169: Chapter 169 Subduing the Leopard-Headed Guard
"Of course, I was on my way to deliver the antidote to you. Running into you here is truly wonderful! Hahahaha!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards said with a laugh, then turned and ran towards the rear, with the entire group of Leopard-Headed Guards following him.
"Ah, what's happening? What's going on?"
"Ah! An earthquake! An earthquake!"
"Save me, I don't want to die!"
...
As they ran backward, a massive pit suddenly appeared on the street's surface. They all fell into it, and after they dropped in, the ground returned to its flat, intact state. Even the paving stones above returned to their original positions, as if a huge pit had never split open.
"Commander, please!" Huang Yichen pointed to a small hole on the ground, looking at Wei He.
Without a word, Wei He jumped right in. Huang Yichen followed closely behind, leaping into the hole.
"Where is this place? It's so dark. Are we underground?" A timid Leopard-Headed Guard, looking at the pitch-black surroundings, couldn't help but sob as he spoke.
"Yes, you are underground!" As these words rang out, a light shone from a small hole nearby. Immediately after, Wei He walked in holding a magic orb, and the light was emanating from that orb.
"Ah, Lord, we were just going back to get the antidote for you! Look, why have you brought us here? Let us out quickly! This is all a misunderstanding!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards looked around the square-shaped cavern, a trace of fear appearing on his face. Especially after seeing Wei He and Huang Yichen enter through the small hole, which then vanished, replaced by a solid Earth Wall blocking their path. Now, their entire group was trapped in this square cavern. The walls of the cavern were extremely hard, impossible for low-level Ability Users like them to break.
"Stop being stubborn. Hand over the antidote quickly, or you'll stay here forever. Maybe in a few hundred years, or even a few thousand, someone might discover your skeletons!" Wei He looked at these Leopard-Headed Beastmen with interest, saying with a chuckle.
"Boss, I don't want to die! Boss, why don't we just give them the antidote!" The previously timid Leopard-Headed Beastman was now so scared his legs gave way. Sitting on the ground, he pleaded with the leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards.
"You shut up! Hmph!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards glared at the timid Leopard-Headed Beastman, snorting coldly as he shouted.
"I don't have that much time to wait. After all, you know best how potent your poison is. If they die, you'll all be buried with them!" Wei He coldly eyed the group of Leopard-Headed Beastmen, his icy tone suggesting he might kill them the next second.
"Fine, the antidote, I'll give it to you. But you must not kill us!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards said to Wei He with a helpless expression.
"Don't worry. As long as you give me the antidote, I keep my word!" Wei He nodded, speaking with a serious expression.
"Alright, I'll trust you this once. The antidote is here, take it!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards took out an exquisite green vial from his bosom and handed it to Wei He.
"Hmm, I'll test if it's effective first. You all stay here. If you dare deceive me, you'll remain here forever!" Wei He took the antidote. A small circular hole appeared above Wei He's head, sunlight shining through onto him. Huang Yichen grabbed Wei He and flew directly out of the hole. After Wei He exited, the hole completely vanished.
"Boss, do you think he'll keep his promise? He won't leave us here forever, will he?" A Leopard-Headed Beastman, holding his golden saber, slashed at the surrounding Earth Walls, but not even a scratch was left. These walls were incredibly hard.
"Sigh, there's no other choice now. We can only choose to believe him. Otherwise, can you break these walls and get us out?" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards looked disdainfully at the Leopard-Headed Beastman, saying coldly.
With the antidote in hand and Huang Yichen's assistance, Wei He quickly arrived at Blant's residence. Blant was anxiously pacing around Tang Xiaowei and Neme, his brow furrowed, sweat continuously dripping down his face.
"Commander, you're back!" Seeing Wei He descend from the sky into the courtyard, Blant hurried forward to greet him.
"Hmm, how are they? This is the antidote, give it to them quickly!" Wei He handed the small green vial to Blant.
Blant took the antidote and hurried to Neme's side. Carefully, he dripped the antidote into her mouth. Her armor was stained with black blood, which she had vomited after being poisoned.
Seeing Neme's complexion gradually recover, Blant breathed a sigh of relief and quickly dripped the antidote into Tang Xiaowei's mouth.
Seeing Neme and Tang Xiaowei gradually regain consciousness, Wei He could finally relax. He was about to walk out when a weak voice came from behind.
"Wei He, wait. How did you find the antidote?" Neme forced herself to sit up from the bed.
"Hmph, it was those Leopard-Headed Beastmen who poisoned you. I won't let them off easily! You both rest well. Oh, right, Blant, write a letter to Vesemir!" Wei He's eyes became resolute. He knew he had to resolve these issues as soon as possible.
"Yes, alright. I'll do whatever you say, Commander!" Blant nodded, looking at Wei He with great respect.
After giving these instructions, Wei He left Blant's residence with Huang Yichen.
Trapped in the cavern and completely isolated from the outside world, the Leopard-Headed Beastmen had nearly exhausted the oxygen. Each lay on the ground, faces pale, bodies weak. The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards cried out in despair, "Are we really going to die here today?"
Just as the leader of the Leopard-Headed Beastmen closed his eyes in despair, a ray of sunlight fell on his eyelids. He opened his eyes in surprise to see Wei He and Huang Yichen jump into the cavern.
"Hahahaha, you truly kept your promise, Lord! I knew you wouldn't break your word!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards shouted excitedly.
"Don't celebrate too soon. While the death penalty may be waived, living punishment is unavoidable. You can no longer serve in the Magical Beast Empire. You must leave here and come with me to the Magic Empire for punishment. Otherwise, you still cannot leave this place. Understood?" Wei He coldly looked at the Leopard-Headed Beastmen, speaking slowly and deliberately.
"Fine, as long as you let us go, we'll agree to anything!" The leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards looked at everyone and sighed helplessly.
"Good, then you must cripple your own cultivation. Only then can you return to the surface." Wei He's tone became utterly indifferent. He looked upward at the sunlight streaming through the hole, tapping his foot as he waited slowly.
"Th-this... this won't do, Boss!"
"Boss, we worked so hard to reach this level of cultivation. How can we cripple it ourselves?"
"Boss, we can't cripple our cultivation!"
...
Everyone tried to dissuade the leader of the Leopard-Headed Guards. Wei He simply stared at the sunlight above and said leisurely, "Hurry up and decide. Time is running out, and my patience is limited."
