84: You man-eating monster, what are you pretending to be so high and mighty for!
The aroma of tea wafted, steaming hot.
Mr. Bai's slender fingers held the lid of the Zisha teapot, gently skimming off the tea foam. His movements were fluid and graceful, as if this wasn't the Apocalypse strewn with corpses, but the Golden Hall of Vienna.
“Brother Lu, impressive skills.”
Mr. Bai poured a cup of tea and pushed it towards Lu Sheng. His eyes, behind the gold-rimmed glasses, narrowed slightly, revealing a shrewdness that seemed to see through the world.
“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Bai Jingting. Before coming to Purple Gold Mountain, friends in the underworld were kind enough to bestow upon me the nominal title of one of the three titans of Modu.”
Hearing these five words, Qin Yue and Lin Hu, who were standing behind Lu Sheng, subtly contracted their pupils.
Modu Golden Triangle!
That trading center, rumored to gather half of the Survivors in the Magic City Sea Region and possess absolute military might?
It was rumored that the three titans' strength was unfathomable, yet they had fled to this Purple Gold Mountain like stray dogs and were now lording over it.
Lu Sheng raised an eyebrow, his face expressionless.
After all this, it turned out to be the former three titans of Modu City.
No wonder the gang structure of Purple Gold Mountain felt so familiar—charging tolls, monopolizing, dividing into different classes. They had just copied the Modu system.
“So it's you guys. Couldn't make it in Modu, so you ran here to be deserters.”
Lu Sheng leaned back on the sofa, his dragon devouring spear casually resting by his leg, his tone flat.
Bai Jingting's hand, pouring tea, paused slightly, and his eyelid twitched, but he quickly recovered his smile.
“Brother Lu speaks so humorously. Good birds choose their trees to nest in. The sea level in Modu rose sharply, and the Corpse Tide ran rampant. We merely made a strategic relocation.”
He clapped his hands.
“Clap! Clap!”
The side door opened.
Several young women with curvaceous figures and revealing clothes walked in, carrying trays.
On the trays, there wasn't just red wine and cigars, but even sizzling, greasy steaks.
Bai Jingting gestured to the room full of extravagance, spreading his arms as if showcasing his kingdom.
“Brother Lu, you are a smart man. What the military gives you is just a nominal title. Following that stubborn Chen Yan, what can you gain? Fighting to the death? Bleeding?”
He stood up, walked to Lu Sheng, and extended his hand from a condescending height, his voice full of temptation.
“Join us, and the position of Vice President is yours.”
“You can pick any woman here, use any supplies here! With us brothers working together, the hundred thousand Survivors of Purple Gold Mountain are our livestock, our pigs and sheep, to be eaten however we please!”
Qin Yue's hand pressed against her bow, her knuckles turning white.
Lin Hu's teeth ground together audibly.
Beasts!
Treating their own kind as livestock to be raised, this group of people was utterly rotten!
Lu Sheng looked at the well-maintained hand extended before him, then at the steaming cup of tea on the table.
He suddenly laughed.
His smile was somewhat brilliant, revealing a mouthful of stark white teeth.
“Are you done talking?”
Bai Jingting was startled: “What?”
“I said, are you done with your last words?”
Before his voice faded.
Lu Sheng suddenly raised his foot.
“Bang—!!!”
That expensive solid wood coffee table, along with the valuable tea set and scalding hot tea on it, instantly transformed into a massive cannonball, smashing fiercely towards Bai Jingting's face!
“Splash!”
The scalding tea splashed all over Bai Jingting, and fragments of the Zisha teapot cut several bloody gashes on his refined face.
“Ah!!”
Bai Jingting screamed, staggering backward. His meticulously combed hair was now covered in tea leaves, making him look as disheveled as a drowned rat.
That air of high-minded elegance was shattered to pieces by that single kick.
Lu Sheng slowly stood up, single-handedly lifting his dragon devouring spear, his eyes as cold as blades.
“I hate people like you the most.”
“You're clearly man-eating ghosts, yet you insist on pretending to be high and mighty.”
“If you don't want to be human, then die!”
Bai Jingting wiped the tea and blood from his face, his elegant features instantly twisting into a hideous, distorted grimace, his features squeezed together like a demon.
“You're ungrateful!”
“Since you want to die, I'll grant your wish!”
“Attack! Kill the men, keep the women!”
“Boom!”
As Bai Jingting gave the order, the two black-clad bodyguards behind him instantly burst into action!
These two were also ruthless characters who had fought their way out of the mountains of corpses and seas of blood in Modu, and their coordination was exceptionally seamless.
The one on the left, his muscles bulging, his skin instantly turning grayish-white like rock, roared as he charged towards Lin Hu.
The one on the right, his figure like a ghost, now held two poisoned daggers, aiming directly for Qin Yue's throat.
“You're seeking death!”
Lin Hu roared, his battle-halberd wreathed in lightning, meeting the charge head-on.
Qin Yue was not to be outdone; an arrow flew from her bowstring, its cold light sharp.
“Bang! Bang! Clang!”
Intense collision sounds exploded in the hall.
However, after just a few exchanges, Lin Hu and Qin Yue's expressions changed drastically.
These two bodyguards had extremely rich combat experience; every move was a lethal technique aimed at vital points, and their spirit source reserves were no less abundant than theirs.
The rock-skinned bodyguard actually withstood Lin Hu's lightning, punching Lin Hu back several steps, blood spilling from his mouth.
And the ghostly assassin was even more elusive, moving effortlessly amidst Qin Yue's arrows, even leaving a bloody mark on Qin Yue's arm.
“Damn it! Are these the Level 5 powerhouses who escaped from Modu?”
Lin Hu was horrified.
Though both were Level 5, these desperate individuals who had fought their way out of the heart of the Corpse Tide possessed a ruthlessness and decisiveness that the military officers, who trained methodically behind the front lines, lacked!
In the center of the hall.
Bai Jingting looked at the two struggling in bitter battle and let out a triumphant, wild laugh.
“Lu Sheng, do you see? This is the difference!”
“You think you can run wild just because you abused a few weaklings in Purple Gold Mountain? In front of true powerhouses, you're just a joke!”
As his voice fell, a terrifyingly cold white aura erupted from Bai Jingting!
“Buzz—”
The temperature of the entire hall instantly plummeted to freezing point.
The expensive carpet instantly frosted over, the crystal chandelier cracked from the cold, and even fine ice crystals floated in the air.
Bai Jingting floated in mid-air, surrounded by an icy cold current, like a monarch of ice and snow.
Saint-rank Sequence—[Extreme Cold Lord]!
“It is your honor to die by my Saint-rank Sequence!”
