84: Like a god

Facing the overwhelming, foul-smelling tentacles that swept towards him, Li Heng merely hovered in mid-air, not even bothering to move.

He decided to test the true extent of his Nascent Soul Stage power on this clueless beast.

"Early Golden Core Stage, barely acceptable," he muttered to himself.

The next second, the gigantic tentacles, powerful enough to easily smash a warship into fragments, eerily stopped ten meters from his body.

There was no violent explosion, no dazzling clash of Spells.

The thick tentacles began to decompose and dissipate from their tips, inch by inch, turning into primordial water vapor that vanished with a gust of wind.

The entire process was eerily quiet.

The tourists on the ship were petrified.

They watched as the terrifying attack, like the end of the world, silently disappeared.

And the man hovering in the air hadn't moved a single finger the entire time.

"What happened? Where are the tentacles?"

"It... it disappeared on its own?"

"No, he... he made them disappear!"

Li Heng had no interest in the murmurs of the ants below.

He raised his hand and gently parted the surging Amazon River below.

Rumble—!

The entire wide Amazon River was as if torn open by an invisible pair of giant hands.

The turbid river water surged high on both sides, forming two transparent water walls a hundred meters tall. Sunlight penetrated the water walls, refracting strange colors.

The riverbed was exposed.

A gigantic octopus-shaped Yao Beast, comparable in size to a small island, was thus exposed to the air. Its hundreds of lantern-sized eyes were filled with shock and confusion.

Everyone on the sightseeing boat stopped breathing.

The scene before them had completely exceeded their cognitive scope.

Parting the sea.

This was a scene that only appeared in myths.

"God... a miracle!"

A white-haired old man knelt on the ground, trembling, his hands clasped together, frantically worshipping in Li Heng's direction.

"Oh, my God! He is the God!"

Thump, thump.

People on the deck, regardless of nationality or faith, made the same choice at this moment.

They knelt.

They offered their humblest respect to the man with the Eastern face.

The octopus Yao Beast on the riverbed finally felt the terrifying pressure that made its Soul tremble.

Its not-so-high intelligence was frantically sounding an alarm.

Run!

Run fast!

This human was not an existence it could contend with!

The instinct for survival overrode everything. The Yao Beast's huge eyes rolled, and its hundreds of surviving tentacles suddenly changed direction, no longer attacking Li Heng, but instead whipping up towering water columns and viciously smashing them towards the sightseeing boat full of tourists.

Besieging Wei to rescue Zhao.

It wanted to use the lives of these Mortals to buy itself a chance at survival.

"Ah—!!"

The tourists on the boat shrieked in despair as they watched the world-destroying water columns crash down.

They had just witnessed a miracle, and the next second they were about to be smashed into meat paste by this demon.

Li Heng's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

He found it troublesome.

"Forbidden."

One word, softly uttered.

Words become law.

The violent water columns, at the moment they were about to hit the sightseeing boat, all solidified in mid-air, then turned into a sky full of mist and drifted away.

The octopus Yao Beast felt its Spell connection with the water columns instantly severed by an irresistible force, and it completely descended into madness.

It no longer held any lucky psychological, its massive body suddenly ignited, burning its vital essence.

The next moment, it transformed into a streak of blood-red light, fiercely crashing into the exposed riverbed, attempting to escape deep underground.

"Only this much intelligence?"

Li Heng was somewhat disappointed.

He had originally thought he might encounter a tough opponent, at least one who could provide some information about the Seal of the Ancient Demons.

But it was just a stupid creature with low intelligence.

Then there was no need to keep it.

He raised his right hand, spread his five fingers, and gently clenched them towards the Yao Beast frantically drilling into the ground below.

"Azure Thunder Transformation."

The sky instantly grew dim.

Large swathes of dark clouds gathered from all directions, engulfing the entire Amazon rainforest.

Within the clouds, golden electric light flashed wildly, each flash accompanied by a roar that made heaven and earth tremble.

Countless golden bolts of lightning converged and intertwined within the clouds, finally forming a ferocious Azure Dragon a thousand meters long.

When the Thunder Dragon opened its eyes, the entire world was illuminated in a golden hue.

The octopus Yao Beast underground felt the threat of death. It let out a desperate roar, suddenly burst out from underground, and swung all its tentacles, launching the last attack of its life.

However, its attacks were instantly shattered upon contact with the golden electric arcs emanating from the Thunder Dragon's body.

The Thunder Dragon let out a roar and swooped down.

Without giving the Yao Beast any time to react, it swallowed its massive body whole in one gulp.

Boom—!!!

Golden light exploded.

The entire riverbed, along with the Golden Core Stage Yao Beast, was instantly vaporized in the lightning, turning into dust.

All that remained was a terrifying, bottomless pit several kilometers in diameter, with edges resembling glazed glass.

Li Heng dealt with the Yao Beast, then turned to glance at the completely stunned Mortals on the ship, and then at the massive glazed pit beneath his feet.

"South America... it can be designated as a training area for the academy later, so those little guys can get some practice."

With that, his figure flickered, turning into a streak of light, and disappeared into the sky... At the same time.

On the other side of the Earth, America, Nevada.

Area 52, three hundred meters underground, a secret research base.

Piercing alarms blared throughout the base.

"Warning! Warning! High-intensity energy reaction detected!"

"Energy source located: South America, Amazon Basin!"

"Intensity Rank... Oh my! It's exceeded the measurement limit! The instruments are about to explode!"

A blonde, blue-eyed analyst screamed in horror, watching the red data on the screen instantly spike to its maximum.

The entire command center was in chaos.

"What's going on? Is it a nuclear test by some country?"

"Impossible! The energy fluctuations of a nuclear test aren't like this! This... this is purer, more terrifying!"

Just as everyone was in a frantic scramble, the red data on the screen mysteriously disappeared in less than thirty seconds.

As if it had never appeared.

A white supervisor with a general's star on his shoulder rushed into the command center. He looked at the last remaining data on the screen, his expression becoming incredibly solemn.

"Immediately notify the Department of Defense!"

"Also, connect to the emergency hotline for the highest level!"

He paused, then added in an almost dreamlike tone.

"Tell them, in South America, an energy reaction suspected to be 'divine' Rank has appeared."
