30: Chapter 30 The Celestial Master's Office is Established!

No. 44, Locust Tree Alley.

This was an old alley with a history, lined with tall, ancient locust trees.

Locust trees belong to the Yin element. There was a folk saying: "Plant a locust tree before the door, and a hundred ghosts shall walk the night." The Feng Shui of this place was truly hard to describe.

At the end of the alley stood a somewhat dilapidated red western-style building.

The walls were covered with withered Boston ivy, the gates were tightly shut, and the copper rings on them were rusted and mottled.

Even at high noon, a cold, gloomy mist permeated the area around the building; sunlight didn't seem to reach inside.

"This... this is the place..."

The real estate agent stood more than ten meters away from the gate, not daring to step any closer.

"Sir, here are the keys. I won't be going in... I'll wait for you outside."

"Look at how cowardly you are."

Su Yang took the keys, gave him a disdainful look, and then, holding Zhou Mingyue's hand, strode toward the eerie gate.

"Creak—"

As the heavy gate was pushed open.

A musty smell mixed with thick Yin Qi rushed toward them.

The courtyard was overgrown with weeds. In the center was a dried-up well, and beside it lay several pairs of somewhat rotten embroidered shoes.

"Yi ya—"

The moment the two stepped into the courtyard.

A shrill and piercing sound of opera singing suddenly echoed in the empty courtyard!

Immediately after.

On the second-floor balcony.

Several white phantoms flashed by.

The surrounding temperature plummeted instantly, and a layer of white frost formed on the withered grass on the ground.

"Ah! Ghosts!"

Zhou Mingyue screamed in fear, clinging to Su Yang's body.

"Don't be afraid."

Su Yang patted her bottom, a cold smirk curling at the corner of his mouth.

He looked up at the dark window on the second floor, a golden light faintly emerging from his body.

"That was quite pleasant to hear. Why did you stop?"

"Keep going! It’ll serve as entertainment for me!"

"However..."

Su Yang's tone shifted, his gaze becoming incredibly sharp.

"If it doesn't sound good, or if you dare to come out and scare my wife..."

"I'll tear this building down and drag every single one of you out to bask in the sun!"

Boom!

A terrifying pressure belonging to a Golden Core Stage Cultivator instantly enveloped the entire small building!

The opera singing that had been "yi-ya-ing" around came to a screeching halt, like a duck being grabbed by the neck.

The entire courtyard became so silent that one could hear a pin drop.

Those lonely souls and wild ghosts hiding in the shadows.

Were all now shivering and shrinking into corners, not even daring to lift their heads.

Where the hell did this homebuyer come from?

This was clearly the King of Hell coming to inspect the workplace!

"Behaving now?"

Su Yang nodded with satisfaction.

"It seems the original residents of this house are quite hospitable."

"Come on, let's go in and see our new home."

"From now on, this will be our—Paranormal Agency!"

...

"Creak—"

The heavy wooden door was pushed open.

A stale and decaying scent rushed toward them.

This was a typical Republic of China-style western building with a vast interior space.

Dark red wallpaper was pasted on the walls; though it was peeling in places, the luxury of yesteryear was still visible.

However, the inside of the house was a mess at this moment.

Broken furniture and thick cobwebs were everywhere, along with... pairs of peeking eyes hidden in the shadows.

"It's... it's so cold..."

Zhou Mingyue hugged Su Yang's arm tightly, wishing she could shrink into his embrace.

She could feel that since stepping into this house, countless cold gazes had been staring at her, like a frog being watched by a group of venomous snakes.

"It's better if it's cold; saves us from turning on the air conditioning."

Su Yang didn't care at all. He strode to a grandmaster's chair in the center of the hall and gave it a light sweep with his hand.

Whoosh—

A gust of Pure Yang Wind swept past.

The thick layer of dust on the chair was instantly swept away, revealing the original bright mahogany luster.

Su Yang sat down in a commanding manner, crossed his legs, and scanned the surroundings with a playful look.

"Stop hiding. Come out."

"Wasn't it quite lively just now? The one singing opera, and the one swinging on the rafters—all of you come down and meet your new landlord."

After he spoke, the house remained deathly silent.

These ghosts were clearly scared witless by the Golden Core pressure Su Yang had released in the courtyard; they were all playing dead now, none daring to be the first to show themselves.

"Heh, playing hide-and-seek with me?"

Su Yang sneered, his fingers lightly tapping the armrest.

"Qingcheng."

"I am here, Master."

Su Qingcheng's figure slowly emerged, her red clothes like fire, and a playful, cold smile on her exquisite face.

"Since they're unwilling to come out, then you'll have to work a bit and go drag them out."

"No need to bring them here once caught; just eat them as snacks."

"It just so happens I haven't given you an extra meal these past few days."

"As you command."

A red light flashed in Su Qingcheng's eyes as she licked her red lips.

The terrifying Evil Qi of the Red-Clothed Ghost General erupted instantly, sweeping through the entire hall like a physical force!
