107: Wind and Fire Lingzhi

"What are you doing? So fierce, hmph, I don't like you anymore!" Linlin's small fists rained down on Wei He's shoulders like a storm, but they had no power at all. Instead, Wei He looked quite pleased. After hitting him for a while, she stomped away angrily, while Wei He watched her run off with a smile on his face.

Seeing that nothing was happening here, Wei He prepared to return to his temporary residence. Just as he stepped out of the square, he saw a group of magicians disguised as commoners. He couldn't help but ask curiously, "What are you all doing here? Planning to rescue someone? Couldn't you have just said so directly at yesterday's meeting?"

"Lord, you misunderstand. We are here under General Neme's orders to capture Charlie. Carlos is about to be executed, and Charlie is sure to come to rescue him. Then we can catch them all in one fell swoop, and the demon soldiers on the front lines will collapse without a fight!" said a lean and wiry magician, speaking with great enthusiasm.

"Oh, keep a close watch then, don't let them get him away!" Wei He said with a drooping mouth, speaking nonchalantly. In his heart, he mocked these people for having no brains—only a fool would come to rescue him.

"Yes, Lord, we will definitely capture that traitor Charlie!" many magicians replied softly.

Wei He didn't linger any longer. Whether they could catch Charlie or not wasn't important. What mattered was that as long as the war continued, he could benefit from it. Once the demon race was wiped out, Emperor Alexander the Great would surely turn his spear toward him.

Otherwise, just these few demon soldiers wouldn't be enough for the Radiation Engineers to kill.

On his way back, Wei He walked to the door of that noodle shop again. Coincidentally, he was hungry, so he went in and ordered a bowl of noodles. While happily eating, he saw those Leopard-Headed Beastmen again.

They were still engaged in thievery, but this time Wei He didn't plan to meddle in such trivial matters because they were following behind an acquaintance, still using their clumsy techniques, taking forever to pull something out of someone's pocket.

"What are you doing?" Linlin's eyes widened, a fierce smile tugging at the corners of her mouth as she stared intently at the Leopard-Headed Beastman in front of her. His hand was still in her purse, not yet withdrawn.

"Hehe, I was just testing how safe your purse is. It seems quite secure now, no need to thank me! Hehe!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman said, turning to flee.

"Don't you dare run, stop right there, come with me to see the authorities!" Linlin shouted sternly.

Just as Linlin was about to give chase, the Leopard-Headed Beastman suddenly stopped, and the other Leopard-Headed Beastmen gathered around. Wei He shook his head and muttered, "So unoriginal. After all this time, these guys haven't improved their skills, and their creativity is just as poor. This isn't stealing; it's outright robbery!"

"Hehehe, little girl, seeing the authorities is out of the question. Hand over your valuables quickly, or else we'll have to take something else, hahaha!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman said, his eyes roaming over Linlin's body.

"You bunch of trash, I bet you're not even cultivators, are you? Want to experience the feeling of flying?" Linlin said with a cheerful smile, though her eyes were full of anger despite the upward curve of her lips.

"The feeling of flying? How do you want me to fly? It's been a while since I last flew—last time was at the Red-Light District, hahaha!" said one of the Leopard-Headed Beastmen with a scar on his face, grinning broadly.

"Hmph! Come with me!" Linlin grabbed the Leopard-Headed Beastman by the shoulder, lightly tapped her toes, and soared into the air, pulling the beastman up with her.

"Ah! Help! It's so high! I was wrong, I'll never do it again, please, Lady Warrior, let me down! I'll even go see the authorities with you!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman cried out, a warm liquid trickling from his crotch and dripping onto the street. The other Leopard-Headed Beastmen, seeing this, scattered in all directions, running away.

"Hmph! Trying to run? Too late. I already gave you a chance earlier, and now you have none!" Linlin pointed casually, and a white beam of light shot from her finger, hitting one of the Leopard-Headed Beastmen fleeing down the street. A fist-sized hole appeared from his chest to his back, and he immediately fell to the ground, blood pooling around him—dead beyond doubt.

"Ah! Spare me, Lady Warrior! I don't want to die! I'll never do it again, I'll serve you like a beast of burden, I beg you!" the airborne Leopard-Headed Beastman, seeing this, pleaded frantically with Linlin in terror.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!" With each scream, another Leopard-Headed Beastman fell. One by one, the fleeing beastmen were dealt with by Linlin.

"Alright, they're all dead. Now it's your turn. Hmm? How do you want to die?" Linlin said with interest, looking at the Leopard-Headed Beastman in the air.

"Yes, yes, yes, whatever you say, just don't kill me, I beg you!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman, seeing the situation, was already scared out of his wits, howling desperately, his eyes filled with fear and pleading.

"Oh, you'll do whatever I say, right? I'm still missing a mount. Hmm?" Linlin's voice reached the Leopard-Headed Beastman's ears. His long snout trembled for a long time, but he couldn't utter a single word.

"Not willing, huh? Then down you go!" Linlin let go of the Leopard-Headed Beastman, and he began to free-fall.

"Oh, help! I agree! I agree!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman, terrified during the fall, screamed desperately.

Linlin, with an incredibly fast movement, swiftly flew down and caught him just before he hit the ground. A slight smile touched her lips as she said, "Well, you agreed. From now on, you're my mount. Starting today, you can never stand up again—get down on the ground, you hear me!"

"I hear you, I hear you, thank you, Lady Warrior! Thank you, Lady Warrior!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman, placed on the ground by Linlin, lay prostrate, weeping with gratitude.

"What are you saying? Don't call me Lady Warrior, call me Master, you hear me, Little Kitty!" Linlin's fingers were long and slender as she slapped the Leopard-Headed Beastman across the face.

"Yes, Master, Little Kitty understands!" the Leopard-Headed Beastman replied, wagging his tail obsequiously.

"You're too harsh. They were just stealing; how could you kill them?" Wei He said from inside the noodle shop, watching Linlin at the door.

"You're one to talk, sitting here without helping me. Besides, you've killed far more people than I have. I kill with my hands, but you officials just wag your tongues, and thousands of heads roll! Hmph!" Linlin said with a giggle, riding on the Leopard-Headed Beastman as he slowly carried her into the noodle shop.

"Wow, this isn't punishing him; it's rewarding him!" Wei He said slowly.

"Hmm? What are you talking about? If this Little Kitty doesn't behave, it won't be just punishment—I'll make him die horribly!" Linlin said, slapping the Leopard-Headed Beastman across the face again.

"Hey, how did you suddenly become so powerful? I remember before you left, you were only an Intermediate Magician. Did you get some powerful cultivation method?" Wei He asked curiously, thinking if there was a good way, he'd like to improve himself too.

"Not really! It was Blant—the one who was with me in your room that day—he gave me a Wind-Fire Ganoderma. That thing really lives up to being a rare treasure. After I ate it, my power increased greatly, and in no time, I broke through and became a High-level Magician!" Linlin said, her eyebrows raised high, her mouth curling up uncontrollably, speaking with animated excitement.
