37: Chapter 37 The Supernatural Events at the Golden Tripod Building!
[Emergency Bounty: The supernatural incident at the Jinding Building, an unfinished building in the center of Jiangzhou City, has escalated! Five groups of explorers have already lost contact!]
[Bounty Amount: 8 million! Plus a retail shop in the city center!]
[Note: Extremely dangerous! A Red-Clothed Vicious Ghost is suspected to be lurking there! Do not disturb unless you are an expert!]
"8 million? And a retail shop?"
Su Yang's Adam's apple bobbed.
The Agency had just opened, and he was short on both money and space. This retail shop was exactly what he needed!
Besides, it was only a suspected Red-Clothed Vicious Ghost. For a Cultivator with a Golden Core like him, wasn't that just a piece of cake?
This temptation... was indeed slightly greater than a female celebrity's bed.
He turned around and gently pushed Yang Mi away.
"I'd love to stay and keep a beauty company, but unfortunately... business is too busy."
"Don't worry, that evil god has been completely annihilated by me, leaving not even a scrap behind. It will absolutely never come back."
"And besides..."
Su Yang pulled a yellow talisman folded into a triangle from his pocket and tucked it into the deep cleavage of Yang Mi.
"This is a protective talisman I drew. Keep it on you, and it will protect you from all evil."
"If anything happens, call me anytime."
"Remember, my service motto is: at your beck and call, guaranteed satisfaction."
After saying this, Su Yang didn't linger. He grabbed the bewildered Zhou Mingyue and strode out of the room.
Leaving only Yang Mi standing in the sunlight, clutching the yellow talisman that still held his body heat, her eyes gazing longingly at the doorway.
"Su Yang... I will definitely make you mine!"
...
Once outside the villa.
Zhou Mingyue finally snapped back to reality, looking at Su Yang with an expression of adoration.
"Boss, you're amazing! You could even reject a big star like Yang Mi?"
"If it were any other man, his legs would probably have given out, right?"
"Of course. Is your boss the kind of person who forgets righteousness when seeing beauty?"
Su Yang sat in his beat-up Jetta, lit a cigarette, and looked profound.
"I am a Celestial Master with principles."
"Tch, I think you're just playing hard to get," Zhou Mingyue muttered softly.
Su Yang ignored her snark, started the car, and looked toward the city skyline in the distance.
There, a towering, pitch-black building was shrouded in thick, dark clouds.
Jinding Building.
The most famous unfinished building in Jiangzhou City, and also a notorious Holy Land for suicides.
"Let's go, Mingyue."
"Tonight, we're going to pull off something big!"
...
As the night deepened, the bustling city center of Jiangzhou City was filled with flashing neon lights and heavy traffic.
But amidst this clamor, one area stood out as completely out of place.
It was a massive construction site surrounded by metal hoardings, inside of which stood an unfinished skyscraper.
The main structure of the building had been topped out, standing over sixty stories high.
However, only half of the glass curtain wall on the exterior had been installed, revealing the dark, hollow concrete skeleton inside.
It looked like a giant skeleton stripped of its flesh, coldly gazing down at the masses below in the night.
This was Jinding Building.
A famous unfinished building in Jiangzhou City.
It was also a terrifying Forbidden Ground that, according to rumors, you could never leave once you entered.
"Screech—"
The beat-up Jetta stopped at a gap in the construction site's hoarding.
Su Yang turned off the engine, got out of the car, and looked up at the building shrouded in heavy gloom, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Good grief, this Evil Qi is almost solid."
In his Heavenly Eye Vision, the entire building wasn't black, but appeared in an eerie dark red.
That was the color woven from countless grievances and blood energy.
At the top of the building, a massive black cloud hovered, refusing to disperse, like a giant lid that locked all the Yin Qi tightly inside, allowing only entry and no exit.
"Bo... Boss, this place looks... so sinister..."
Zhou Mingyue got out of the car holding her live-streaming equipment and shivered the moment her feet touched the ground.
Even though it was a hot day outside, the area around the hoarding was as cold as if the air conditioning had been turned on.
