83: Mayan civilization

On the other side of the Earth, deep in the vast Amazon rainforest of South America.

Li Heng stood alone before a magnificent yet dilapidated ancient ruin.

He looked at the gigantic stone gate in the center of the ruins, eroded beyond recognition by time, and confirmed he hadn't come to the wrong place.

“Mayan civilization ruins,”

Li Heng muttered to himself, some distant memories surfacing in his mind.

The 2012 apocalypse.

This prophecy was widely discussed back then.

However, he was too young at the time, only five years old, and hadn't paid any attention to it. Now, standing amidst these ruins, he indeed felt the presence of Demonic Qi.

Li Heng spread his Divine Sense, and his immense perception instantly enveloped the entire ruin.

Soon, he discovered something interesting.

He stepped into the ruin and came before a crumbling temple, where several large murals still remained on the walls.

The content of the murals was simple.

The first depicted a group of Mayans in peculiar attire, kneeling and worshipping a monster priest with eight arms.

The second showed the eight-armed monster pointing at the stars in the sky and saying something, after which his entire body transformed into a thick black smoke and vanished.

The third showed the Mayans erecting a massive stone tablet, on which something was inscribed in twisted Mayan script.

Li Heng couldn't understand the ancient script.

But he didn't need to.

He extended his finger and lightly touched the stone tablet, a wisp of pure Spiritual Qi probing into it from his fingertip.

The faint will remaining on the stone tablet was instantly captured by him.

“The day our Lord awakens is the end of the Long Epoch.”

“The end of the Long Epoch…”

Li Heng made a quick calculation, and it corresponded exactly to the year 2012 of the common era in the Mortal world.

“After all that, the apocalypse was just a delayed delivery?”

He couldn't help but quip.

“So many years have passed, why is there no movement at all? Could there be a problem with the Seal?”

With this doubt, Li Heng walked towards the core of the ruins.

There was a huge altar there, but it was already dilapidated, its center forcibly broken through from the inside, with rubble scattered everywhere.

Li Heng squatted down and picked up a bit of the altar's stone dust.

He closed his eyes and sensed for a moment, then immediately understood the problem.

“Insufficient Spiritual Qi.”

The Seal of the Ancient Demons operated by relying on Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.

However, in recent ancient times, the Earth's Spiritual Qi dried up, causing the power of the Seal to weaken to its extreme.

The great Demonic Demon sealed inside probably tried to break through by force, but due to the lack of Spiritual Qi supply from the outside, he weakened himself and failed to escape.

“It seems time is very pressing.”

Li Heng stood up.

Now that Spiritual Qi was recovering, these sealed Ancient Demons would sooner or later make a comeback.

He had to accelerate the pace of establishing his school and quickly cultivate a group of Cultivators who could stand on their own.

He quickly formed several hand Seals, and golden runes appeared out of thin air, imprinting themselves on the broken altar, forming a small Sealing formation.

This was only a temporary measure, but it could at least buy some more time.

Having done all this, Li Heng soared into the sky, leaving the ruins.

Since he couldn't find any in the country, these blessed lands abroad should have some stragglers.

He hovered above the Amazon River, his Divine Sense probing downwards without reservation.

Soon, he locked onto a river section with particularly dense Demonic Qi.

And on that river section, a sightseeing boat was slowly cruising.

The tourists on board were taking pictures of the rainforest scenery on both banks with their cameras when suddenly someone pointed at the sky and gasped in surprise.

“Oh my God! Look! What is that?”

“A man! A man is flying!”

“Is that a drone? No, it's a real person!”

The deck instantly erupted into chaos. Everyone raised their phones and cameras, pointing them at Li Heng, who was suspended in mid-air, and the sound of shutters filled the air.

“Quick, capture it! This is definitely headline news!”

“Who is he? Superman?”

“A new superhero has appeared!”

The tour guide on the boat frantically yelled into a megaphone, trying to maintain order, but no one paid him any attention.

Li Heng paid no mind to the commotion of the Mortals below.

His entire attention was focused on the waters beneath the sightseeing boat.

Deep within the murky river water, a massive Demonic Demon was lurking.

Early Golden Core Stage.

This aura was more powerful than all the Demonic Demons he had encountered in the country combined.

Perhaps sensing Li Heng's undisguised probing, the Demonic Demon underwater was enraged.

“Roar—!”

A muffled roar erupted from the depths of the water, and the surface of the entire river section began to churn violently.

The sightseeing boat swayed violently in the suddenly appearing giant waves, and the tourists on board stumbled, their excited chatter instantly turning into terrified screams.

“What's happening? The boat is going to capsize!”

“Help!”

The next second.

Splash!

Several thick black tentacles suddenly broke through the water, bringing a foul-smelling gust of wind, and fiercely lashed out at Li Heng in mid-air.

The tourists on the deck, seeing the terrifying tentacles, each as thick as a bucket and covered in suckers, fell into despair and panic.

Facing this world-shattering blow, Li Heng merely stood calmly in the air.

“Finally, something decent has arrived.”
