6: Chapter 6 The Wolf King Eats Hearts

"Alright."

Mo Bai readily agreed, his Dagger glinting in the air for a moment before decisively descending.

"Pfft!"

The crude Dagger was not crude when it came to killing; it instantly pierced the Old Beggar's back.

"Help..."

Another Beggar nearby was about to shout when Mo Bai slit his throat.

"Phew."

Mo Bai looked at the two corpses at his feet and scratched his head.

"Killing people... isn't that hard, it's easier than killing a head wolf.

And there are no adverse physical reactions."

He shook his head, then used the Dagger to stab each of the three in the neck, head, heart, right chest, throat, and stomach, before casually finding an intersection and leaving.

Since they harbored murderous intent towards him, he naturally wouldn't show mercy.

Moreover, this was just a game, although it wasn't just a game either.

This wouldn't change just because he could resurrect.

It must be said that these old hands chose a very good location, both hidden and accessible from all directions. Before long, Mo Bai didn't even know which alley he had slipped into.

But he wasn't in a hurry. He simply found a spot, lay down, and pretended to be a Beggar.

Well, he didn't need to pretend; he already was one.

Unable to afford an inn, no house, no land, no job, and no money – what else could he be but a Beggar?

After lying still for a while, Mo Bai moved to another spot.

Soon, several Beggars gathered around.

"Where are you from? Don't you know this is our Great Axe Gang's territory?

Have you reported in?"

One Beggar shouted at Mo Bai ferociously.

"Huh? I didn't know, I'm from out of town."

"What?"

Seeing Mo Bai's clueless expression, the Beggars exchanged glances. Suddenly, two of them grabbed Mo Bai's arms and dragged him into the alley.

"Oh, is that so? Come, I'll take you to report in..."

Before long, Mo Bai mumbled as he emerged from another alley.

"Only about ten Copper Coins, these guys are a bit poor, and only one potion bottle.

Poor as a Beggar."

In the alley behind him, several Beggars had fallen asleep after sniffing the Knockout Powder and couldn't be woken up, so Mo Bai had to leave.

That day, the residents of Oak Town were all abuzz with discussion.

"The Great Axe Gang is getting more and more rampant, snatching one person after another.

I just went to the General Store to buy something, and on the way back, I saw two or three people being taken away by the Great Axe Gang's Beggars.

They never came back out."

"Me too, me too, I saw it too, they caught two today."

"Really?"

"Then be careful when you go out at night, never go out alone, and lock your doors properly."

"Stop talking, stop talking, someone's coming, don't let the Great Axe Gang hear us."

"Yes, yes, yes."

The few immediately fell silent.

Mo Bai, who was passing by, scratched his head.

"Is this Great Axe Gang really that rampant? Catching seven or eight people in a day?

But why haven't I seen it once?"

"Forget it, maybe it's just bad luck."

"Hmm, I guess I did a good deed today."

Mo Bai stretched, his previously empty purse now containing nearly two hundred Copper Coins, plus eleven small tubes filled with Knockout Powder.

It's just that the efficiency became a bit low later; he lay there for half a day without any Beggars coming, forcing him to stop and sigh.

Otherwise, he could have gotten more.

"But killing NPCs doesn't seem to give experience points."

Mo Bai mumbled. The Beggars he actively lured didn't need to be killed, but if experience points were counted, the first three Beggars would have given him several tens of experience points.

He glanced at the sky, seeing that it wasn't dark yet, and headed towards the Blacksmith Shop.

Before long, he spent a full one hundred and twenty Copper Coins to buy a Steel Spike at the Blacksmith Shop.

"One Copper Coin can buy a Black Bread, which can be used as a weapon and a day's dry ration.

This one Iron Spike costs one hundred and twenty Copper Coins, these prices..."

Mo Bai sighed faintly, gripping the wooden-handled Iron Spike. It was a full thirty centimeters long, already barely counting as a sharp weapon. If he bought another hard wooden stick to attach to it, it would directly transform into a Spear.

Without stopping, he walked out directly, holding the Spear. As he passed the main entrance, he heard someone shouting.

"Found a Bandit Den, anyone want to team up?.

The experience points are absolutely explosive, you'll definitely get rich."

"Hmm? Doesn't he know that killing people doesn't give experience points?

Or does killing Bandits?"

Mo Bai glanced, mumbling softly, with no intention of participating.

However, he hadn't gone far when he vaguely heard someone walk over to respond.

"Hello, I'm from the Green Leaf Guild. Do you sell the coordinates of the Bandit Den? For a fee."

"Green Leaf Guild? Seems quite famous."

Then Mo Bai walked further away and couldn't hear clearly.

Returning the way he came, as soon as he left the road, he heard wolf howls.

"Awoo!"

"Awoo!"

"Awoo!"

Mo Bai's expression turned cold.

"They really think highly of me, still waiting for me after a whole day.

I've encountered plenty of players being corpse-guarded and chased, but this is the first time I've been guarded by wild monsters."

Listening to the continuous wolf howls, Mo Bai didn't hesitate at all, striding forward quickly.

In the blink of an eye, a Wild Wolf appeared before Mo Bai, while the pack was still in the distance.

"Howl!"

The Wild Wolf snarled at Mo Bai, not approaching, and immediately retreated. But Mo Bai pushed off with both legs, and his entire body instantly shot out.

At this moment, the ink box in his mind spun rapidly.

The distance to the Wild Wolf, the angle of the Spear in his hand, the force of the throw, and other data were compiled in his mind, and a result was instantly produced. In his rapid sprint, the Spear in his hand instantly flew out.

"Whoosh!"

With a sharp whistle, as the Wild Wolf leaped, the Spear instantly pierced its waist, pinning it to the ground.

"Howl!"

The Wild Wolf let out a mournful cry, but the next moment, Mo Bai's Dagger plunged into its brain, and the cry ceased abruptly.

"Awoo!"

The Wolf King's icy howl echoed through the forest, followed by continuous wolf howls in response. The mountain forest instantly fell silent.

They were the absolute rulers here!

But at this moment, facing the continuous wolf howls, Mo Bai directly stepped on the Wild Wolf's corpse with one foot, holding the Spear towards the Wolf King, and provoked.

"Come on!"

"Roar!"

The Wolf King, approaching step by step, let out a low growl, its narrow wolf eyes fixed on Mo Bai.

Mo Bai sneered, directly impaling the Spear into the Wild Wolf's corpse, and turned his back.

The moment his back was to the Wolf King, he violently plunged the Dagger into his own heart.

Instantly, blood spurted from his damaged heart, and his vitality flowed away like a torrent.

But the ink box in his mind spun rapidly, extreme rationality suppressing the pain. A bamboo tube containing all the Knockout Powder was forcefully inserted into his heart, then discarded.

The moment the Wolf King rushed over and tore open his chest, Mo Bai used his last strength to spit at the Wolf King.

"Pah!"

Saliva mixed with blood splattered on the Wolf King's face, and its narrow wolf eyes instantly became incredibly cold.

In his soul form, Mo Bai heard one system notification after another, but he ignored them, only watching the Wolf King with slightly rapid breathing.

Watching the Wolf King dig out the heart from his chest, angrily tearing and chewing it!

The Wolf King devoured the heart!

At this moment, Mo Bai smiled.
