11: Chapter 11: The Second Way to Gain Experience Points

"The constituent units of a Magic Spell Model are not Spell Nodes and mana pathways!"

Mo Bai didn't complete all the group experiments; instead, after finding the pattern, he directly used sampling experiments to verify this point.

"There's another layer between the Magic Spell Model and the Spell Node!"

"This can be called a Spell Structure."

Mo Bai excitedly recorded this in the forum's draft box.

"Spell Nodes and mana pathways form a Spell Structure, and different Spell Structures have different functions.

Finally, all these Spell Structures constitute the entire Magic Spell Model, releasing the spell!"

After completing all verifications, Mo Bai immediately took out the last large, complete wolf king skin.

This skin was as large as an A3 sheet of paper, and without any hesitation, he quickly put his brush to it.

"One, two, three... ten... fifteen!"

In a blink of an eye, fifteen Spell Nodes were laid down, and then one mana pathway after another was quickly connected.

Ten consecutive mana pathways did not trigger any magical changes; the mana only became more turbulent.

"Yes, yes, yes, that's right, it's like this."

Mo Bai looked at the stable mana pathway, a slight smile curving his lips.

"There are three constituent structures in this Wind Blade Technique model.

The first should be... Restraint!"

Mo Bai drew a stroke of a mana pathway, and these five Spell Nodes in this small section immediately connected to form a small whole, with mana flowing and changes occurring within it, but no anomalies happened.

"The second structure should be... Wind!"

He looked at this Spell Structure that had just caused him to be blown away countless times.

This structure consisted of seven Spell Nodes. The moment the last mana pathway formed, mana surged and impacted, with faint gales howling within. Mo Bai subconsciously dodged, but the mana did not transform into wind and blow out.

"It really is like this!"

Mo Bai watched as the mana transformed into a fierce wind, then was restrained into a Wind Blade, slowly rising and falling, appearing and disappearing.

"This order is indeed correct. So next is the final... Mana Induction!"

The tired Mo Bai opened his eyes, which were now bloodshot, but he ignored it, concentrating fully as he guided the Wolf-hair Brush in his hand to draw the final stroke.

"Buzz!"

With the completion of the final stroke, the mana pathways of the entire Magic Spell Model were completely opened. All the mana in the beast skin surged into the Magic Spell Model, and then faint whirlpools appeared, with mana materializing out of thin air and flowing into them.

Silently, the entire wolf king skin seemed to subtly become heavier. The traces of Wolf King Blood on it turned into dark red brushstrokes, as if it had experienced a long passage of time, subtly becoming ancient.

However, Mo Bai was unable to witness this scene. After forcing himself to finish the last stroke, he felt dizzy, his brain felt as if it had been emptied and then violently split open by an axe. He collapsed directly to the ground, losing consciousness.

When Mo Bai woke up again, it was already broad daylight.

He slowly got up, cradling his splitting headache.

"My head... did someone hit me?"

Mo Bai shook his head, gradually recalling what happened before he fainted.

"Oh right, my Magic Spell Model!"

He reacted and immediately looked at the beast skin in front of him.

At this moment, the originally bloody wolf king skin now looked as if it had been processed.

The thick, ancient beast skin was like a sheet of Xuan paper, with a beautiful dark red model drawn upon it.

What was truly captivating was the mana flowing within it according to some pattern.

The mana flowed into each other, influencing one another, finally triggering a qualitative change in mana, transforming into an invisible Wind Blade that floated within it.

Mo Bai had a thought.

With just a thought, this Wind Blade seemed as if it would fly out guided by his spirit.

More importantly, the mana within this Magic Spell Model did not dissipate with the passage of time.

It even slowly absorbed mana from the environment to sustain its own existence.

"It's done!"

Mo Bai's lips curved slightly.

"Hahahahaha! I did it!"

"A magic scroll!"

"I succeeded!!"

Intense excitement and a sense of accomplishment overwhelmed him, and it took a long, long time for him to recover.

"I'm truly amazing."

Looking at this magic scroll, Mo Bai still couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

He carefully rolled up the precious magic scroll and put it away, then turned to look at the remaining beast skin and Wolf Blood, his emotions finally calming down, replaced by a touch of heartache.

"What a pity, all the mana has dissipated."

"But with insufficient Spiritual Power, there's no other way; I couldn't use it all before it dissipated."

"Still, to have made one is already very good.

However, a lot of mana is still stored in these wolf bones."

Mo Bai rubbed his temples; his brain was still throbbing with a splitting pain from the excessive consumption of Spiritual Power.

"The bones can probably last another ten days to half a month, so I'll keep them for now.

They might also serve as a deterrent; with these, ordinary wild beasts probably wouldn't dare approach me."

After putting away the Wolf King Bone, and the wolf king skin and Wolf Blood, which had lost all their mana, Mo Bai continued walking forward.

He didn't go deeper, but instead followed the sound of water and horizontally found a lake.

Looking at the calm lake, Mo Bai immediately felt refreshed, and next to the lake was a cliff, with a cave just around the bend.

"What a good place."

"Alright, I'll live here; it'll shelter me from wind and rain."

Mo Bai joyfully walked into the cave. The cave, seven or eight meters deep, was empty and quite flat. He immediately got busy.

With his Spiritual Power exhausted and injured, even a slight attempt caused a headache, so Mo Bai didn't dare to continue experimenting and simply busied himself with chores.

He cut down trees to make a wall, and soon enclosed a small space at the back of the cave, laid out a small bed, and made a fire pit, where he roasted a piece of wolf king meat.

"By the way, why do I have no reaction at all after eating this mana-infused meat?"

Mo Bai ate another piece of wolf king meat, muttering softly.

Then he shook his head, went into the cave, and fell into a deep sleep on the wooden bed.

When he woke up again, it was completely dark.

Only then did Mo Bai's Spiritual Power fully recover.

"Phew."

"Spiritual Power exhaustion is really uncomfortable, but my spirit seems to have gotten a little stronger?"

He tried to sense mana and immediately found that his perception had indeed become much clearer.

"Can exhausting Spiritual Power and then recovering it train Spiritual Power?

Can I get stronger without adding points?"

Mo Bai was slightly surprised and couldn't help but open his attribute panel to take a look, confirming that his spirit attribute was still twelve points, and that Spiritual Power indeed became stronger through training.

But just then, he suddenly noticed.

"Hmm? Why did my experience points increase?"

"experience points: 146/300."

"It was clearly 137 before, an increase of nine points! But I didn't kill any monsters."

Mo Bai immediately opened the system notification page to check.

As soon as he opened it, the first system notification immediately caught his eye.

"experience points +9."

Checking the time, it was precisely when his Spiritual Power had fully recovered.

"So... training Spiritual Power can also grant experience?"

"What about training the body?"

Mo Bai couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

"A second way to level up? Will these two leveling methods be different?"

One is unearned, gained out of thin air, and the other is solid training, accumulating bit by bit?"

"Training, or killing monsters to level up?"
