101: Chapter 101 Core Fusion
After returning to the Farmhouse, Chen Mo stayed in the Basement for three days.
The core of the Origin City sat on the workbench, the size of a fist, with countless warm memories floating inside.
He stared at it for a long time, his Pupil of the Sequence operating at full capacity, analyzing its structure.
Those lines of rules extended from the core, spreading in all directions, connecting the memories of the entire city.
Each line represented a person's life—birth, growing up, working, and growing old.
Some lines were short, lasting only a few years; others were long, spanning half a century.
But they all had one thing in common: they were all interrupted on the day the Ghost Realm descended.
Chen Mo picked up the core and held it in his palm.
Those lines surged along his arm into his body, carrying the memories of those people.
He saw a man kissing his bride at a wedding, a woman holding a newborn child, and an old man feeding pigeons in the park.
Those images were warm and fleeting, like bubbles under the sun.
He closed his eyes.
Those memories intertwined with his own—the hallway of the Orphanage, Teacher Li's smile, the back of that woman.
He could not distinguish which were his and which belonged to others.
But he did not resist; he simply let them flow in and out.
The Serialization progress rose to 7%.
He did not stop.
The next day, he began to attempt Fusion with the core.
Not to destroy, but to fuse.
To make those memories a part of himself, and to let the existence of those people continue.
Those golden lines surged from the core and intertwined with the lines inside his body.
Those memories flooded into his consciousness—a child learning to ride a bicycle, falling, crying, then getting back up.
A girl receiving her certificate at graduation, smiling until her eyes narrowed into slits.
A man holding his wife's hand on a hospital bed, saying, "Don't cry, I'm fine."
Those scenes played in his mind like a movie.
The Serialization progress rose to 10%.
He felt his body changing—those golden lines were no longer just lines; they had become something more delicate, like skin, like blood, like breath.
He looked down at his hands; those lines flowed beneath his skin, but they were more natural than before, as if they had grown there all along.
On the third day, the Fusion was complete.
The core had disappeared, and those memories had vanished too.
But Chen Mo knew they hadn't disappeared—they were inside him, flowing along with those golden lines.
【Fusion Complete】 【Ghost Realm Foundation weakened: 50%】 【Serialization progress: 12%】
He stood up.
The Serialization progress was 12%, still very low, but he could feel those memories flowing within him like a warm river.
Lin Wei walked in and looked at him.
"You have changed."
Chen Mo did not speak.
He walked to the window and looked at the sky in the distance.
That eye was still there, but it was much smaller than before.
The will of the ghost realm was weakening.
One more time, and it would be over.
He turned around.
"Contact everyone. Three days from now, one last time."
Lin Wei looked at him.
"Are you sure?"
Chen Mo nodded.
He walked out of the Basement and stood in the yard.
The sunlight shone on his face, feeling warm.
Those memories flowed within him, bringing a wave of warmth.
Three days later, those people came again.
Iron Bear, Eagle Eye, Shadow, Knight, Ranger, Hunter.
There were even more people he didn't recognize, who had arrived from various regions and were standing on the road outside the Farmhouse, waiting for him.
Chen Mo walked out of the yard and stood before them.
"Today, one last time."
He said, "After you go in, do not look back. Keep walking forward."
He turned and walked toward the pickup truck.
Those people behind him followed.
The convoy set off in a grand procession, driving toward the Source of the Sequence.
This time, there would be no looking back.