The wild grass on the ground was withered and yellow, as if its vitality had been sucked dry by something.
"It's supposed to be sinister."
Su Yang lit a cigarette and pointed toward the building.
"Look at the shape of this building, wide at the bottom and narrow at the top. Doesn't it look like a tombstone?"
"And look at the surrounding terrain, high on all sides and low in the middle. It's a classic Yin-gathering basin."
"Normally, building a park or a temple here to suppress it would be fine, but instead, they built a commercial and residential building."
"This isn't for living people! This is clearly a corpse-raising ground for ghosts!"
"Ah? Corpse... corpse-raising?"
Zhou Mingyue turned pale with fright, "You mean... someone built it like this on purpose?"
"Who knows? Maybe the developer was unscrupulous, or maybe... someone wanted to use this place to raise something."
Su Yang sneered and crushed the cigarette butt.
"Let's go. Since we're here, no matter what it's raising, it's going to spit it all out with interest tonight!"
"Start the stream! Let your fans see the world!"
"Oh... okay!"
Zhou Mingyue took a deep breath and skillfully turned on the live-streaming equipment.
[Horror Livestream: Exploring Jinding Building, Jiangzhou's number one haunted house! Master Su will take you for a ride!]
As soon as the stream started, thanks to the previous hype, over 200,000 people flooded into the livestream room instantly.
[First! Wife, I'm here!]
[Holy crap! Jinding Building? Streamer, are you not afraid of death? I heard three backpackers died inside just last week!]
[What are you afraid of? Don't you see who's standing next to her? That's Master Su! The tough guy who can even rip apart a Ghost General with his bare hands!]
[Master Su is so handsome! Requesting a close-up of Master Su!]
[We're in for a show tonight! This place is notoriously sinister; they say you can hear dozens of people crying together in the middle of the night!]
Looking at the messages scrolling frantically in the chat, the fear in Zhou Mingyue's heart dissipated a little.
"Family, tonight we are exploring the legendary Jinding Building..."
She had just finished her opening remarks.
Suddenly.
"Shh—"
Su Yang, who was walking in front, suddenly stopped and held a finger to his lips.
"What's wrong?"
Zhou Mingyue asked nervously.
"Someone's here."
Su Yang narrowed his eyes and looked toward the dark, hollow entrance on the first floor of the building.
In the pitch-black shadows, a few beams of light could be seen flickering.
"It seems we aren't the only ones interested in this 8 million."
A playful smile tugged at the corners of Su Yang's mouth.
"Let's go, let's go say hello to our colleagues."
The two crossed the overgrown construction site and walked into the first-floor lobby of the building.
It was a massive, open-plan space that should have been a luxurious shopping mall lobby, but now it was piled with rusty scaffolding and rotten cement bags, the floor covered in stagnant water and trash.
In the center of the empty lobby stood three people.
Two men and one woman.
They were all wearing matching black windbreakers, carrying tactical backpacks, and holding what looked like high-tech equipment, scanning the area.
"Beep, beep, beep—"
The instrument in the hands of one of the young men wearing glasses suddenly started beeping.
"Captain! The magnetic field is fluctuating violently! The Yin Qi reading here is off the charts! It's at least at the level of a Vicious Ghost!"
"Calm down, A Wen."
The leader was a burly, bald man, carrying a modified engineer's shovel in his hand. His face was covered with flesh, and he looked fierce and malicious.
"So what if it's a Vicious Ghost? Have we not killed enough Vicious Ghosts in our Demon Hunting Squad?"
"The bounty this time is 8 million! Once we finish this job, we can retire!"
The woman next to him, wearing a ponytail and a tight-fitting outfit, was coldly wiping the two daggers in her hands. She didn't speak, but her eyes were exceptionally sharp.
"Yo, quite professional, aren't you."
Su Yang walked out with Zhou Mingyue, his voice echoing in the lobby.
"Who's there?!"
The three reacted extremely quickly, turning around instantly, their weapons pointed straight at Su Yang.
When they saw that the newcomers were just a handsome young man and a streamer holding a selfie stick, the bald man frowned, and the vigilance in his eyes instantly turned into disdain.
