95: Chapter 95 S-Rank Clue
The pickup truck had been driving on the gray road for three days.
Chen Mo was in no rush. As he drove, he organized the intelligence. Reports from the Europa Zone, observations from North America, news from South America—it was all gathered in his hands. Piece by piece, the intelligence formed a vague outline.
The three conditions for S-Rank promotion.
First, control at least 50% of the sequence rules.
Second, obtain "World Recognition"—recognition from humans or the Ghost Realm.
Third, defeat the current Agent of the will of the ghost realm.
Chen Mo stared at that line, reading it three times over. 50% rule control. He could currently create, modify, and delete temporary rules, but that was only local manipulation. To control 50% of the rules, one needed to understand the underlying code of the entire Ghost Realm.
This would take time.
But the second condition—World Recognition. Recognition from humans or the Ghost Realm. He probably already had human recognition. The people coming from various zones, those delivering supplies and intelligence—they recognized him.
What about Ghost Realm recognition?
He remembered what the will projection of the strange world had said before it disintegrated: "Perhaps you are right. Perhaps that is not evolution, but death." Did that count as recognition? Maybe, maybe not.
The third condition, defeat the Agent.
The Agent. The Clone of the will of the ghost realm in the real world. Absolute suppression below S-Rank. Chen Mo tightened his grip on the steering wheel and stepped on the gas.
On the evening of the fourth day, he arrived at the end of Highway 17. Hawk Eye's people were waiting for him: three off-road vehicles and over a dozen fully armed Chosen Ones. The leader was a woman with short hair and a scar on her face.
"Chen Mo?" she asked.
Chen Mo nodded.
"Hawk Eye told me to pass this on to you: the last time the Agent appeared was in the Alps. The Knights are watching it."
Chen Mo took the map she handed him. Marked on it was the Agent's movement route—starting from the Alps, passing through several major cities in the Europa Zone, and then disappearing underground.
"How often does it appear?"
"It's uncertain," the woman said. "Sometimes a week, sometimes a month. But every time it appears, it takes a group of people away."
"Takes them away?"
"Yes. Not killing them, just taking them away. Those who are taken away never appear again."
Chen Mo was silent for a few seconds. Taking them away. Not killing. What was the Agent collecting?
He put the map away. "Thanks."
The woman nodded. "Hawk Eye said, if you need anything, just ask."
Chen Mo thought for a moment. "I need its behavioral patterns. When it appears, when it disappears, what route it takes. The more detailed, the better."
The woman noted it down. "You'll have it within three days."
She turned and got into her vehicle, and the convoy disappeared into the night.
Chen Mo stood by the roadside, watching the taillights fade away. Lin Wei stepped down from the passenger seat and stood beside him.
"Are you planning to go to the Europa Zone?"
Chen Mo nodded.
"When?"
"As soon as the intelligence arrives."
Lin Wei looked at him. "Are you sure you want to fight the Agent? That is the strongest existence below S-Rank."
Chen Mo didn't speak. He turned and walked back to the pickup truck. He sat in the driver's seat and closed his eyes.
Absolute suppression below S-Rank. But that applied to others. He was not others. He was Chen Mo. The Sequence Controller. The Dominator of rules. He had killed an A-Rank Ghost Shadow, repelled an A-Rank assassin, and spoken face-to-face with the will of the ghost realm. The Agent would be no harder than those.
Three days later, the intelligence arrived. Hawk Eye's people delivered a detailed report: the Agent's behavioral patterns, appearance times, movement routes, and even a few blurry photos.
In the photos was a figure, very tall, at least three meters. It was wearing a black robe, and its face was unclear. Floating around it were countless golden threads, and those threads connected to everything around it—buildings, vehicles, even the air.
Chen Mo stared at the photo. His Pupil of the Sequence activated automatically, and the flow of those threads was clearly visible—it was exactly the same as the will projection of the strange world.
The Agent. A Clone of the will of the ghost realm.
He put the photo away and started the engine. The pickup truck drove toward the Europa Zone.
Lin Wei was in the passenger seat. "Do you know where it is?"
Chen Mo nodded. In the background of the photo, there was a mountain. The Alps, a specific peak. The Knights were waiting there.
Chen Mo stepped on the gas. The pickup truck accelerated forward.
Eight hours later, they arrived at the border of the Europa Zone. An invisible wall stood in the middle of the road, with rule lines flowing on it. That was the zone boundary; every zone had one.
Chen Mo pushed the door open and stepped out. He raised his hand, and those golden threads surged from his palm, touching the wall.
【Zone boundary detected】
【Current zone: East Asia Zone → Europa Zone】
【Passage permit required】
【Apply?】
Chen Mo clicked "Yes."
A few seconds later, the wall cracked open. A man wearing Knight armor stood on the other side, blond-haired and blue-eyed, very tall.
"Chen Mo?" he asked.
Chen Mo nodded.
The Knight extended his hand. "Welcome to the Europa Zone."
Chen Mo shook it. The Knight's hand was strong, but there was no probing, just a pure welcome.
"Where is the Agent?"
The Knight turned and pointed to the snow-capped mountain in the distance. "In the mountain. We've been watching it for three days, and it hasn't come out."
Chen Mo looked at the mountain. It was very tall, the summit covered in white snow, and below the mountainside was all black rock. In his Time Perception, there was a point deep inside the mountain—large, very bright, like a burning flame.
The Agent.
Chen Mo withdrew his gaze. "Lead the way."
The Knight nodded. He turned and walked toward his vehicle. Chen Mo returned to the pickup truck and followed behind.
The convoy drove toward the snow-capped mountain.
