461: Divine Court Conference
Kunlun Academy entered an unprecedented mode of frantic Cultivation.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the solar system, Jupiter.
Deep within that massive gaseous planet, at the center of the Eye of the Storm, existed a secret, independent space.
The "Divine Court."
There was no Immortal Qi here, only Demonic Qi and Devilish Qi so thick they were almost tangible.
A palace of unimaginable grandeur was built entirely from the bleached white skeletons of various creatures.
The ground was covered with a thick, crimson carpet dyed by coagulated blood; it felt soft underfoot and emitted a sickly sweet scent of blood.
Inside the main hall, over a hundred figures were gathered.
Each one radiated a terrifying aura sufficient to plunge the living beings of an entire planet into an eternal nightmare.
They took various forms: some were humanoid, some were beast-like, and some were half-human, half-beast.
There were sea monsters from the deep ocean, their bodies as massive as mountain ranges.
There were giants from the desert, their entire bodies composed of yellow sand.
There were fallen demon gods from Hell, with wings growing from their backs.
These were all peerless great demons who had been slumbering since ancient or primordial times; each had once been the absolute Dominator of a certain era or region on Earth.
At this moment, however, they had all restrained their tyrannical auras, standing respectfully on both sides of the palace like docile sheep.
The gazes of all the demons converged at the very top of the palace.
Upon that throne carved from a massive skull.
The throne was empty, occupied only by a mass of constantly twisting and shifting darkness, as if connecting to some unknown dimension, radiating a pressure that made all the demons present tremble.
Kishibe Rokuji knelt in the center of the hall, his head buried deep, his body trembling slightly from a mix of excitement and fear.
In a tone bordering on an incantation, he reported the latest intelligence that had just arrived from Earth.
"Reporting to the Dominator."
"Just a short while ago, the five kinsmen of the Body Integration Stage we sent to test Kunlun... have all perished."
Kishibe Rokuji's voice was not loud, yet it echoed clearly throughout the deathly silent palace.
He paused for a moment, seemingly organizing his words to describe the scene that still made his Divine Soul shudder.
"The Dean of Kunlun Academy, Li Heng."
"He... only took less than ten breaths of time."
"Merely ten breaths."
Kishibe Rokuji looked up, his eyes filled with fanaticism and awe.
"The five lords of the Body Integration Stage were utterly annihilated, body and soul!"
The words fell.
The entire bone palace fell into absolute silence.
The various demonic auras that had been faintly clashing earlier vanished completely at this moment.
All the demons widened their eyes, their faces written with disbelief.
Ten breaths?
Killing five in the Body Integration Stage?
Is this a fucking fairy tale!
Even during the peak of the Ancient Deities, achieving this would have required a significant price, wouldn't it?
What kind of monster is that human named Li Heng?
"Impossible!"
A dull roar like thunder broke the silence in the hall.
A mammoth beast, as large as a mountain and covered in frost, stepped out. With every step it took, the entire palace shook.
It came from the Siberian Ice Plains, a famous fierce general among the ancient Yao Race, Monta.
Monta glared at Kishibe Rokuji with its blood-red eyes, two streams of white cold air snorting from its nostrils.
"Kishibe Rokuji, have you been scared witless by that human brat?"
"Killing five Body Integration Stage experts in ten breaths? Do you think he's slaughtering chickens!"
"In my view, that human likely just used some despicable Magic Treasure to succeed in a sneak attack!"
Monta's voice was full of disdain and irritability.
It did not believe that the Human Race of this era could give birth to such a terrifying existence.
However, as soon as its words fell, a cold voice tinged with mockery rang out.
"Sneak attack?"
"Monta, has that ice-frozen brain of yours forgotten how to think?"
A Fallen Angel with twelve black wings on his back and a handsome yet eerie face slowly stepped out from the shadows.
He glanced at the irritable mammoth beast, his lips curling into a mocking arc.
"I saw the final image transmitted back with my own eyes."
"Lord Heavy-Armored Demonic Figure's Physical Body defense was enough to rank in the top three among us."
"And the result?"
The Fallen Angel paused, seemingly relishing that terrifying scene.
"That man named Li Heng used only one punch."
"Yes, one punch."
"Lord Heavy-Armored Demonic Figure's demonic armor, which was enough to withstand Forbidden Curse bombardments, along with his Physical Body and Divine Soul, just... shattered."
"Like a smashed watermelon."
"You call this a sneak attack?"
The Fallen Angel's voice caused the temperature in the palace to drop several more degrees.
Monta's massive body froze; it wanted to argue but found it couldn't say a single word.
One punch... shattered the Heavy-Armored Demonic Figure?
This... a chill surged from its thick spine all the way to its crown.
Seeing this, Kishibe Rokuji spoke again.
"My lords, Li Heng's strength is unfathomable, and Kunlun Academy's Luck is at its peak."
"I suggest we remain in hiding for now and stop taking the initiative to provoke them."
"Wait one more year at most."
"In one year, the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi will erupt completely. Our kinsmen Sealed in the 'Divine Prison' on the moon and the kings slumbering deep within the Earth's core will all awaken."
"At that time, our forces will converge and strike in full force. Overthrowing Kunlun will be but a flick of the fingers!"
Kishibe Rokuji's plan was sound and gained the approval of most demons.
If they couldn't win head-on, they would develop stealthily first.
There was no shame in that.
However, there were always those who were stubborn.
"Wait?"
"Wait a year?"
"What a joke!"
A violent voice rang out from a corner of the hall.
A giant made of lava, burning with dark red flames, stood up.
Every breath it took caused the surrounding air to become scorching and distorted.
It was the Lava Giant, an ancient demon god who had awakened from Venus.
"We have slumbered for eons; we did not awaken to hide like cowards here!"
The Lava Giant roared in a muffled voice, completely disregarding Kishibe Rokuji.
"A mere human immortal sect dares to stand in the way of our return?"
"You may be afraid, but I am not!"
The Lava Giant pointed at Kishibe Rokuji, its eyes full of contempt.
"I'm going to Earth right now to wipe that place called Kunlun off the map!"
"I want to see exactly how much weight this so-called number one human sect truly carries!"
"Lord Lava Giant! You mustn't!"
Kishibe Rokuji's expression changed drastically as he hurriedly tried to dissuade him.
"The Dominator has not yet given the order..."
But the Lava Giant wouldn't listen at all.
It gave a wild laugh, its massive body turning into a dark red streak of light that crashed directly through the dome of the Divine Court palace, disappearing into Jupiter's endless storms.
From beginning to end, the mass of darkness on the throne showed no reaction.
It was as if the Lava Giant's departure was merely a trivial matter.
Kishibe Rokuji looked at the huge hole in the dome, his heart sinking.
He knew the Dominator had tacitly approved of the Lava Giant's actions.
[Fine, let this fool go and test Li Heng's depth.]
[Just a mere pawn.]
Kishibe Rokuji lowered his head again, a hint of calculation flashing in his eyes... Earth.
Above the East Sea.
The sky was suddenly dyed a dark red.
A massive meteorite, burning with raging fire, tore through the atmosphere, descending upon the sky above Jinghai City with an aura of total destruction.
"Hahahaha!"
"Feeble humans! Lowly ants!"
"I, the Lava Giant, have returned!"
The violent laughter exploded in the ears of every citizen of Jinghai City.
The massive meteorite transformed in mid-air into the shape of a molten giant; it looked down at the brightly lit, bustling metropolis below, its eyes filled with greed and tyranny.
It did not choose to go directly to Kunlun Mountain.
It wanted to use the blood and wails of the billions of souls in this city to announce its return!
Jinghai City was in imminent danger!
