439: Chapter 440 Mercury Heavenly Secret Array!

Two massive war halberds shrieked as they tore through the air, smashing down fiercely toward Su Yang's head.

Su Yang stood in front of the towering stone gate, not stepping back even half a pace. He reached his hands upward, steady and firm.

Bang!

The two heavy war halberds were caught firmly by Su Yang's hands. Sparks flew everywhere. The black bluestone slabs on the ground could not withstand the terrifying pressure and instantly shattered into pieces.

Su Yang's legs were rooted to the ground as if they had grown there, his figure remaining motionless.

"Scrap metal."

The muscles in Su Yang's arms bulged violently. He exerted force with both hands, bending them outward.

With two crisp snapping sounds, the incredibly tough bronze war halberds were snapped in two by his bare hands.

Red light flashed wildly in the eyes of the bronze beasts. They opened their metallic maws and bit directly toward Su Yang's throat.

Holding the broken war halberds, Su Yang swung them backhandedly with force, directly piercing the two halberds into the neck joints of the two giant beasts.

With a powerful flick.

Two massive bronze beast heads rolled onto the ground. The gigantic metallic bodies lost control, collapsing with a boom and kicking up a sky full of dust.

Having easily dealt with the gatekeepers, Su Yang raised his right leg and kicked the stone gate heavily.

Rumble!

The towering stone gate shattered instantly. Debris flew everywhere as it burst inward.

Su Yang stepped over the ruins and walked inside. The four women followed closely behind.

Behind the gate was a vast underground hall. Inside the hall, there were no monsters, nor were there any Mummies.

The ground was covered with complex, crisscrossing water channels. A silvery-white liquid flowed within them. The liquid was extremely heavy and emitted a pungent odor.

"Mercury." Bai Li spoke up.

The mercury streams converged in the center of the hall. In the center stood a tall, circular altar.

Twelve white jade pillars stood around the altar. Carved onto the stone pillars were twelve different types of ancient Vicious Beasts. The beast heads opened their wide mouths, continuously spewing mercury beneath the altar.

The mercury served as a power source, driving countless massive bronze gears on the walls of the hall.

The gears interlocked and rotated slowly, emitting a booming mechanical roar.

Qin Xueji carefully avoided the mercury channels on the ground and walked to Su Yang's side.

"Boss, this mechanism city has been running for tens of thousands of years without stopping. It's truly incredible." Qin Xueji looked at the rotating gears on the wall, her face full of shock.

Mary flew in mid-air, looking around.

"Apart from mercury and rusty gears, there's nothing here. I can't even see a treasure chest." Mary said, looking bored.

Chu Ling walked to one of the white jade pillars and tapped it gently with her ice sword.

"A Spirit Gathering Formation is carved inside the stone. The mercury has been imbued with spirituality by the Formation. The owner of this place was proficient in mechanical arts." Chu Ling's eyes were grave.

Su Yang stepped on the clean stone slabs and walked to the front of the circular altar in the center of the hall.

The altar was empty, save for a flat black stone tablet. The surface of the tablet was smooth as a mirror, with no characters carved on it.

Su Yang extended his right hand and pressed it onto the black stone tablet.

A strand of Pure Yang True Qi was injected into it.

The stone tablet absorbed the True Qi, and its surface suddenly lit up with a blinding white light. The white light projected a huge holographic image in mid-air.

In the image was a vast starry sky. Countless stars were slowly rotating.

Deep in the starry sky, a broken, massive interstellar warship was falling. The surface of the warship was covered in traces left by war.

The warship pierced through the atmosphere and smashed fiercely into the ground, triggering an earth-shattering explosion.

The scene shifted.

A group of human Cultivators dressed in ancient attire arrived at the deep crater where the warship had crashed.

The Cultivators dug out the warship's core power furnace. The power furnace was a metallic sphere emitting blue light.

They built this mercury mechanism city underground where the Deep Space Demon Toad resided. They sealed the blue power furnace directly beneath the altar, using the flow of mercury to continuously extract energy from the power furnace to maintain the external gravity Formation.

