130: Chapter 130 Drug manufacturing den? Silencing them? Are you kidding me?!
A-Fei was startled by this sudden voice, and he almost dropped the flashlight in his hand.
"Ah? Master, what did you say?"
"It's not a ghost?"
"Then what is the sound I heard?"
A-Fei turned the camera back to face himself, his face showing a mix of confusion and the annoyance of having his thunder stolen.
He was just getting into the groove; why was Master being so unsupportive?
Su Yun stared at the screen, speaking extremely fast.
"The footsteps you heard were indeed made by humans."
"But not dead people, living people."
"And five fully grown, living people at that."
A-Fei froze for a moment, then grinned.
"Living people?"
"Master, stop joking. In this godforsaken wilderness, where would living people come from?"
"Other than a streamer like me who's gone crazy wanting to go viral, who would come to a mental hospital in the middle of the night?"
"Could it be homeless people?"
Su Yun shook his head, his gaze sharp.
"Homeless people couldn't afford that kind of equipment."
"They are holding machetes and fire axes in their hands."
"They are coming up from the stairwell in front of you, preparing to hack you, the intruder, into pieces."
As soon as these words were spoken, the barrage in the live stream, which had been spamming "There's a ghost," suddenly paused for a second.
Immediately after, the screen was filled with question marks.
"???"
"Machetes? Fire axes? What's going on?"
"Holy crap, the script isn't going in the right direction!"
"What did Master divine?"
A-Fei was also dumbfounded.
He looked at Su Yun on the screen; his first reaction was that Master was joking with him, playing along to create show effects.
"Master, can your fortune-telling actually divine what weapons the other party is holding?"
"Please don't scare me, I'm faint of heart."
"How could there possibly be someone here with an axe to hack me?"
"I'm just a streamer, I haven't offended anyone."
Su Yun ignored his teasing.
His gaze was locked onto the red dot on the system panel.
That red dot, representing the drug dealer, was moving extremely fast.
It had already reached the stairwell.
Less than ten meters away from A-Fei.
"In your current position, is there a ventilation opening under your feet?"
Su Yun suddenly asked.
A-Fei subconsciously looked down.
"Yeah, there's an iron grate. What about it?"
"That's the exhaust vent for the basement."
Su Yun's voice was cold enough to make people shiver.
"The second basement level of this building is a drug manufacturing den."
"You were yelling and using a high-beam flashlight upstairs; the people below heard you long ago."
"They aren't coming up now to scare you."
"They are coming to silence you."
Boom!
As soon as those two words came out, A-Fei felt his head buzz.
Drug manufacturing den?
Silencing a witness?
What the hell kind of insane plot twist is this?
He was just a small-time outdoor adventure streamer; how did he get dragged into such a major case?
"Ma—Master, you're not joking, right?"
A-Fei's voice was shaking, and his legs began to tremble.
If it were a ghost, he could still run for it, or chant "Amitabha" a couple of times to bolster his courage.
But if these were drug dealers with knives...
Those are the types who kill without blinking!
Looking at A-Fei's cowardly appearance, Su Yun didn't have time to explain to him.
On the system map, that red dot had already rushed out of the stairwell.
It was right at the corner of the corridor.
"I don't have time to joke with you."
"Listen, don't look back, and don't run around blindly."
"Turn off the flashlight in your hand."
Su Yun spoke quickly, carrying an unquestionable sense of command.
Although A-Fei was still half-doubting, his body was very honest.
With a click.
The high-beam flashlight went out.
In the live stream, only the faint light from the phone screen remained, illuminating A-Fei's pale face.
The surroundings plunged into darkness.
That suffocating feeling of oppression could be felt even through the screen.
"Master, th—then what?"
A-Fei lowered his voice, his teeth chattering.
In the darkness, those heavy footsteps became even clearer.
Thud.
Thud.
Thud.
It was like stepping on someone's heart.
Furthermore, it wasn't just footsteps.
There was also the sound of metal scraping against the ground.
Szzzt! Szzzt!
It really sounded like something heavy was being dragged.
A-Fei's breathing almost stopped.
He stared intently at the end of the dark corridor, feeling as if his heart was about to jump out of his throat.
"Don't speak."
Su Yun stared at the screen, silently counting the distance in his mind.
Five meters.
Four meters.
Three meters.
Borrowing the faint light from the phone, Su Yun could already see a blurry black shadow appearing at the edge of the screen.
The shadow was tall, and it was indeed dragging a long, slender object in its hand.
It was a fire axe.
The axe blade scraped across the concrete floor, sparking a few faint embers.
A-Fei had clearly seen it too.
His pupils constricted violently, his mouth opened wide, and he was just about to let out a scream.
"If you don't want to die, shut up!"
Su Yun gave a low shout, directly stuffing A-Fei's scream back into his throat.
"Follow my instructions."
"Three-second countdown."
"Three."
A-Fei was stiff all over, standing in place like a wooden post.
He wanted to run, but his legs were so weak he couldn't lift them at all.
That feeling of fear, shrouded by death, made his mind go blank.
He could only instinctively obey Su Yun's voice.
"Two."
The black shadow had already reached him.
In the darkness, a pair of fierce eyes seemed to light up.
Immediately after, there was a sound of rushing wind.
Whoosh!
Something was swung up, carrying a foul wind.
"One."
"Duck!"
Su Yun roared the last two words.
A-Fei didn't have any time to think.
His body reacted faster than his brain.
He suddenly retracted his head, and his whole body followed suit by squatting to the ground.
Just in that 0.1 seconds when he ducked his head.
Swoosh!
A cold glint flew past, grazing his scalp.
The cold wind made his scalp ache.
Immediately after.
Bang!
A loud noise exploded behind A-Fei.
It was the sound of metal hacking into the brick wall.
Sparks flew everywhere, and rubble scattered.
Some tiny stone chips even flew into A-Fei's neck.
A-Fei stiffly turned his head and, using the light from the phone screen, looked at the wall behind him.
He saw a rusty red fire axe embedded deep in the wall.
The axe blade was away from the position of his head when he was standing just now.
Less than five centimeters.
If he hadn't ducked just now.
His head would have already been split open like a rotten watermelon.
"Run! Run in the opposite direction!"
Su Yun's roar pulled the terrified A-Fei back from the gates of hell.
A-Fei looked at the axe embedded in the wall, his head buzzing, and felt a warmth in his crotch; he had truly pissed himself from fear.
But his survival instinct was currently maxed out; he let out a weird cry, turned around, and sprinted towards the other end of the corridor.
"Stop!"
"Don't let him run away!"
Several angry curses came from behind.
As A-Fei ran, he looked back; at this glance, his soul nearly flew out of his body.
From the darkness just now, three burly men had emerged.
These men had fierce, fleshy faces, holding machetes and iron bars, and the leader was carrying another fire axe that had almost taken his life just now, chasing after him with murderous intent.
