120: Whether it's a human or a ghost, one look will tell!

The sea breeze stopped abruptly.

On the makeshift pier made of scrap iron at the edge of the Trash Mountain, the air solidified to a suffocating degree.

Dozens of Sea Monkeys, which had been baring their teeth and preparing to pounce and bite, were now all frozen in place.

They hadn't even had time to throw the bone clubs and rusty steel pipes in their hands; their faces, covered in toad-like skin, had features twisted into a mess.

They might have no brains, but they had instincts.

The aura emanating from the white-clad human before them was too terrifying—it was the pressure of the top of the food chain, making their knees go weak and wanting only to kneel and kowtow.

Lu Sheng stood in place, his gaze sweeping over the surroundings, his golden vertical pupils devoid of any warmth.

“Squeak, squeak...”

A slightly larger Sea Monkey leader swallowed hard, its green throat sac pulsing twice as it tentatively took a step forward, trying to bolster its courage with a roar.

“Noisy.”

Lu Sheng didn't even lift his eyelids, swinging his spear backhand.

“Smack!”

This horizontal sweep didn't use the spear tip; he was purely using the spear shaft as a club.

The dragon devouring spear, weighing 1,600 catties, combined with Lu Sheng's terrifying explosive power as a Level 6 Spirit Source User, gave this strike a kinetic energy comparable to a high-speed train colliding sideways.

The Sea Monkey leader didn't even have time to scream before its upper body exploded into a cloud of blood mist. Minced meat mixed with internal organs, like a bowl of splashed rotten tomato soup, smeared all over the faces of the smaller monkeys behind it.

“Boom!”

The spear's momentum didn't end, slamming heavily into a nearby shipping container.

The thick iron sheet let out a groan, a large section denting inward, even having a large hole smashed through it, the edges curling and emitting blue smoke.

The remaining Sea Monkeys finally reacted.

Where was this prey? This was clearly the King of Hell himself coming to collect a debt!

“Screech—!!”

Strange cries rose and fell, and the group of monsters that had been fierce just a moment ago instantly panicked, dropping their weapons and using both hands and feet, wishing they had two more legs as they crawled frantically into the gaps in the trash.

“Wanting to leave now? Too late.”

Lu Sheng sneered, his figure instantly vanishing from the spot.

The spear thrust out like a dragon.

“Puchi! Puchi! Puchi!”

Every time the cold light flickered, a green head would inevitably explode like a rotten watermelon.

Lu Sheng didn't bother with any complex moves; it was just the simplest stabs, flicks, and sweeps.

In the face of absolute power and speed, this was a one-sided slaughter, like an adult rushing into a kindergarten with an iron rod.

“Kill!!”

At this moment, Zhou Hai, Zhao Ze, and Su Li behind him also finally fought their way ashore.

Zhou Hai was full of pent-up rage; earlier on the boat, he had been pinned down by the trash thrown by these beasts. Now, both his fists ignited with raging fire, settling both new and old scores.

“Damn it, you were throwing crap pretty happily earlier, weren't you? Die for your grandpa!”

“Boom boom boom!”

Explosive Flame Fists exploded on the Trash Mountain.

The waste materials covered in industrial oil were already flammable, catching fire instantly, and the blaze spread immediately.

The Sea Monkeys shrieked in the sea of fire, turning into fire monkeys scurrying everywhere. The smell of roasted rotten meat in the air grew stronger, even stinging the eyes.

“Cough cough... Old Zhou! Ease up on the fire! This smell is too pungent!” Zhao Ze advanced steadily holding his giant shield, like a human bulldozer, crushing a Sea Monkey that tried to ambush him into meat paste, bones and all, as he shouted with a muffled voice while covering his nose.

Su Li said nothing; she was a god of death wandering in the shadows.

The Shura Blade specifically targeted vitals; wherever she passed, a Sea Monkey would inevitably fall clutching its throat, unable to even make a sound.

In just five minutes.

The Sea Monkey army, which had been arrogant and had even suppressed the landing of the regular army, had its front line completely collapsed, with corpses strewn everywhere.

Lu Sheng stood amidst the pile of corpses, the dragon devouring spear in his hand vibrating slightly to shake off the foul blood on the tip.

He didn't continue chasing the remnants fleeing into the depths; instead, he stopped, his brow furrowing slightly.

“Something's not right.”

Lu Sheng closed his eyes, his recently enhanced mental power and Level 6 Spirit Source User perception fully activated.

The golden Dragon Might spread out like invisible radar waves toward the largest cluster of ruins deep in the Trash Mountain.

In this complex environment filled with the stench of rot, the rank smell of beasts, and the scent of charred plastic, his freakishly sharp perception actually captured a trace of an extremely discordant aura.

Deep within that mountain of trash, there was a group of very pure and stable human spirit source fluctuations.

More than one, at least a dozen!

These auras weren't strong, roughly between Level 2 and Level 3, but the strange thing was that this group of people didn't hide, fear, or scatter like ordinary Survivors.

They were calmly occupying the central area of the Trash Mountain, and hadn't even... moved.

What Lu Sheng found even more interesting was that those terrified, retreating Sea Monkeys weren't running around like headless chickens, but were consciously retreating toward the direction of the human presence.

It was like... a mistreated dog running home to complain to its master.

“Major Lu! Why have you stopped?”

Qin Yue ran over panting with a squad of fully armed soldiers. Looking at the corpses everywhere and the still-burning trash, her eyes were full of awe. “Should we continue deeper? The terrain inside is too complex, and it's easy to be ambushed.”

Lu Sheng slowly opened his eyes, his gaze piercing through the layers of ruins, looking directly at the huge Fortress built from the wreckage of several shipwrecks in the distance.

“Major Qin.”

Lu Sheng gently stroked the spear shaft, his voice carrying a hint of playfulness. “Tell me, in a godforsaken place like this, filled with radiation and bacteria, if a group of humans lived as neighbors with these man-eating monsters...”

“Then, are these people actually humans, or are they ghosts even more monstrous than the monsters?”

Qin Yue was stunned, her hand gripping her gun tightening, her face instantly changing: “You mean... there are people in this Trash Mountain? Survivors?”

“Not just people.”

A cold smile played on the corners of Lu Sheng's mouth as he lifted the dragon devouring spear and strode toward the depths, the iron sheets beneath his feet clanging.

“And there are Spirit Source Users among this group.”

“Come, let's pay a visit to these locals.”

Lu Sheng didn't look back, his voice scattering with the sea breeze.

“Let's see what kind of tricks they're playing.”
