words were spoken, the Family head and Vince were simultaneously shocked.

Everyone present also became restless, looking at each other with suspicious eyes.

How is this possible!

Vince's heart skipped a beat.

This is the heart of the Family; who among those standing here does not have a clean background and has not rendered great service to the Family?

How could there be a mole!

"Impossible!"

The Family head shouted decisively.

"My lord, you can eat food indiscriminately, but you cannot speak indiscriminately!"

However, no sooner had his voice fallen.

A sudden change occurred!

A blonde guard standing not far behind the Family head, whose face had originally been respectful and solemn, suddenly flashed a ferocious look!

He moved!

His body erupted with agility inconsistent with his burly frame, his hands transformed into sharp claws, slashing fiercely at the two companions beside him!

"Pfft!"

Blood splattered!

Before those two guards could even react, their chests were pierced through, and they collapsed limply.

The blonde man, having succeeded in one strike, did not linger to fight, turning and rushing toward the huge floor-to-ceiling window!

The spiritual energy fluctuations within his body erupted without reservation, and that tyrannical aura was surprisingly at the level of a seventh-rank Qi Refiner!

"Stop him!"

The Family head roared in shock and anger.

Vince was also wearing an expression of disbelief.

He had personally vetted this blonde guard; he had served the Family for over five years, always diligent and conscientious, and his strength was only that of an ordinary third-rank Qi Refiner. How could it be...

The remaining guards reacted and rushed up one after another.

But the blonde man's strength far exceeded theirs; within a few moves, he swept everyone aside, only one step away from the window!

Throughout the whole process, Austin sat steadily on the sofa, a hint of playful amusement even on his face.

He didn't even look at the chaos over there, simply making a gesture of invitation toward the Black-Robed Man.

"It seems the strength of the Morak Family is indeed not very impressive."

"Since that's the case, I'll have to trouble you to intervene, sir."

The Black-Robed Man's wide sleeves moved.

"Very well."

"It has indeed been a long time since I stretched my limbs."

The moment his voice fell.

His figure vanished into thin air.

It wasn't an afterimage fast to the extreme, but a true disappearance, completely vanishing from everyone's field of vision.

Vince and the Family head's pupils shook violently, their minds going blank.

This... what kind of technique is this?!

The next second.

"Bang!"

A muffled sound.

The blonde man who had already rushed to the window and was about to break through it and escape, suddenly stopped.

The figure of the Black-Robed Man appeared behind him like a ghost, a hand as withered as a chicken claw tightly gripping his neck.

The blonde man's face was filled with extreme fear and unwillingness; he struggled desperately, the spiritual energy inside his body surging wildly, but he couldn't shake that hand in the slightest.

"Snap."

The Black-Robed Man squeezed casually.

The blonde man's entire body's bones emitted a tooth-aching crunch, and he went limp, with only one breath left hanging.

The Black-Robed Man carried the half-dead blonde man, sauntered back to the center of the hall, and tossed him at the feet of the Family head and Vince.

"Interrogate him yourselves."

He said hoarsely.

"Arrange a quiet room for me; I need to rest."

Having said that, he ignored everyone else and walked straight out of the office.

Austin also stood up, straightened his suit, and revealed a meaningful smile at the Family head and Vince, who were already dumbstruck.

"Pleasant cooperation."

After saying that, he also turned and left.

In the large office, only the high-ranking members of the Morak Family and the traitor on the ground, who was neither dead nor alive, remained.

The Family head and Vince looked at each other, and both saw deep shock and fear in the other's eyes.
