35: Chapter 35 Resource Trading

The day after the summit, Chen Mo did not leave the Trading Post.

He found a spot in a corner of the supermarket to sit down and observe the people coming and going.

Iron Bear's people were moving supplies, loading large and small boxes onto the vehicles.

Eagle Eye sat on the second-floor corridor, looking down at the entire parking lot from above, with that long package always by his side.

Shadow had disappeared, but Chen Mo could sense her presence nearby, hidden in the shadows.

They were all experts.

And they were all very dangerous.

Lin Wei went to buy food, and Chen Mo sat alone, repeatedly studying the b-grade stabilizer recipe in his hand.

【b-grade stabilizer Recipe】

【Required Materials: c-grade ghost shadow blood ×1, Time Fragment ×3, stabilizing matrix ×5】

【Refining Conditions: Apothecary Rank E or above, refining success rate 60%】

c-grade ghost shadow blood.

Did he have any now?

Yes.

There was still some residue left in Zhang Weiguo's heart, enough for one use.

Time Fragment.

He didn't know what it was, but Old Zhou should know.

stabilizing matrix.

The Trading Post should have it for sale.

Chen Mo put away the recipe, stood up, and walked toward the checkout counter.

Old Zhou was checking out a customer; seeing him approach, he nodded.

Once the customer left, Chen Mo spoke.

"Do you have Time Fragments?"

Old Zhou paused for a moment.

"What do you want those for?"

"Refining medicine."

Old Zhou was silent for a few seconds, then took out a small box from under the counter and opened it.

Inside were three fragments the size of fingernails, transparent, like solidified crystal.

"Time Fragments, dropped from Time-type Ghost Shadows," Old Zhou said. "They're rare and very expensive."

"How much?"

"One for ten f-grade fragments," Old Zhou said. "Or equivalent Materials."

Chen Mo did a quick calculation.

He currently had 220 f-grade fragments; exchanging for three Time Fragments would cost 30, leaving 190.

That was enough.

"I'll take them."

He placed 30 fragments on the counter and took the three Time Fragments.

They were small and light, but holding them in his palm, he could feel a strange fluctuation, as if something alive was breathing.

【Time Fragment ×3】

【Can be used to refine Time-type potions or items】

Chen Mo put them in his pocket.

"What about the stabilizing matrix?"

"That's cheap." Old Zhou took a bottle from another cabinet, containing a pale blue liquid.

"One f-grade fragment for five portions. How many do you want?"

"Five portions."

Another fragment.

Chen Mo packed his things and prepared to leave.

"Wait," Old Zhou called out to him. "Are you really going to refine it yourself?"

Chen Mo nodded.

"The success rate is only 60%," Old Zhou said. "If you fail, the Materials will be wasted."

Chen Mo didn't say anything.

He knew.

But he had to try.

Because he couldn't rely on Old Zhou forever.

He needed to know how to do it himself.

Chen Mo walked out of the supermarket and found a quiet place—a small warehouse behind the Trading Post, filled with some clutter and empty of people.

He closed the door and laid the items out on the ground.

c-grade ghost shadow blood, a small bottle, dark red with golden specks of light floating inside.

Time Fragments, three pieces.

stabilizing matrix, five portions.

And the "tear of the ghost shadow" he got from the Crying Face Driver; there was a little left, maybe it would be useful.

Chen Mo took a deep breath and began refining the medicine.

Step one: mix the stabilizing matrix and the Ghost Shadow blood.

The liquid was poured into a glass container; the dark red and pale blue mixed together, slowly turning purple.

The golden specks of light swam in the purple liquid, as if looking for an exit.

Step two: add the Time Fragments.

Chen Mo picked up a fragment, crushed it, and sprinkled it into the container.

The fragment melted as soon as it touched the liquid, turning into countless transparent threads that intertwined with the golden specks of light.

The color of the liquid began to change, from purple to deep blue, and from deep blue to black.

Chen Mo stared at it.

Pupil of the Sequence was operating at full power; in his golden vision, the flow of the components was clearly visible.

The stabilizing matrix was supporting the structure, the blood was providing energy, and the Time Fragments were accelerating the reaction.

Everything was normal.

Step three: wait.

It required a ten-minute wait for all components to fully achieve Fusion.

Chen Mo watched the liquid in the container, watching the threads contract bit by bit, finally condensing into a single whole.

At the nine-minute mark, the liquid suddenly began to boil.

It wasn't a heat-induced boil, but rather... a fluctuation generated by the internal reaction.

The threads were twisting frantically, as if trying to break free.

Chen Mo's heart skipped a beat.

A failure?

No, it could still be saved.

He picked up that drop of "tear of the ghost shadow" and dripped one drop in.

As soon as the golden tear touched the liquid, the threads immediately calmed down, slowly contracting, and finally...

The liquid solidified.

It turned into a small transparent crystal with a few golden threads floating inside.

【b-grade stabilizer · Refining Successful】

【Purity: 95%】

Chen Mo picked up the crystal and held it up to the light.

Beautiful.

He put the crystal away and tucked it into his pocket.

Just then, he felt something.

A sensation of being watched.

It was very strong, very dangerous.

Chen Mo instantly activated Time Perception.

Within a thirty-meter range, everything was under his control...

Outside the warehouse, two hundred meters away, there was a point.

That point was aiming at him.

A sniper rifle.

Eagle Eye.

Chen Mo activated Infiltrator and vanished from his spot.

Seven seconds later, he appeared by the window on the other side of the warehouse.

The aiming point was still there, but it had lost its target.

Through the window, Chen Mo looked toward Eagle Eye's position on the second-floor corridor; the thin man was holding a sniper rifle, searching everywhere for his figure.

He couldn't find him.

Because he was currently invisible.

Chen Mo did not counterattack.

He just watched Eagle Eye, watching as a look of confusion slowly appeared on that sharp face.

Seven seconds later, the invisibility ended.

Chen Mo stood where he was, unmoving.

Eagle Eye rediscovered him.

But this time, Eagle Eye did not aim.

He just stared at Chen Mo for a long time.

Then he put away his sniper rifle and turned to leave the corridor.

Chen Mo watched the direction in which he disappeared.

A test.

Eagle Eye was testing him.

He wanted to know the limits of his abilities and his reaction speed.

Now he knew.

Prediction, invisibility, and that eerie way of disappearing.

It would be enough for him to ponder over for a while.

Chen Mo turned and walked out of the warehouse.

Outside, the sunlight was just right.

He took a deep breath and walked toward the supermarket.

Lin Wei was waiting for him at the door, carrying a bag of food.

"That sniper just now..." she said in a low voice.

"I know," Chen Mo said. "It's fine."

Lin Wei glanced at him but didn't press further.

The two walked into the supermarket and sat down in a corner.

Chen Mo took out the b-grade stabilizer and handed it to Lin Wei.

"What is this?"

"A stabilizer," Chen Mo said. "b-grade, it can eliminate the side effects of potions."

Lin Wei was stunned for a moment.

"For me?"

Chen Mo nodded.

"Why?"

"Because you're following me," Chen Mo said. "You might die."

He paused.

"This can help you live a bit longer."

Lin Wei looked at the crystal, at the floating golden threads inside.

Then she smiled.

"Thank you."

She put the crystal away, keeping it close.

The two continued to eat.

Outside the window, the sky gradually darkened.

Ghost Night was coming again.