The image ended there, dissipating into points of light.

"A power furnace from an alien warship." Su Yang withdrew his hand, his eyes flickering slightly.

Jiang Yingxue spoke gently: "No wonder the Mummy Immortals outside were able to survive for tens of thousands of years. It turns out they were absorbing the energy emitted by the warship's power furnace."

Su Yang looked at the altar beneath his feet.

"Since the power furnace is underneath, I'll just smash it open and take it."

Su Yang raised his right fist, just about to take action.

The twelve white jade pillars around the hall suddenly emitted a dazzling red light.

The rotation speed of the bronze gears on the walls instantly increased tenfold, emitting a harsh grinding sound.

The mercury in the ground channels began to flow backward frantically, all converging toward the center of the altar.

Splash.

A large amount of mercury piled up in front of the altar, rising rapidly.

In the blink of an eye, the mercury condensed into a twenty-meter-tall silver giant.

The giant had no facial features, and the surface of its body flowed like water ripples. In its hand, it held a massive long blade condensed from mercury.

A formidable pressure of the Soul Transformation Stage Early Stage emanated from the mercury giant.

"Those who disturb the Star Core shall be erased!"

A dull echo came from within the mercury giant. It swung the mercury long blade, creating a spray of silver water, and slashed directly toward Su Yang.

Before the blade arrived, a heavy sense of oppression had already locked down the space around Su Yang.

Chu Ling stepped forward, her ice-blue skirt fluttering. She quickly formed Seals with her hands.

"Ice Seal!"

The deep blue cold Qi transformed into an ice dragon, crashing directly into the mercury giant.

Crack, crack, crack!

The twenty-meter-tall mercury giant was instantly frozen into a crystal-clear ice sculpture. The long blade stopped in mid-air.

"Well done." Qin Xueji let out a sigh of relief.

However, in less than two seconds.

More mercury surged from the underground channels and injected into the feet of the ice sculpture. The mercury carried extremely high heat.

Bang!

The surface of the ice sculpture was covered in cracks and shattered with a boom. The mercury giant returned to its original state, and the long blade continued to slash down.

"Physical immunity, and it can keep replenishing energy via the Formation." Chu Ling frowned slightly and quickly retreated to dodge.

Mary transformed into black lightning and rushed up, extending sharp blood claws from her ten fingers and slashing fiercely at the mercury giant's chest.

Pfft.

The blood claws tore the mercury giant into pieces directly. Silvery-white droplets scattered all over the ground.

But the droplets that fell on the ground wriggled rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, they converged back together, turning into an intact giant once again.

The mercury giant threw a backhanded punch, hitting Mary on the shoulder.

Mary let out an exclamation and flew backward for dozens of meters.

"So annoying! Can't smash it, can't tear it!" Mary rubbed her shoulder, very angry.

Su Yang stood on the altar, watching the constantly reassembling mercury giant, his eyes devoid of ripples.

"It can't be smashed because the Formation is still running. Just cut off the energy supply."

Su Yang ignored the mercury giant, turned around, and fixed his gaze on the rapidly rotating bronze gears on the hall's walls.

With a stomp of his feet, Su Yang turned into a golden stream of light and rushed directly toward the nearest wall.

He clenched his right fist. Golden Pure Yang True Fire instantly erupted.

"Shatter."

Su Yang smashed his fist fiercely onto the massive bronze gear, which was over ten meters in diameter.

Boom!

The gear could not withstand the violent blow of the Pure Yang iron fist and shattered on the spot into countless pieces of scrap metal.

As the gear shattered, the red light on the twelve white jade pillars immediately dimmed by a fraction. The mercury giant's movements also paused for a moment.

"Smash all the scrap metal here."

Su Yang's figure moved like lightning, speeding along the walls of the hall.

Fist after fist, he continuously bombarded the mechanism cores on the wall.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The massive mechanical roaring sound, accompanied by the sound of shattering gears, resounded throughout the entire underground hall. Sparks flew everywhere.
